How do you deal with the colder weather?

In winter around here in WNY,I dress accordingly when I go outside
If its bone chilling cold e.g temps in the teens or lower,I wear layers of clothing,my entire face is covered if its, snowing I'll wear ski goggles or sunglasses
I'm so used to walking in wintry weather it doesn't bother me except when the wind is more than 25mph,then I curtail my walking routine
The only negative I have is putting clothing on/taking off,it gets tiresome after awhile Sue

I love it. When our everlastingly long summers finally come to an end, I am so thankful for the cool breezes and crisp air of autumn!

The cold winter days don't bother me at all. 99% of my activities are indoors anyway. If it's too cold (or hot) to walk outside, I go to the gym.

I am sitting here in shorts and a t-shirt, the thermostat is still on AC. In another few weeks I will switch to long pants, and later on shirts with collar and if it gets really cold ,long sleeves.

In 1969 we moved from sunny southern California to the interior of the Yukon Territory. Northerners advised us on proper clothing for winter. The essential items were a parka and lined moosehide mittens. Not just any old parka either. Our Parkas were long, fitted below the hips with a bottom drawstring to keep the cold out. They were filled with goose down and the hood was quite long, stood well out in front of our faces and trimmed with wolf fur. It formed a tunnel around our faces and really limited our sight, tunnel vision, but it kept our faces warm. Oh, and two layers of heavy wool socks as well as two pairs of wool pants. We used to joke that we could recognize each other by the puffs of steam we exhaled. We couldn't get much work done in that get-up, just waddle around but we didn't get cold.

We were there for two winters so we acclimated to the cold winters pretty well. Now we live in a much warmer climate so we easily deal with our winters.

What is cold weather? I may nave some Nordic blood in my heritage, cold doesn't bother me as much as hot, humid weather. There a woman in church that states she has never felt warm - even when it in the 80s, she wears a sweater. I'd be sweating cannon balls!

You may have thicker blood and maybe even an overactive thyroid.

Just broke down and bought an electric lap blanket. My husband has used one for the past 3-4 years and he loves it. He is diabetic and his legs and feet are always cold in the winter. I am starting to reach a point where I am cold a lot too. So, I got one from Amazon. Will arrive Sunday.

We don't get much cold weather here. When winter comes I enjoy the break from the heat and humidity.

I just wish that Fall weather was here for most of the year. A high in the 60's and nights in the 40's is, to me, almost perfect. Oppressive Summer heat and humidity and bitter Winter cold is grounds for little more than hiding out indoors.

My highest gas bill (wall heater) is no more than about $35 in winter. We get colder here but NOTHING like when I lived back East....I wear a hoodie or other heavier jacket during winter...my blood has gotten very thin in 50 yrs of So. Cal. living and not carrying a lot of fat.

I just put on more clothes. I deal a lot better with cold than with the godawful heat here in the summer, which actually makes me feel quite ill if I am out in it very long.

It had cooled down quite a bit here the last few days, but today I've had my swamp cooler on again. I never get my cooler shut down until I am sure the heat is REALLY over for the winter.

On the colder days, my primary location for working with my computer turns from my desk or my chair to my bed, with all of my body except for one arm and --surprisingly-- one head covered by a duvet.

When going about outside, I try to wear a hooded jacket or some kind of head covering as much bodily heat is lost through the head. Indoors, I'll often wear a sweatshirt.

Saskatchewan, Manitoba? Really anywhere in most of Canada, you have an absolute right to get depressed. Me, in N'east US? Comparatively I'm just kind of a wimp.
Ontario. It’s not that I hate winter. I actually like all the seasons. It’s the lack of daylight hours or sunshine causing seasonal affective disorder.

Know what you mean. For me it's not so much winter in general but the cold and shoveling. In fact, during the holiday season, I really love the feeling of getting snowed in. Kind of like a dog who likes to curl up in a corner nice and warm. A feeling kind of like this:
