I went with SO to his spinal surgeon. Info needs to be digested.

He dragged me shoe shopping. He is a wizzard in a store. Thirty pair later I succumbed to taking three home. One a butter soft pair of Madden Girl ballerinas. House shoes:>)

The repair parts for the hot water dispenser do not work. A new dispender it is.

My goal in 2025 is to get out there more. I had a lot of medical issues last year, in addition to moving to a new state. I also have social anxiety.

Well, I joined a club of senior ladies who go out several times a month. We had lunch today at Longhorn Steakhouse. There were 16 of us. I had a good time and didn’t feel anxious at all.

I plan to attend at least 2x a month. Most of the activities revolve around various card games, which I don’t do but I’ve been encouraged to at least try some of those meetings.

I’m glad I didn’t get too complacent and comfortable in my own company because it’s nice to get out there once in awhile.
 
Sorry to hear about your fall @hawkdon I hope you are feeling better.

The misty morning turned into a nice day. Had a nice walk and there weren't many people at the supermarket so, it was nice and relaxed. It was a little chilly walking home but, sunny too.

Got to go visiting on Friday but, hopefully, tomorrow will be another relaxed day.

An update from my morning post, the papers were delivered at 9am I got both today&yesterday's NYT
My church friend, Skip's girl friend, Catherine couldn't; come for lunch,she had emergency dentist appt this morning-Yikes!
My afternoon walk among falling snow flakes I walked down the street to local co op,didn't;t buy anything just picked up latest flyer walked back.The sun was trying to come out,temp was 25
 
I had the most useless appointment at the VA today. After waiting I didn't even see a doctor. Just a nurse who asked ME why I was there. Didn't know anything or even look anything up. I had to tell him everything that was going on how important everything is was happening with Oncology for a future appointment. He just said I'll get a call to to setup an appointment. He definitely didn't know what he was doing. I'm definitely going to complain about this one. Less than a rookie 👎

I've had a very difficult 24 hours. Sometimes things just feel useless and futile, don't they? I spent yesterday night be shouted at on the phone, knowing is was an alcohol fueled anger and I just had to listen and take the hit. But it was more wounding that I admitted, and I hoped a new day would be recovery enough. But that heaviness is still with me right now.

I'm trying to distract myself. I put music on, turned the lights blue, and had a foreign movie playing (works well when music is playing, because you can read the subs to keep up). That worked, and the swordsman saved the young girl and found peace (it was a chinese movie). Then needed air and took the dog out.

Going to watch a Swedish movie now. No, not THAT kind of Swedish movie.
 
Bought a second carport tent and put it up for my tractor. Took the old one and moved it alongside the new one and stored a bunch of garden stuff in it.
Plus, I bought the 1/2 acre lot next to me and hired a skid steer mulcher rig to clear some of it. Then I went to work cutting down the larger tree's so he could munch them up. Long day, and a lot of tree's, but worth it.

That is awful. Are you doing CA treatment via the VA?

Drove in the snow today to retrieve my old pickup from the shop. A few weeks ago it started locking up in park and refusing to go into any other gear unless I danced and stomped on the brake pedal while vigorously stirring the shift lever for a variable period of time. A new cable system and nearly $400 later, it is behaving itself again. I wonder which will drop dead first; the 22 year old Dakota or the much older me.

Been up since 245am. Mind very alert, hyper even.

Had a wonderful day with grandson. Love him more each day, even though he is growing so fast now. As my mother said "Once they start school.........."

We have a good relationship. I hope I live long to see him be a man........that's not so far away, 12 years, I can make 12 more years??

I want to see him. He drew our solar system and gave it to me to take home & hang up. I'm so proud of his work, and that he gave me such a precious gift.

So, starting off day with only four hours sleep.

I'm going out shortly.. first I have to go to my neighbour and take her dishes back and give a gift of some wine..in thanks for last weeks' BBQ feast that she sent around...

Then I'm off up the motorway... to go and fetch something that my DD needs...

I forgot to say yesterday I went to the theatre... not to see anything but just to have a look around at our newly built £30 million pound theatre... all I can say is... someone, somewhere has got rich...

Morning folks.....I made it thru the nite, no more falls, very damn sore tho, all over. Last eve I used some pain patches,
4 on right buttock/hip, two on right knee, 5 total bandaids
on left arm/wrist. So thats the score, not up to anything today
for anyone anywhere LOL...gawd this gets tiresome.....thanks

Good grief, @hawkdon! You probably shouldn't take any of those bandaids and pain patches off...they're holding all your parts together ;)

Would you believe that it's 60F? Our fake spring continues for another day. And the punishing, frog-strangling rain that was supposed to start around 5pm yesterday and got moved to 6, then 8, then 10, didn't happen at all. Nope. Not a drop and none in the forecast for today.

Something else...on the first Wednesday of every month, year round, the tornado sirens are tested at precisely 12 noon. It's been so ever since I can remember. Yesterday it didn't happen. No explanation. How odd.

And the good news is...wait for it...not only my federal tax refund but my state tax refund were in my account this morning. Yippee and stuff. Almost all is going into savings so that there will be plenty of money for flowers (what else? LOL) when it's time to plant.

Those little baby grass sprouts that I mentioned yesterday? They weren't my imagination! There are more this morning. I'm sooo excited! (Obviously, it doesn't take much to please me.)

Okay. Time to get moving, get tidying up done, find magnifying glass so I can better inspect new grass shoots🔎:)
