how do you END your day?

I usually watch a little comedy in bed with my husband, have a few laughs and then it's lights out for the night.....good way to end the day, with a smile.

Sometimes I listen to theta music on my ipad, which is suppose to bring vivid dreams. Usually I read with a flashlight so as not to bother my husband. Tonight I'm going to listen to a podcast my daughter and her hubby did recently.

I watch my favorite news show,'The 11th Hour with Brian Williams on MSNBC,11pm-midnight,M-F
If he's not on,I usually go to bed
On the weekends,I usually read a book then go to bed around 10:30

Shut down the shop

Tidy up garden tools

Get comfy, bed shorts

Sit out

Sip something

Our last meal is some fruit, apples, oranges, or my aggravatingly favorite, a pomegranate.... stuff like that
And maybe some popcorn

After being on here a bit, I usually forage for youtube informative/instructional stuff (while being on here)

Ever so often we’ll plug in a movie, of which we’ve got maybe a thousand to choose from (no TV)
Last night we watched O Brother, where art thou?

After that, we’ll look at each other, suggest slumber, or waken our mate
Usually it’s around 11 or midnight, or…whenever

Brush the teeth

Then it’s lights out
Which involves a stroll outside to turn off the genny

Last night the moon was small, so the stars were big…and so very many
It’s when my grateful prayer of thanks happens

Usually I’ll stoke the stove, but we’re ‘tween seasons, so I now let it go and snuggle in the covers

I’ll turn on the beside battery lamp and knock out half the NY Times crossword for my last action of the day

We’ve come into the habit of saving our frolic for the mornings. Makes our second sleep just that much more satiating

Heh, never listed what my last of the day things were

There is no set schedule
Just creature habits that have come to be

Had to think a bit

Thanks, Jim

I let Pickles out for the last time.

Set my alarm, even though I cancelled them it will still go off if someone tries to break in...just no police will come out.

Then I make sure everything that needs charging is charging.

Then I get a bottle of water and my thyroid pill to put on my nightstand.

Brush teeth. Wash face.

Get in bed with my iPad and have it playing a show I don’t need to watch just hear...last one was Frasier.

Then I toss and turn adjusting pillows and sheets...that takes me the longest. For some reason I just can’t get into bed and not move and be comfortable for at least half an hour

Then I doze off and when I wake up a few hours later, I remove my iPad from the bed....and I’ll switch from being on my back to my side.

Hungry, like I always am. And I have trouble falling asleep because of tinnitus, which is much worse when it's quiet. I turn the TV on low volume & set the timer for 30 minutes to drown it out, or I won't be able to sleep.

I check the computer for a few minutes, Make sure there is absolutely complete darkness in the bedroom. Which means closing the already dark drapes with clothes pins, putting a piece of cardboard over the lights under the desk of the computer, turning the caption call phone around and also my clock. Takes about 10 minutes to complete this ritual every night and it still doesn't help much. Then I read for awhile on my Kindle and the last thing I do is talk to my Mom and Dad about what went on during the day. It is very comforting for me. Sometimes I sleep sometimes I don't. Last resort I take an Ambien which always works.

I turn off the fan going in the dining room, make sure the lights are off and the night lights are on, use the bathroom, get into bed and toss and turn for awhile before I fall asleep.

I wash my face, brush my teeth, go to the bathroom, put my pajamas on, and get into bed and turn out the lamp on my night stand next to the bed.

I want more details. :rofl1::rofl1:
