How Do You Eat Ice Cream.

I usually eat it at home, then I put it in a bowl. Usually, I pour some topping (chocolate or strawberry syrup) on it;

Hang on, I'm not finished yet. THEN I sprinkle dry roasted peanuts all over the top.

Well, You asked.

I think you forgot that little umbrella on top.

I'm still arguing with a neighbor who insists frozen custard and soft serve are two different products. I said unless it's ice milk (like Foster Freeze), they're the same thing. Anybody have an opinion?

Haven't had any in quite a few years, but I prefer either a cone or sundae. Cups are good, too, though!

I loved "Ice Milk" Janice, as a kid, but thought it was discontinued! Are you saying I can find some somewhere? It's much colder than ice-cream, not as rich made with skim milk I think), not as frothy, not as fattening.

I have no self-control with icecream so I had an epiphany. Those cheap cake cones you see everywhere are only 20 calories and mostly air (not sugar cones, not waffle cones). So I allow myself to fill it as full as I want and tell myself when it's over it's over. It also satisfies my craving for something crunchy (the cone). That helps me a lot with self-control.

I don't know if there are any outside of California, but Foster Freeze is still there.

Sounds good to me Falcon! However I put mine in a bowl by itself. Blue Bell Mexican Praline is my favorite but they are not making right now so I have to settle for Pralines and crème.

In a cone sometimes but in a bowl mostly.

As a pup living in Wisconsin I recall my mom giving me a big pot and telling me to go outside and tightly fill it with clean snow......she'd then mix vanilla and a little milk with it and we'd have 'Snow Cream'

Anyone else had or remember snow cream ?Snow Cream.jpg

"Fried ice cream" is really great, but not easy to find. The last time I had it was in a Mexican restaurant in Arizona. I have had it in Mexico and I used to get it in Chi-Chi's restaurants in Florida years ago.

Now I settle for a dish every night around 9pm. Rum-raisin is very good.

How do I eat ice cream? I lure it to within three feet of me (my arm reach) and it's a dead duck. I have a very effective ice-cream call.....it sounds like mmmmm-mmmm-mmmmm with a little oooooo thrown in. Works every time.

I wish there was someplace to get Turkish ice cream here in the states. I don't know what they put in their ice cream (and I probably don't WANT to know....) but it almost needs to be chewed, it's so thick. Maybe a lot of something like guar gum? I had goat milk ice cream in Spain and that was pretty damned fine, too. Tasted almost like cream cheese.

Frozen custard and run-of-the-mill soft serve are so far apart as to be two different desserts. Two great frozen custard places are Whit's and Kohr's. If you see one of their shops, give it a try. You won't regret it. Culver's is OK, but not up to those two IMHO.

No, but in the Northeast there was a similar treat- clean, fresh snow with maple syrup. Never had any, though.

I eat it in a bowl . Low carb ice cream , with no carb sauce and no carb whipped cream . The no carb food tastes just lust the real thing , so I'm a happy camper !
