How do you keep hormone levels balanced as you age?

Yeah, I'm not one much for diets, unless they are needed for health reasons. I have been fortunate to be in good health, not gained any weight, don't smoke, and eat a well-balanced regimen of food, and get plenty of exercise, so everything is fine. I was mostly curious about what others have employed to keep hormones in balance, and learning things for myself as well.
Sorry Bob, I'm cranky today so I probably could have phrased things much more amiably. That's on me.

No, I didn't read it that way at all. I appreciated all you shared. I have a curious mind, and sometimes it can be easy to misunderstand. No worries.

I take bio-identical hormones. They're compounded by a pharmacist.
My magic potion consists of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone.

I've been rather flaky lately w/taking them due to other health issues I've been having.
But, they do the trick.

I eat very healthy too. And, treat myself when needed.

Just to clarify, is it your view that even though we lose about 10% of our testosterone every decade after about 30 or 40, that we should just accept it, or look for foods that might boost it?
Boosters are fine.

I take vitamins B12 and B6 in liquid form, and drink a few cups of hot yerba tea with panax ginseng and ginger root every day.
Works for me.

Lots of interesting stuff there, thanks. I learned a few things, for example, that water plays an important role in the balance of hormones. But I guess it makes sense when you think about it, since it aids in digestion.

I just heard the same thing very recently about bio-identical hormones from a very knowledgeable source. It seems they are far better than the generic standard type that so many places push.

I go to the gym 5 days a week and work out with weight machines.

"Research shows that testosterone levels rise for short periods of time after exercise — ranging from 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the man. Younger men get a bigger post-exercise boost. Testosterone levels also vary throughout the day; levels are typically higher in the morning and lower in the afternoon."

That's good information, and something I didn't know. Thanks.

To be honest, I guess I let my hormones go free ranged. I never sat down and tried to manage them.
Are you nuts. Do you realize what could happen by doing that. They could actually turn you into a teddy bear, and make you fuzzy. That's a pretty risky endeavor I would think. However, if it happens, you'll always have a home here with the rest of us eclectic characters.

Silly me. Guess I haven't paid attention, but "balancing hormone levels" is now a thing? What's wrong with eating right and exercising and generally just using good sense? Does every. freaking. thing. have to be a thing? Does there really need to be a bandwagon for a cough, a sneeze, loss of three hairs, an ingrown toenail. OMG! What about hangnails? A callus on the palm of my hand?

My eyebrows are getting sparse. Is there a 12-step group for that?

I'm with @fuzzybuddy.
