On Sundays, I put on a comfortable house dress. I choose among 3 in summer and 3 in winter that I rotate. 👍🏽
That's called a girl suit. I don't own any. Nope. Not one.
I recall women commonly wearing house dresses back in the 50s & 60s. My mom continued the habit until her early 90s, as did a neighbor of mine in that same age group.

As a little kid, I swore to myself that I'd never wear them - and never have. Unless I'm so ill I'll be staying in bed for the day (in which case I stay in pjs or put on a tee and sweatpants), when I hit the bathroom first thing in the morning, I don't exit until showered and fully dressed in the "street clothes" I placed in there the night before.

Immediately getting out of PJs and into ready-for-the-day clothes is a habit formed during days of early morning commutes. I rarely needed more than 30 minutes after awakening before getting on the road with a travel mug of coffee by my side.

House dresses - Schmatas! My mother always wore them too. I told you before, SF, that Neil Diamond's parents owned a Schmata store near me. They called it 'Diamond's.' Like you, Star, I swore I'd never wear them, and never have!

Oh yes, those days where I could dress & leave home for work in under 30 minutes. It now takes me 3-4 hours to be waked & dressed. If I have to leave my home early, I must get up 3 or 4 am. If I don't, I'm too tired and achy and stiff.

Was up at four-ish, tried to stay awake but no.
Slept till 10:30!

Light rain yesterday and over night, but it's sunny and no sign of the big snow. Maybe later.

Went to the store again yesterday as I wanted Italian sausage and fresh parsley. It wasn't crowded. Overheard 2 women talking about a different store that was so full, there were no parking spaces at all.

Didn't vacuum yesterday. *sigh* Looks like today.
Happy day, All!

Darn. Just found out there’s been a recall because of salmonella in eggs. It’s the brand I buy and I don’t have the package. I just used six of them in egg salad and have only ate a little of it. The only good news is that I only had two left and needed three for my large batch of muffins I was going to make. I’d hate having to throw those away.

There’s already a shortage of eggs in BC, because many farms had to depopulate their stock because of Avian flu.

Oh Jules, please be careful!

How is my day? Fabulous! I had my Occipital Nerve Block on Friday and other than having to wait for three hours for my ride home, it went well. The first 12 hours you're almost pain free from the numbing agent. Then it's best to take something for pain or that will make you sleep as the next 12 hours are typically not as good. They always tell me that it can't take up to two weeks for the steroids to work, or they may not work at all. But in 14 years I have never had one take longer that two days to start working, and none have failed to work at all. I'm lucky I guess.

I had a really bad run of Fibromyalgia a couple of times. My arms and legs hurt bad and I was having a really hard time doing anything. My Doctor in Eureka told me that an ONB would only work on my arms. I was very happy he was wrong.

Anyway, it hasn't even been two full days yet, I had the shots at 1:00 PM on Friday, and I feel so much better. I'm not 100% pain free, but I never am. These shots don't do that. But they do cut it back to a point where I can function. Such I am typing normally now, where as for the past 5 weeks of so I was only able to type with one finger. And to a wordy cuss like me, that's torture!

Edit: I wish I had seen this before I posted this. This is how I feel today!

Please come by when you are done vacuuming:>)

We got more snow last night, so I guess I won't be going anywhere for a while again. 😞. It really puts me behind schedule for my daily routine. I usually start making breakfast at 8:00. It was after 8 when I first started my breakfast!

@hawkdon thanks for reminding me about Grimm....I've only seen a few episodes when it first came out, and I was hoping to get back to it!

I started watching Castle.....💕 Nathan Fillian, ever since I watched Firefly!

I didn't put Christmas decorations away yesterday - DH & I declared a lazy day and took full advantage of it.

Was planning on it today but TGS has apparently been asking to come to Tootsie Pops. His wish is our command.
Chores can wait - we'd rather save our time with him. Our little guy will develop wider interests before we know it.

My neighbor lady is same age as DH and I; 70 this year. She is a lovely Korean woman who has worked like a dog all her life, as an immigrant in 1980 to NYC. She moved to Tucson only 4 years ago to "retire". Bought her house for cash: no small feat at 300K. She saved every dime she could make, working 14-16 hour days in NYC, owned a "Sandwich Shop".

She still works two days a week, usually Sat and Sun for "play money and to stay busy"; making Asian food for a major supermarket deli. One of her co-workers is taking off her shift of Mon-Fri for vacation the next two weeks. So my neighbor is picking up ALL those shifts for two weeks for her.

So I decided to cook for my neighbor last night, so she would not have to fix her own dinner and eat alone.
Pot roast, carrots, celery, mashed potatoes and gravy. Cherry cobbler and vanilla ice cream for dessert.

She asked me why "The special dinner tonight?".
I said: "Because you are a special person, you've work so hard all your life and never complain."

She just beamed and got tears in her eyes. We understand each other. It felt right.
Good on ya !

From googling, it looks like hard boiled eggs and eggs in baked goods are safe because a long-enough-hot-enough time kills virtually all of the salmonella.

Hubby called his sister to see if her heating system was operating , correctly.

It was working good enough that she even had heat upstairs!

Meantime , hubby has aches all over, can barely walk!

When I did the laundry yesterday, noticed a small leak,,coming I thought from a filter that was for ice maker in the fridge.

He checked it,this morning, said it is from the fridge. !!

I'll get a flashlight to shine under it,,,maybe I can see where or what is leaking.

Not sure how old fridge is.

Today was a good day. Likkle Grandson got up this morning and was asking questions about how big dinosaurs were and how big their bones were. Two hours later he's finding out for himself in the National History Museum, Liverpool. He had a fab time! Although the dinosaur questions got us there he was most impressed by the Space & Science section.

Ugh. Can't wake up today. Very grey still day outside which I hate. Saw a bit of sun the other day but need more. The building is very quiet as usual. I have a cold now for almost 2 weeks and my entire head itches, I am sneezing and have clogged sinuses so I can't breathe and a headache.

Housekeeper is here tomorrow and hopefully she will bring the sun with.

Be well, ya'll

Feel better soon, @dusty 🌹

DH & I have a 32' 5th wheel. If I remember the stats correctly, we have about 300 SF of living space when the slides are popped. Very comfortable for two people who get along well. Our longest trip was 4-5 weeks, and while it's always nice to come home after a vacation, I can't say I missed anything in particular about my house.

I much prefer staying in our RV over even very nice hotels and am sure it's the same for you. Do you stay in RV parks when you're using it for work or boondock?

Slides make so much of a difference in an RV but Class Bs don't have them since they're cargo van based. With the 5th wheel, do y'all set up camp for several days? As for your question about where I stay for work, in cooler weather, I stay in the parking lot at work for a couple of nights but then usually stay at a campground to dump my very small gray tank and fill up my also very small fresh water tank. If I need AC all night, I stay at campgrounds only That may change, though, since I have a new inverter generator that's super quiet.

And definitely prefer the van over any hotel!

If it ain't one thing it is another! Spoil your hubby today. He can fix the leak to.orrow.

I know many of you are shivering right now in freezing temperatures. Living in sunny California, however, I do know what snow is all about. Just look at my pictures. During WWII my mother took us children away from Berlin to a peaceful place near the Swiss/Austrian border, called Scheidegg. My only memory of WWII is when Moroccans on donkeys, serving in the French army, came and bargained with farmers for some chickens.

Old friends from Scheidegg just sent me these pictures. Yes, that's where I lived, and I am familiar with living in freezing temperatures.

We stayed in this hotel during our last visit in 2019 (in summer without the snow.) In front is an ice-covered fish pond.

And during our visit in 2019, we didn't see a horse but plenty of cows with bells around their neck that sounded so peaceful.
