How do you make your bed?

I just straighten out the sheets and put the pillow up at the top so it looks neat. I used to put a bedspread on, but no-one ever sees my bedroom, and looking at a bedspread does nothing for me. Besides, I would have to take it on every night and put it back on every morning.

I'm not a bed making expert. I make my bed, like my mom did, with a bed spread, that was tucked around the pillows. Then there's what I call "hotel bed making". It's a bunch of 'naked' pillows at the head and a strip down at the foot.
So, how do you make your bed, or do you make your bed?
I have a Queen size bed, on it is a mattress topper, then a fitted sheet... ...then in summer I have no top sheet..instead I have a lightweight comforter, and a bed runner at the bottom of the bed.....

I have only one pillow in the middle of the bed cuz there's only me now sleeping there.. and I have silk pillowcases..

When I make the bed, it is more like the hotel method. In summer, sheet with the top edge folded down over a light weight blanket with pillows laid on top. The bedspread is folded down at the foot of the bed. That is covered with another sheet to keep it clean and protected from dog. A crocheted throw is placed on one side as a sort of nest for the other dog. Tidy but not what I would call Better Homes and Gardens style.

Winter is completely different. Several more blankets, no bedspread, with everything just pulled up to the head, again pillows just placed on top.

Some days, I don't make the bed. Who is gonna see it? I may just straighten things up a bit.

I am more focused on kitchen and bath. Those are kept neat and clean, partly because they are small rooms and disorganization makes it difficult to use them.

I have a queen-sized bed, and use a king-sized bedspread, because the bed is high. Going to bed I fold the bedspread across the bed, not down. In the morning, I straighten the sheet and blanket, pull the bedspread back to my side, and lay the shams over the pillows. On days that I don't, for whatever reason,
make the bed fully, I just close the bedroom door.

More hotel style. Duvet is folded down, bottom sheet smoothed and 4 pillows stacked at the headboard (2 soft, 2 medium). I love crisp white sheets and pillowcases and, in the winter, the much treasured, vintage patchwork quilt makes an appearance. The bed and mattress get vacuumed every week when I change the bedding.

Typing this, I realise that I might be a little too fussy but, I think if your bed isn't clean and comfy then you probably won't sleep well :)

My bed stays made up, I hardly ever sleep in the bed. I just get dressed in my bedroom and sleep on the couch every night. I lay across the bed on top of the bedspread maybe three times a year for a short nap when my back hurts from sleeping on the couch. I gotta stop doing that.

I remove the pillows then I tighten up the fitted sheet on the bottom. It's oversize and always gets loose overnight. Then I pull up and straighten the top sheet tight but do not tuck it in. Then I pull up and straighten the coverlet.
Fluff the pillows and place them. That's it.

I do not like making beds. Mine has a fitted sheet and blankets and a comforter. Our house is freezing cold, usually around 55 degrees. All those covers are on the bed and I roll up in them, as befitting the room temp. I am a burrito. I have several bed pillows, meant for beds, not decorative. I arrange them for my comfort.

Like @Aunt Bea , I sleep in a twin bed and use full-sized covers. I am a shortish contortionist, or the bed would have never been big enough for me and my 60 lb. dog. Note: I may be short-ish to some people, but I believe I am tall and always have.
