I agree with @hollydolly about woke, snowflakes, trigger words and safe spaces

Agree. I was thinking along those lines, too. Probably still have teens at home, busy with family stuff. (At least that got my original thought out of my head! )

That is not a funny in the world today. I love a good funny but we must always consider if it would hurt anyone. If it is truly funny, it does not hurt anyone.

A former forum had mods too self centered to allow all of us to enjoy the threads. So, off I went.
Angry at life in general posters ruined the more intellectual threads on my last forum.
So, I googled, found this one, and so far am enjoying the diversity of this group.

For the most part, folks are sane. I know, I know, that can change at any moment

I stumbled on the Forum last year after I retired and moved to a retirement community. (I am a widower.) This was exactly the kind of site that I was looking for! I don't spend as much time on it as a lot of folks, but almost always go on at least once a day.

I'm a child of the 70's...Carson, Pryor, Andy Coughman, Rickles...it's been a difficult adjustment for me in this new era where everyone seems to get so easily offended by something.

But I have toned down my shtick to a degree...realizing I could be hurting other's feelings.

I did a search for senior forums like Chet and RavishingRadishRose.I didn't like the format and/or content of some other senior forums I found. When I came across SF, after poking around a bit I decided to give it a shot. So far so good! No matter where you go you're bound to run into whack-jobs. I've only encountered a few here. I just avoid engaging them. If they don't leave me alone, I punch them in the nose.

I've always felt welcome on forums, though some are rather clique-ish.

I was in need of doing something due to being home all the time (pandemic) and I did a search on senior forums. And the rest is history.

I searched google "senior forums". I checked three. This one has the most subject matter, media, and by far the most activity. People are contributing about every 3 minutes on average!!!

I agree with you somewhat. I cross the line sometimes. But being accused of using my white privilege to bash minorities?? That's a bit of a stretch and doesn't even make sense!
