Good morning to everyone. It is sunny and warmer today at 71 degrees. I had a mixed up delivery from Walmart as they didn't deliver one item, so now it is scheduled for later today. Amazon sent my Cascade dishwasher pods by UPS and they are not being delivered today or yesterday as scheduled. I wonder now about those deliveries not happening when ordered.

I hope all of you have a great day. :)

Today will be another busy one for me. After the gym this morning, we're heading over to Wal-Mart for a bigger shopping trip. I don't actually "need" anything, but we like to keep over stocked at this time of year. Even though our weather is mostly mild, if/when winter does hit, we don't go out on the roads. So we try to be prepared, in case we are home for a week or two.
I do the same, @Trila. Plus, living alone, I like to be well stocked on everything at all times, just in case.

It's warm here today, too. Well, 24 F, which is warm for here for this time of year.

I'm going to take a break from work and run out to pick up a few things and fill up on gas. I also hope to get a walk in later on the indoor track at a local fitness facility. Last October I bought a set of 12 day passes because I knew my outdoor walks were coming to an end for several months.

Hope everyone's day is going well.

DD rang and said that she'd got an alert that all 4 tyres of her Rav4 had lost pressure since Sunday due to the cold and snow.. and telling me to check my tyres before I go anywhere..

Her Rav4 does everything but cook the dinner.. my new car is a very basic car I have no fancy warnings on mine.....so I will check them before I go anywhere ...

i want to load all the recycle and donations into the car in a little while..It's dark now at 4.15pm... but there's a glorious sunset North east.. so I'm hoping that will bring sunshine tomorrow... so I can get those things taken tomorrow ...because the rest of the week heavy snow is predicted.

All that said, they start on my utility room in 2 days, I'm dreading that.. the electric will be off, and the back door will be wide open all day every day ..in SNOW..it's gonna be freeezing ! 🥶 🥶

I'm feeling so 'on hold' today. My old cat died this past weekend (felt surprisingly unexpected considering I've been expecting it for months, but he'd been getting Solensia arthritis injections the past three months and doing so much better I was lulled into thinking he could last several more months) and I've applied to adopt a cat, but I'm waiting to hear back, the cat adoption process seems way too long and complicated, I feel like I'm applying for a job.
Here is the YouTube ad for the cat I've applied for (application thru the local county SPCA, so not just a YouTube scammer):

Good luck with Patches.

We have mild winters here (71°F today), but when we do get cold snaps, it's not unusual to get ice storms, and that's when things can get bad...including power outages. Even if we don't lose power (only happens once every 5-10 years), I just don't want to go out in bad weather!! I used to go out when I was younger, but now I'm retired and don't have to. I'll stock up on the nice days, and hibernate on the bad days! LOL

I'm on Day Three of petlessness. It is depressing to not have a pet greeting me at the door, getting up when I get up (even for each pee time), settling in on the bed at bedtime, etc. This is the first I've been petless since my mid-twenties. When my first cat got old and died it was pre-computer era and I called a rescue place and asked if there was any cat available immediately and there was, so I didn't need to go even one night alone. Then for each of the subsequent pets that have passed away there were other pets living in the house (or in the barn available to be surprised into becoming a housecat).

Tomorrow the cat I applied for is coming to visit me (and then assuming they follow the process they outlined, I'll have to give her back until the weekend while they check my references etc). I cannot believe how complex the organization makes a pet adoption, I'm really regretting not having gone to a shelter to pick one out of a line of cages and getting an instant cat-baby. But I hadn't realized this cat rescue wasn't part of the official local one, their name sure sounded like they were, but they turn out to be an independent cat rescue (with highest rating on charity navigator but obviously that site doesn't care about the rescue torturing the potential adopters! ha). I have literally had a human foster child with less red-tape.

It seems like not having a pet makes me grumpy.
