I just spent an hour or so with a drill, and screws.., assembling a faux marble side table..

I was able to do it because I could sit down while doing it... unlike the assembly of the mower..

We have mostly flowers in our garden but also some fruit bearing ones. Actually, years ago we had 20 fruit trees but
nematodes killed them, and I didn't like the frequent poison spraying to kill that pest.

Lemon flowers left and orange flowers right look quite similar. Citrus trees are grafted on stock that is nematode resistant.

Pomegranates: one flower and one fruit is already forming.

Boysenberries..........................................................................................I missed the flower but the persimmon fruit is already growing.

Well I bit the bullet because my lawn needs cutting badly... so I braved it, and assembled the mower.. The mower was actually quite easy to assemble eve tho' my back hurt .. but the devil of a grass box was another thing altogether, a flimsy plastic thing that just would not clip together . Took me 40 minutes to put the grass box together..

Anyway I started to mow, and the mower cuts out after every 3 yards or so... and the grass box unlike my current one, fills up after the same amount of time.. so I only got cutting a few feet and the grass box was full... however the final straw was that when the garsss box get taken out to empty ..and it's very light because it hardly holds any grass.. the handle falls off.. and all the clippings fall on the lawn... :cautious::cautious: wh at an absolute piece of Junk. I've never known a mower like this...

I'me returning it.. what waste of money... it's called EinHELL.. aptly named

Well I got that machine boxed up, and arranged for it to be returned, and they will collect it later this week...

trouble is now, I've got to find another one because my grass needs cutting .. I can't face all that checking reviews again...so soon...

my back took the full brunt of it all.. and I have another heatpad on me again..... but fortunately I didn't have to cook because my wonderful neighbour brought me this, just as I'd finished boxing up the mower...

Please buy a John Deer or a yard roomba

I'm laughing at a review left for this Hell machine... at one of our catalogue stores... they described it thus,......they couldn't be more correct, I wish I'd read that review before I bought it... I'm convinced amazon hides half the bad reviews.. I might copy this review onto Amazon :D

The instructions for loading the charged battery should state that the battery needs to be inserted very firmly. The grass collector is almost impossible to assemble. It is a piece of impertinence that such a thing can be sold to the public as being ‘easy’ to assemble; it is not. And there is no guidance on this to assemble it.

Yesterday I hit GW to see if they had some foam cushioning. Well, they didn't...butttt...they did have a 5' long end table for $0.99 cents. In my change, a fair 1936 Buffalo Nickel....

Right, I've text the gardener, to ask if he can come and do the hedges this week, and while he's here he can mow the lawns seeing as he was the cause of all this hassle having to buy a new mower...

It's supposed to be a really gorgeous week this coming week..I have an appointment mid-day tomorrow which is a shame because I could have gone somewhere if it had been earlier...

Wednesday again mid-day appt with the consultant.. so really I only have tuesday & thursday... to go somewhere nice..if my back will allow...

Friday the People are coming to collect the mower so I have to wait in for that...

Bird migrations are heavy right now. Thick enough to show up on doppler weather radar.

I haven't spotted too many of our bi-annual transients yet, but several people have posted photos of the stopping-over white pelicans on a few lakes near me. These aren't passing through but actually looking for places to nest and reproduce. For the last few decades they've been expanding their nesting range eastward.

With its 9-foot wingspan, the American white pelican is one of North America’s largest birds and feeds primarily on fish, according to the Audubon Society.

Nice hair

I played in the dirt most of the day. Took a three-hour break (and a short nap) from 1 until 4, then went out to mow the lawn. My SunJoe's battery ran out so it's being recharged now so that I can use it tomorrow.

Every time I think I'm all done in the garden, I find something else I want to do...rearrange some plants, move a few pots... A gardener's work, like a mother's, is never done:). When I say I'm "done" in the garden, what I really mean is "for now."

@hollydolly Bummer about your crappy new mower. I hope you write a scathing review and tell folks to save their money.

Remember when my new Keurig died about a week ago? Yeah, well, I returned the old one and Amazon said they'd credit my account. They did. Twice. First they charged me for the new one, then credited my account when it was shipped. Then they credited my account for the first one, and that one showed up in my account this morning. There was a huge difference in price...don't rightly remember, but I think it was close to $40. What it amounts to is that I got a free Keurig. Ok, then!

ETA: Hey, BTW, who's going to step up to be my mentor? Seems I've been striving for mediocrity all my life and according to the public service spots I've been seeing on TV, my mentor is going to unlock my potential. Whoever you are, please step up. It's not like I have a lot of time, yanno?

Left: Is anyone bored out there? Any help is appreciated. My son-in-law didn't finish the job yesterday. So, now I have to do it.
Right: While cutting grass today, I scared an Alligator Lizard that is perhaps three times as long as a normal lizard.

Left: Blue Jays are nesting in our garden, and I think this is their baby.
Right: I am spraying an in-ground wasp nest with foam that is supposed to motivate them to live elsewhere.

Right: Tomorrow is my younger daughter's 43rd B-Day. This picture is 25 years old (taken on an Alaska cruise) but she is still
beautiful and will always be my sweetheart. At 5 y/o she gave me her best cards under the table because she wanted daddy to win.
Up to age 7, she wanted to marry me; and then she wanted to become a doctor to take care of me when I grow old. She is now an R.N.
