Pepper...never mind a wearing a babushka... you are already one....! ..

Listen, you're complaining about being 4'11.. there are people on here who are 4.11 or 5 feet... now you're being heightest to them.... stop ...lol

In all seriousness, just think..so what... you're still alive, you don't have life threatening illnesses, you're not going out on the dating scene looking for a 6 foot man .. so what !....

I've just contacted a handyman, to see if I can get a few jobs done around here. I'm capable of doing quite a lot myself.. but the OA in my hands now stops that..and some things are just too big for me..

For example, I need soething to stop the leaks in my barn roof... I need the latch on my gate to be fixed so it doesn't keep opening if I undo the bolt.. I need a couple of pictures hung that are very heavy so they need a masonary drill to get into the brick.. I need a blind replacing.. and a few bits like this...

All jobs the soon2BX would have done without any problems had he been here...

Anyway he's gonna come one day next week and have a look at everything see what's what.... he doesn't seem to think any of it will be a problem..., so let's hope so...

When I used to be 5'4" my husband was 6'1". Surprisingly, we did not look like Mutt & Jeff:

Yes, you may be right, Holly, but I feel shocked & cheated. When I see tall women on the street, and they are getting taller & taller, I must stop myself from complimenting them profusely and asking what is it like to be so lucky?

it's very true...women are very, very much taller than they were when we were young. The govt tries to tell us that the average height for women is 5'3..well that's nonsense.. the women around here..are all close to 6 feet.... and the kids , at 13 and 14 are almost that height now..

I'm often in town when the schools come out and the kids all venture into the town centre, and it's like being in the land of the redwoods... 15 and 16 year old boys 6.4'' etc..girl age just 12 and 13 not only tall but very weighty.. and looking like a grown woman, except dressed in school uniform...with little girl faces

It was a 'pie production line' this morning - a dozen steak and kidney, and a dozen steak and vegetable pies all now in the freezer. I'm just cooking liver and onions for dinner. After a morning spent cooking, I just want something nice and easy to prepare for dinner.

I've just renewed my National Trust membership for the year. That's another thing that's getting dearer, but I only have to visit 4 or 5 properties to be 'quids in'. There's also a free 'bring a guest' voucher, so I'll ask DD where she would like to visit in the summer.

Sounds like a productive morning which now requires a break for the kitchen fairy.

Do you top your pies with pastry before you freeze them ..or leave it until you're about to cook them ?..

How much is NT membership now ?

Good morning. It has taken me a bit to get my heart started and my eyes open.

There was thunder so loud last night that it jolted me right outta the bed and more than once. It appears that the rain is done and the storms are over now. The sun might come out this afternoon, and it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow. However...it ain't spring yet! Our low temp tonight will be in the 20s.

@-Oy- is either on the way or already home. Why is it that when we look forward to something it seems to take forever to arrive, but when it's past, it feels like it never happened?

Thirty-five days until spring. Count 'em 👉 35 👈 count 'em.

Today is laundry day. I think that's the sum total of what's on the agenda.

I was just thinking, had a weird dream last night... it centred around the fact that I'd got together with a man..both of us were much younger.. and he had a baby... and he was gay.. and I didn't care about him being gay.. but in the dream we were trying to find a home and having the baby was preventing us from doing that.. ..there was lots of weird parts to this dream.. but I didn't know the man in the dreams... and I kept saying to him don't look at me in the mornings because I look like a tsunami has hit my face.. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
At one point in the dream, I was wandering around looking to find a public Sauna *whaaat*...

We top the pies before freezing - a bit better for storing them.

National Trust and the National trust for Scotland have reciprocal benefits, but the NTS is cheaper.
NT joint adults costs £ 151 a year while NTS joint costs £131 for adults, but only £104 for joint Seniors. NT does give a 25% discount for seniors with 3+ years membership. Seems expensive, but if you enjoy visiting historic buildings and sites, it's well worth it. Parking is free for Trust members at most venues.

Another pass and I got the last 4 inches of overnight snow cleared. Total just about 8 inches. Full sun, despite the forecast.

Went inside, road plows came by and made a mess along the curbs and apron at the bottoms of driveways. Before I got to it (chatty neighbors) the mail carrier came through, drove over it, and packed it down. As soon as I could, I got to it and slogged through that. Dug out the apron and the curb the mail carrier needs access to in order to reach the mailbox.

Across the street, neighbors have cleared their fronting sidewalks. Mine is clear, but my neighbors to my left and right seem to be playing possum. But they both work, so perhaps they just didn't get around to it this morning. I hope it isn't really wet and heavy for them once they get home. Maybe the old fart a few doors down with a riding lawn tractor with a snowblower will get bored and go out and do theirs for them.

For the time being we only have one car, well I forgot, we also have the MG, but that's 78 years old and hibernates for most of the winter. My wife has an appointment at the hairdresser so we were both up and scrubbed up and breakfast all but on the go. My lady dropped me off at work, drove home and got herself ready to go off for the day.

At work I was moving vehicles around for the first hour, then off to a new account to show them how to. Me, showing people a computerised system, me, seriously. Think I will make a note of that. Later I ran a truck to the service centre and had a lift back. Time for a quick coffee and brief the general manager about that new customer. He said that they had called and weren't sure of certain aspects.

Back at the new account's premises we went through the procedure a couple of times, then the manager collected me and ran me to the service centre. I collected the truck, then, as asked, I collected a load from a customer on the same industrial estate. It was gone five before I finished and a text from my wife telling me that she would be leaving the hairdressers shortly, meant she too would have a late day.

Looks like a take away tonight!

I made it into town. Well, the next town. Full size trucks in the ditches is not an encouraging sign. The parking lot at Sprouts was a sheet of ice and only one way to get to the main road with a red light. I got halfway up the incline and that was the end of it. Slip, slide, twist and turn. Scared the XYZ out of me to be totally helpless. I grew up in snow country. Brand new tires. No traffic. That was my luck. Truck made funny sounds and I pulled over several times to check tires. No, not it. I will have to confess when SO comes home.

Landed and now on the train from the Airport back home. Well - a taxi home when we get off the train. Looking forward to a proper English craft beer or three :)
