How Did You Meet Your Best Friends?

High school (he's now in SE Alaska)

Thousands of really great acquaintances...but not thru thin with 'em......yet

I grew up with my dear cousin....I lived across the street from her...We both moved away after we graduated High School....Our parents
sold our homes and bought another home.....My cousin is my best friend...Even now, we are still close, but are far away from each other...
We talk on the phone....Her daughter is my God Daughter and my cousin is my son's God son....
I have many friends scattered around New Jersey....Some also in Florida and So. Carolina...We are all getting older and many have ailments,
lost their spouse's and children....(I do still send cards to my friend's) They love to get them...Cause we don't see each other often....
 
I met my oldest best friends in grammar and high school. After my kids started school I met my newer best friends through them. Play dates,and school functions.
Sadly many have passed away. I guess I should be grateful for my health but I actually don't want to be the last man standing.
 
Childhood friends, work. One of my best friends, we met through a mutual friend. Her and I were pregnant..this was 27 years ago and we are still the best of friends. I keep up with some of my friends through facebook which I am not a big fan of fb. When they are ready, I will tell them about SF :ROFLMAO: But a few of my friends are not on facebook and we call each other which I prefer.
 
I met one of my best friends when we were babies. Our mothers put us on a blanket in the yard. We grew up together and went on to be college roommates.

My other best friend was my boyfriend in high school. I had a crush on him and he was interested in the girl who sat in front of him in Geometry class. He didn't get her and I got him. We turned out to be better friends than romantic partners. I'll always have a place in my heart for him and we'll always be best friends.
 
I met my closest friend at work 30 years ago, and another while out walking about 4 years ago, we got chatting and have been friends ever since
 
I have one best friend whom I met at secondary school in the 60s. We rarely see each other as she lives in my home island and I live in the UK. We keep in touch by e-mail and phone calls.
 
Oh gosh! Let's see......

My two oldest best friends....one is my ex-sister in law Denise, we've been friends 40+ years now. And the other is my friend Pat, who started bringing her children to me when I ran my daycare back in California. That's 30ish years ago.

More recent best friends have been through the abuse forum that I found back in the 90's when things got really bad (three close friends from there) I have many friends in my dance community, but there are three there that I would consider best friends, and then 4 more through my work.

All of these folks are on my wedding guest list.
 
my 2 BFF.........i met one at school .... 52 yrs ago.........., and the other was my babysitter 45yrs ago

Some from very long ago, some within the past decade. Lots of acquaintances though - and I treasure those relationships, too.

I'm a rolling stone who's gathered plenty of the best kind of moss over the years.
