Our garden on a rare rainy day.

Some 50 years ago, I bought 2 1/2 acres for $20K, divided them into 4 parcels each being worth now >$100K.
It's the best investment I have ever made in my life. But because of old age, I gifted 3 of them to my children.

We designed the house ourselves and had it built our way. I also built myself 4 carports, a shed, etc.

Besides that I am no longer able to play with them, the pups are my 24/7 buddies and have a good life. Under the
unfinished structure is our pet cemetery holding over a dozen loved ones.

In retirement, I bet, my wife will dedicate her life to her neglected gardens.

Beautiful , do you have mosquito fish , endlers , etc ?

Thanks for asking @Georgiagranny ..I think today is the worst day so far..... I hate to whine on, but I really thought i might die this morning..I really thought this might be the way I go......not exagerating... 🙁

I got up at 6am,..( it's 12.45 pm now )... and goodness knows how I made a cup of tea and took the meds ...but I did.. barely could walk..literally dragging my body through the house.. ..sat down on the sofa and tried to watch some comedy reruns...of Cheers... first time in memory that nothing made me laugh, i was just not able to concentrate.. head pounding, cheekbones felt like Mike Tyson had used my face as a sparring partner...

fell asleep again at 9am still there on the sofa... woke up at 12.15pm.. with less pain in my face and head.. and able to get up and walk around a litttle easier...

It's a beautiful sunny day.. there's no chance I'll be able to even go into the garden...

I wish I knew who gave me this.. or even what the hell it is...😟
Well, that's not good! I hope that's the peak and you get better from here. Sounds like the flu maybe. Here's some soup. 🍜

We got our Friday special fajitas yesterday. They were particularly good!
I'm having coffee and prepping a to do list. Grands are coming this week for a few days.
Someone told me yesterday that an old coworker of mine had died. I had no idea. He died in 21! How could I have missed that. 😒
I looked up his obit and found out his wife died in August of complications of dementia. He died in October in his sleep. They say he'd had a stroke before this and was never the same. Very sad. 76 yrs young.
A lot of my coworkers are gone. Inevitable but sad.
Anyway, I'm still here and don't plan on going anywhere soon.

Think about RSV Holly. Are these symptoms different than you remember getting before with a cold or flu ? It can be tough on us seniors. Nasal spray may help with sinus headaches. I didn't feel tired with Noro Virus. Just constant runny nose, hoarse voice and light cough like hack, discomfort in the abdominal track! Naval Cities seem to have had it.
Kennedy is making whack-O comments about Measels in the south, here in the states.

So many who don't know crap need to have unplugged.

It's going into the 80's F. here today, picking up the Grandson, Suppose to have heavy weather this evening, Spring HS School Musical Saturday.
Sunlight is the plan, house screens are open for fresh air out.
I never heard of RSV, until you mentioned it and I looked it up.. and all the symptoms match..except for the ''light cough''... that's where it differs.. the cough has been horrendous to the point where the doctor has given me asthma inhalers to help with my breathing.. i still have the hacking cough really badly, my throat is not nor has it been painful but my voice has been hoarse for 4 days, I sound like a man when I speak..

Last night was the first night in 4 that I got 4 hours sleep without apnea... I've never suffered from that before, but I just kept losing the ability to breathe as soon as I laid down or fell asleep , and i will choke..

Today I feel a little better.. despite still having the hacking cough , but at east the painul compression around my rib cage has eased off with the help of the anibiotics... that was pretty bad, it felt like i had a tight belt strapped aroun my chest..

yesterday was the worst day of all..but I hope I've started to turn the corner now...

I'm going to say this came out of the blue and was a huge shock to me.. I think of myself as being pretty healthy overall... and here I was flattened and really ill with something that came from nowhere..

Having that meant I couldn't even get in the shower much less tidy the house or wash dishes mainly .... I could barely breath or drag myself around, and it occured to me just how difficult it must be or those whith chronic ill health who live alone with no help.. and how that could be me easily again in the future...

Today I've been able to wash the dishes, and do some laundry... and that has exhausted me...

The last two days, I measured one inch of rain at our house for a total of 3 1/2" for almost a year. But at the Big Bear Lake, located 7,000 feet high in the San Bernardino Mountains, it looks "cool" that is, plenty of snow. No big deal for people in the northern U.S. States, but for us it's exciting.

I used to go skiing here www.bigbearmountainresort.com ..........keeping the 3 one-week old eaglets warm www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4-L2nfGcuE

But down here in the valley at 1,200 feet altitude, flowers are blooming in my wife's garden.

This is an earlier picture of Mt. San Gorgonio, 13,500 feet altitude.
When the current rain clouds are gone and we can see again the mountains, then it will look like on this picture.

Hollydolly, glad you are feeling better. What you are going through, reminded me what I had around Xmas time. I got a head cold, very congested but couldn't;t stop coughing thru the night. A friend took me to Urgent Care where nurse practioner told me I had pneumonia, put me on 4 meds including an inhaler{ never had before} I didn't go outside to take my walks , had no energy to do so, slept all hrs of the day. I finally felt better 10 days later Sue

Fell asleep without posting last night. Yesterday I spent the morning getting ready for the a.m. appointment with my primary care doctor. I love going to see him. I waited a bit longer than I would like, but I know that's because he takes time with all his patients. He spent close to an hour with me, addressing my concerns and answering questions, mostly about my newest RX. I took Lyfts there and back. The Lyft driver home was such a personable young man and we had a nice conversation that earned him a tip. Before I changed into my house clothes, I took out the recyclable bottles.

In the evening,, my son brought home a lot of items from Costco. He bought a few items and I bought double of some things like dry Swiffers, which were on sale and Kirkland agave, a "product of Mexico". Since hearing about the tariffs, every time he goes, I get 2 double packs. Don't know when or if the price will increase. Costco is good about holding prices steady for its members. I put away some of the items last night.

This morning, my son and I made prayer together, which was nice. I'd like us to start doing this every weekend. After that I got busy putting away the rest of the Costco haul, which involved bending, lifting, twisting, pulling and pushing to get things reorganized and make room. I was tired before sunrise. I feel like if I don't do another thing today....I'm good. :D

Sue..I personally I think this has been pneumonia..I've had it twice in the past so I know the symptoms, but of course being unable to see a doctor I can't be sure.. .. it's stil ongoing, I'm still taking the meds, and the cough is still bad.. but at least it's better than it has been this last few days..

Good Morning, Everyone 🤗 🌻 :coffee:

I was confused about the delivery day of my spin bike and it actually came yesterday!

We've done the minimal assembly and it's all set up in the master bedroom. I've had one ride and it's comfortable enough and surprisingly quiet.

My one little compliant is that it came with those metal, jagged edged petals that require shoes. I prefer to treadmill or bike (indoors) in bare feet which is not possible with those type of petals.

It's a minor thing though and I'll wear shoes for now and order some replacement petals on Amazon.

Hope everyone is feeling good this morning. :)

Yesterday was sunny ,, temp reached the 70s!

Hubby had a busy morning, then rested for awhile after lunch.

After I walked the dog suggested, to hubby that walk would help his legs.

Next thing ,, he's found paint & is going to paint the floor of back porch!!

I hadn't got a chance to scarp up the loose old paint.

He started on the end that didn't need work on it.
I worked on the end of porch that got the most beating from the weather.

He ran out of paint & grabbed another can of brown paint.
It was a different shade of brown & not glossily.

Wonder if I can sneak in a new can of paint that's like the first can?

We need to move the porch swing,,paint where it was.

My 5 year old great-granddaughter just burst into my house anxious to go to the birthday party for my youngest son who is 39 years old today and a middle school principal. She has a 20” world globe for his office desk and says she’s craving a piece of cake. We’re now going to go for a walk to the town dog park to watch the puppies run, stumble and tumble. I’m VERY happy she’s not asking me to go skateboarding with her again, my backside can’t handle that anymore.

Good morning Medusa. Congratulations on your new bike. Don't ya hate having to assemble things! It's great that it's quiet. I hope you'll get many years of enjoyment with it.

you're the opposite to me..I hate to be on my treadmill in bare feet, I always put on trainers first

I don't know if I properly thanked you for this: Early in the pandemic, you mentioned buying an extra case of Costco shelf-stable almond milk for backup. I copied your action, have continued it, and even extended it to soy and oat milks. (I devised a Frankestein combination of the three for a creamy mix to lighten my coffee. Almond is my go-to for other uses).

The cases are compact, Costco's SS plant milk prices are the best I've found for plant milks, SS or fresh, and the long expiration dates mean no worries about it spoiling before I'm ready to pop it in the fridge to use a container.

Thanks again for that!
