Good morning, everyone. A nice sunny day and cooler. It looks like fall is in the air, the leaves are starting to turn.

@Pepper, is it possible to move to a care home where there are other people? My sister lives in one and they have games, dinners and social events. It helps her from being lonely. She is in a wheelchair and has other medical problems. I really hope you feel better and can get some help. 🤗

@hawkdon, I feel your pain in your words. I have pain in my feet and sometimes I feel I cannot walk properly but like you, one has to keep going. I really hope the best for you.🤗

Everyone, hope you enjoy your day.:)

And what happens to my cats? Years ago, my mother checked out local places. She would have had to have a roommate, otherwise too expensive, and she had Money. No roommate. Just kill me.

Thank you for your suggestion, though

Heat finally broke and humidity dropped so I got busy. Turned the old compost site into a new plant area. Then got out the mower and went to town on the acreage. After that, came weed eating time for all the edges. Decided to head for the shop and fire up the 2 cars in there, (big red and the Camaro), as it's been months since we used them.
Now, it's time for breakfast and a little internet.

My son told me I don't understand how ultra sound works. All I know is, test was SILENT, no noise, no indication of anything healthy. I have No Blood Flow through my legs, arteries all blocked. Don't know how I'm walking. Wake up with extreme pain in left foot, takes hours to feel better.

The loneliness has gotten to me. It's very frightening to always do important things Alone. Therapists can't change the lonely reality of my life. Really can't stand being alone anymore, enough. It's my reality, and it's becoming unbearable. More challenges ahead, not less.
You do understand that you're talking to a lot of us who live alone, don't you ?

either you and your wife have to come and live here near me... or I will have to come and live near you... lol

Yes, and we are all human beings. Most of us have two eyes, arms & legs. We are more alike than we are different. I'm expressing thoughts about Myself, not Yourself, or Theirselves. mplaint, your real pWhat's your cooint?
My point is this... we're all are suffering the same way...those of us who live alone, who have to attend appointments medical or otherwise.. alone. Many of us are in pain.. with one or various issues....but we don't constantly complain about it.... ..

I don't mind listening to you or anyone whose suffering including myself... but everyone else tries to help themselves.. you just seem to want to wallow in your suffering...sorry but that's the truth

Have you checked into them recently? Every AL we investigated permitted pets. Yes, Assisted Livings can be spendy, but the only way to know if they're out of your price range is to look into a few.

I agree with @Rae that AL socializing opportunities are varied, interesting and engaging.

The local nonprofit Jewish Home for the Ageing has a spectacular reputation - and serves people of all faiths and ethnicities.

Just a thought.

I have a great idea. Don't read my posts. I'm feeling the way I'm feeling, expressing the way *I* am feeling. If it makes me feel better to discuss my life I will continue to do so.

The Jewish homes have a five year waiting list. I will not move to a "bad" neighborhood in Queens, thank you. I'm not interested in the Bronx.. IYou think I didn't look? Jeez, of course I have. Two cats would never be permitted. One, maybe. I have no price range, dear starsong. I'm broke. I'm here in my coop till I leave feet first.

@Pepper, you mentioned that your mother looked into those places years ago, but didn't say you'd recently investigated them yourself. I don't know one Queens neighborhood from the next.

Couldn't you sell your co-op and fund AL monthly costs with the proceeds? You seem to be miserable where you are - we're all just trying to help you see that perhaps you're not as stuck as you imagine.

8:30am this September 14, 2025 Sunday morning am now definitely on the way to recovering from COVID-19 at day 6. Another quiet recovery day at home. No attending mass over the next couple weeks but will watch a tv mass later. Looks like a 10am 49ers versus Saints NFL game on tv. May this afternoon, start backing up some recent year computer data onto another duplicate hard drive.

Forecast high temperatures today show a near average high of 81F that changes to a hot 90F+ the following 3 days. So this morning with sunrise at 58F given a lack of AC, opened all my windows letting cooler overnight air in, and will tend to leave unnecessary power off. That has brought my residence with mediocre wall and window insulation down to 67.5F upstairs and 68.4 upstairs.

Looking at the SF thread listings, am glad to see Matrix wisely quickly fully deleted the national news thread that had started herein on the wrong track with postings, and for which I warned given some obscure website information I'd found without details, could lead to unnecessary painful discussion.

Pleased you're on the mend from Covid, David... I don't know how many times you may have had it in the past, but the one time I got it.. it was horrible... like nothing I'd experienced before... Fortunately mine didn't last more than a week...

I suspect you're mingling with crowds of people was what caused it..somewhere along the line.. but what do you do ?...you can only ensure your vaccines are current...

Left: Last Tuesday, my older daughter returned from Australia. On September 9, she left Sydney at 9:26 AM and landed in Los Angeles the same day but four hours earlier. Time warp? Astronomical worm hole? Well, there is the international date line at 180 degrees longitude in the Pacific Ocean. When you cross it from East to West, one day disappears; but crossing it from West to East, you suddenly have twice the same day. Wow. The astronomers at the Greenwich Observatory near London invented that magic trick a long time ago.
Right: At this very moment, my older daughter is flying to Panama City, Panama, where she will be living the next three weeks. Ten years ago, my wife and I crossed the Panama Canal on a cruise ship. When my daughter comes back, my wife and daughter will visit relatives in Canada. I am worried. With all that travelling, my daughter might neglect her online studies for a master's degree for which I am paying. I don't like it, but what can I do?

When my Boxer dog was still a little puppy, I took him and two other pups on a walk. Well, with his nose on the ground, my puppy bumped into this
metal ornament and instantly panicked. He took off and pulled me down kissing the dirt. I didn't take my puppy this way a second time.

Our little town has so many beautiful, flowering trees.

Thanks. Was one of the last to come down with the disease in October of 2023, just after attending the huge 3-day Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival that was no doubt the likeliest source. I seem to be healing faster this time as that took 2 weeks just for sinus issues to end and 4 weeks before socializing again.

My guess, is I contacted the disease, not through close air contact, despite being around others, but rather, many times used a group of water containers with hand operated faucets, many others also touched, that I then inadvertently, stuck fingers about my nose or eyes. An often almost automatic human habit with subtle facial itching, difficult to avoid. May also brainstorm a way to open the faucets without using bare fingers or wearing awkward gloves?

Given a dramatic increase of the disease in the region, this thread gives me motivation to provide some feedback to the festival folks, (2+ weeks ahead) to provide a simple hand washing station, right beside the water stations with face touching warnings.
