How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

My tongue is slowly getting better, applesauce and runny-mush ("grits") are no problem now, and I nibbled a few inches of soft ripened banana.

Oatmeal is still too difficult, so I didn't even attempt making egg salad. I'm getting so tired of Greek yogurt already. But I'm proud of myself for throwing away unopened a pint of Haagen Dazs ice cream (but have kept the individual size ones I bought). Don't know how to eat any vegetables other than pureed baby food but 'pears and peas' was yucky, 'apples and broccolli' was barely better, no wonder babies spit this stuff out.

I woke up several times last night with bad leg cramps, so I had some Cream of Chicken soup today and added a bunch of salt.

I'm used to eating being fun so this liquidy soft food experience is challenging, though I think the real problem is I'm constantly low-grade-nauseous, not sure why, maybe the tongue is weeping drainage fluid. Bizarre to not even want to eat ice cream.

Yesterday's protest was disappointing because I was with a disability-friendly outing and so we were bused to an alternate protest site (not the main downtown mall) and walked a couple blocks, stood and listened to speeches, then walked back and were bused home. OTOH, I was still in the 'no exercise' post-procedure time period, so it was conveniently appropriate.

I went to a mosque meeting with my son today. Usually, the mosque he attends is about a 20 to 30 minute drive., but today they held their meeting in a newly renovated space in our town. I always enjoy the young minister in training's message. He's a powerful speaker who drops the history on us. As we left, each of us was given a smal container of bean soup and a piece of bread. I heated mine as soon as I changed into my house clothes. After I ate that, I was knocked out (didn't even take the bowl to the kitchen). I slept straight through for about 6 hours and that hardly ever happens, but since I didn't sleep soundly last night and sleep was intermittent.

@HoneyNut Apparently I missed some things and need to read through the last few pages of this thread anyway, so I'll see what happened with your tongue. In the meantime...why did you throw away an unopened container of Haagen Dazs?!
@Pepper I thought you were sprung!
@Jules Well at least you got to hear some good music! At some point, the broadcast will be available to listen to. I'll update you via PM when it is.

...it's a Sunny morning.. albeit quite breezy...

Got some deliveries arriving later today, and DD will be calling shortly as she does in her lunch hour, a couple of times a week... . She has terrible phone signal at her house, so she has to call when she's at work or if shes out and about in her car..

I noticed the tulips and crocuses are out already... that;'s so early for them.. Mostly we have them in April, but we've had such beautiful weather for most of this month

Nothing particlarly planned for today, just the usual chores..

Have the best start to the week you can..folks... 🌷

Morning all, my early walk at 6:50 temp was 46 as I walked around past a couple of driveways as I heard the birds chirping as the sun was breaking through the clouds
My plans today, a bit more shredding, hope to take a couple more walks ,should be a nice day temps near 60 before the rain arrives in the afternoon
Everybody have a wonderful day

Good morning.....but not really!!!!!

First, I slept in waaaaay too late! It was 8:00 before I even started my coffee!!

Then, my messenger app decided to torment me. It was totally uncooperative and was having temper tantrums. I had to give it a time out, and delete it. Then it didn't want to reinstall!!!! 😠. Eventually, I went the long way around, through FB, to do my daily check in with friends. Messenger seems to be working now, but I'm not sure if it's sincere or if it's just messing with me!

I'm heading off to my Mom's house in about an hour. I have no idea when I will be home. Have a great day!

That sounds truly awful, HoneyNut, I'm so sorry. But at least you do report getting better, so the worst of it is probably over.

You are more adventurous than I am. I really wanted to go to one of the demonstrations but chickened out. I did enjoy watching a lot of TV, and attended a lovely concert of classical music in our own clubhouse, which was about as far as I was prepared to venture on my own. Driving there was the easy part, but just thinking of walking down the steep aisle to my seat was enough to give me nightmares. I made it fine, ending up sitting in one of the back rows. I heard the beautiful concert with no problem back there. But an energetic demonstration possibly involving a lot of walking? That's the kind of thing I did 10 years ago!

But just seeing all those wonderful signs probably was worth it for those of you who did go. Congratulations, you're a spunky lady!

Roofing company arrive on time, covered all my shrubs around the house, found and fixed several problems from after storm that insurance missed (or chose no to see—AHem!), cleaned the yard thoroughly and..

I have been looking at another apartment complex.. in a larger town north of me ...

Now if you were told that the apartment was on the 6th floor... and on that floor there was the roof garden, would you think that the 6th floor must be the top ?... I did, and it wasn't.... there was 2 more floors above.... !

In the last 3 weeks have gone on 3 wildflower road trips over 10 days. So far have post processed 62 images with a modest number still left. So have been very busy working on my desktop.

The long March drought is about to end with a couple days of weak storms moving across the north state. Southern California folks will just remain dry and may not see another storm this spring. Tahoe ski season has shrivelled away in the heat. I could do some more road trips, however the gasoline cost is around $5.30/gallon even at cheapest stations statewide that is crimping those notions.

My son and I had a joint eye appointment this afternoon with our glaucoma specialist. He was able to work and get home in time to start his bean soup before we headed out.We wound up being there for a little more than 3 hours. She was pleased with both our exams which included a visual field test, pictures of the nerves at the back of the eye and eye pressure checks. I discussed my concerns about my astigmatism and split vision getting worse. I also asked more questions about the split vision. There's no medical term for it and it is not to be confused with double vision, which online searches do.

She prescribed a preservative free lubricant because she said Systane (which I swore by) does have preservatives, which might be exacerbating the problem. I was given a sample of one brand of preservative free drops to use until my other ones arrive. We stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way home and son got me a chocolate muffin which I had with almond milk. Took a nap until my oldest grandson called me and we were on the phone for almost two and a half hours after which timr I had a brief chat with HS#3.

I slept well, and only got up once during the night. I used the cane that I got from my Mom, it seemed to help. Of course, by the time I get to the bathroom, I don't need it anymore. But it was good to have for those first 15-20 steps immediately after getting out of bed.

After the gym today, I'm going to see if I can get the right insert for my shoe. I'm hoping that will be all of the help I'll need, to get this foot to heal/heel. (pun intended! 😁)

If it still doesn't get better, I'm going to see the Sport Medicine doctor. I've heard that she doesn't a "shock treatment" that is very effective. But that won't be for a while.....I'll try the insert first.

...hey peeps of SF.... it's a glorious sunny afternoon....

Our Postal service is diabolical these days. As households we only get post twice a week...once upon a time it was twce a day...but what's worse is that important mail is taking forever to get to it's destination.

Today i received letter for an appt at the hospital for the follow up to my Biopsy.... the letter was dated the 19th of March..appt date 26 th... I got the letter today the 31st.. 😖

I tried calling the hospital but agin the NHS is on it's knees, and trying to get anyone to asnwer the phone is lauaghable.
The letter sad the phone lines would be open until 5pm... and I was calling at 2.30pm... but the voice recording said the appointment lines are only open from 9am until 3pm...

FGS it's all so frustrating...

then today we learn that Diesel has rocketed to £1.83 per LITRE...£8.23 per GALLON..... and the last shipment is on it's way from the Middle East.

Well you know what that means... not only no fuel at the pumps, but massive food shortages because of the cost of Diesel and transportation..... and or huge price increases... and huge increases in heating fuel..

All because of a war we're not involved in..its just sickening !

Good morning to everyone. It is warm and sunny today, temperature at 82.

I had a delivery scheduled from Walmart this morning and the driver got lost and couldn't deliver my order so took it back to the store. They must not have had the tracking in their car, so now I had to reorder for this afternoon. I complained but now it is solved, I guess.

Too bad @hollydolly about your doctor appointment. I understand you being upset by this. It does make one wonder about mail delivery and like you say the gas and diesel problem. I hope it gets settled, soon.

Everyone, have a good day and I am wishing you well, too.

Holly, nearly everyone here is "not involved" with it either. Even the professional pundits can't seem to figure out why we are at war with Iran.
It was inflicted on all of us.

Our prices are steadily going up also, though it's not as bad (yet) as what you are describing. My sympathies. (The biopsy results are probably good, otherwise I assume they would have called or emailed you. Or is that assuming too much?)

Sunny I'm not talking about people personally. I know you or any of your fellow countrymen aside from the govt... are not to blame I'm talking about countries.

If as a country you're involved in a war, frusttrting as it might be for the citizens, you swallow it because that's what your leader has decided is best for you as a country. You have to accept things will be difficult... prices rises, shortages etc

America has decided that...they will be involved in a war.. as has Iran and Israel

the UK has not.. so we should not be suffering....and worse than the warring countries..... for the decisions of another country's leader... ..no matter what anyone says,

..and I'm not going to say any more because this will become politcal
