How has your appearance changed over the years?

As an adolescent my dad cut mine and brothers hair very short. My early Teen years I was allowed to grow my hair longer upon parental approval. I was still in high school and living at home. In the early 70s most guys sported a mustache and I was no exception. I grew a faint beard once, but it itched terribly and I shaved it off. In the 1990s I had my blond hair dyed red and had my hair put into corn-rolls and my hair has been permed a couple of times.

I've had my head shaven, my hair feathered and of course the famous mullet look of the 70s & 80s. Now I'm growing out the layers and tucking it behind my ears. The season's of life are like sands in an hourglass. Dear God, please flip me over, this side is almost done.

Being blessed with an oily complexion has helped preserve my youthfulness as far as me having no wrinkles or aging, but having always been heavier in the bum, thighs, and wider in the hips, having six children didn't help that any.

Overall I am thrilled with how I have aged, and best of all I still sport my natural hair colour with no gray.

At first I thought you were referring to the involuntary change in appearance due to aging, rather than choices that you voluntarily made.
I actually started a mustache when I was 15, but it needed and got a little help from my girlfriend's mascara brush. ;)
I never grew my hair very long, my hair had(and still has) a fine texture which makes it "ratty" looking after a certain length.
When I worked at a steel mill I would sometimes grow a short beard to protect my face from the heat of molten steel. I never grew it for more than a few months, would shave it off and start over later.

During the Quarantine I let my hair grow, but most of that was because it was such a hassle to see a barber. I recently cut it back to a "regular man's cut", which only folks over 60 know what that means. For a several years after I retired I let my beard grow to a #4 clipper settings, which IIRC is 1/2 inch.
Last few months I just trim it back to a #1 on a weekly basis, works O.K., not too much grey beard that makes me look old, just enough stubble to help disguise the spider veins along my jawline.

I have a little story to tell about my hair! I had long natural black hair from as a child to about my mid-forties (with help). Natural gray streaks started coming through (along with all my siblings, ha ha, a hereditary thing compliments of my French Maman) in my early 20s. I dabbed those streaks diligently with a magic black comb (which one may still be able to get today). When my son was born (a very pleasant surprise) in later years, and as more and more gray streaks appeared, I decided to let it all go naturally and study the results after. Little that I knew, my son only visualized me with total black hair. When he entered Kindergarden, the teacher had a meet the parent session which before hand, the children had to try and sketch their mothers. The teacher was able to pair all except for me and my son. Upon query, my son told the teacher his mother had black hair and this is what he had drawn. He was very disturbed about this so back to the 'drawing board' went Maman and not with the magic comb as too gray now. I do believe the next age I decided to let go and let nature take its' course, I was in my early 60s and lo and behold there was no black left but a head of 'natural' snow white hair to the surprise of all. I moved to the Prairies with such but heck I am now in my 80s so no big deal! Right!...and it is growing like mad because of the pandemic and no hairdressers.

I'm turning into my mother.
Not me, as I never saw my Mom with white hair because she dyed her hair since the age of 18 yrs right up until her 80s. She used to reprimand me when she saw 'any' gray or white in my hair when I visited her and after a hug hello, she would dash to the phone and make an appointment with her hair dresser to cover same.

People in my past would not recognize me as I have changed so much especially hair wise and of course, darn it all, I have lost height which does not please me one bit, I blame that on the Prairie winds here.

My hair turned white a while back and has migrated from the top of my head to my eyebrows, nose, and ears. Other than that, my appearance hasn't changed much since my 30s. My eyesight has gotten a lot worse, though. Perhaps to those with good eyesight, I've changed. :)

Never cared if I got wrinkles when I got old... just don't want to "scare little children"...lol
Important thing about getting old is to "keep your health". That's my gauge for great aging!

I’ve got a recessive gene that keeps my hair dark and over all of my head, but am beginning to develop “turkey neck.” I had long sideburns in college and a mustache for a year, but that was the 70’s. No long or facial hair for me now in my “declining years...” 😸
