I spent some time this afternoon painting my green wall in my office room...

I'd taken down some pictures to swap over, and they'd left little marks on the walls where the paint had come off, so I got up on the ladders and painted the wall again..

Stepfather broke his hip Thursday night. After breaking the other one about 7 years ago. But at 95, I don't know how this is going to go. I haven't told my nasty brother as I cannot endure the way he treats me.

Seriously I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle this. I started back to full time work a month ago. Last time this happened I was working part time and I was 7 years younger. I can't find his check book. He swears it's in the drawer. I finally found the money he said he had in the nightstand. No it wasn't in the bottom drawer like he said, it was under the bottom drawer, hidden. If I can't find the check book, I'll have to go to the band friday on my day off. I am on his accounts. This is the sh** that is going to kill me.

Remy, you can do it. One step at a time.

I'm really concerned about you remy... at the moment you're life is kinda controlled by the stepfather... but even after he's gone are you going to be controlled by your brother ?..I'm worried that you are

Each February, seniors have free entry to the Safari Park <sdzsafaripark.org> near Escondido, San Diego County. It's worth $76 per person, but we have to pay $20 for parking. So, today we wanted to take our 5 y/o grandson to the Park, but he didn't feel well; and without him, it's just no fun. But there is always another day.

Well, at 89 I am old but not yet out. All pictures were taken this morning with the exception of the last one that was taken a week ago..

Left: cutting a beautiful Silk Tree killed by termites. Right: Killing the tree stump by drilling 1" diameter and 18 " deep holes, filling
the holes with chemicals for faster decomposition, and wait a few weeks ... or months? I don't hold my breath.

The tree guys wanted $1,200 for cutting this leaning tree. No way. I think I can do it for less. But just in case, I have written my will.

How is my day today? Funny you should ask. I took my dog Maggie (98 pound golden doodle) for a walk behind my cottage at our retirement community. As I often do I let her roam free but with her 15-foot leash on. Well today she decided to veer off path down into a scraggly, bushy, rocky area which went down and then up for about 100 feet to a high-speed road, and her leash got caught on some rocks. She was after some animal bones (probably from a deer). So what to do?

I gingerly and slowly slid down on my butt to reach her, unable to stand up. Got her untangled and was finally able to stand up and slowly make our way up to the road. We then walked to the front entrance of the retirement community and then back to my cottage. My left leg kept threatening to give out on me.

So lesson learned. And if any of you tell my daughters what a stupid thing their 79 1/2 year old father did, I will deny everything. I did have my emergency button and cell phone with me, so I could have notified Security at the front gate to come rescue us, but being a guy well you know how it is (at any age).

Thank you holly. No, my brother will not control me. I plan to go no contact with him. But he will try once the stepfather is gone and I have the responsibility of doing everything, like selling his mobile, clearing it out etc. The ER doctor said he had a106 YO recently in and the family wanted everything done. Stepfather is DNR. But all I could think was 'please not to 106...'

Yesterday my final tax document was available, so today I did my taxes. I'll get a tiny refund for federal, but after paying what I owed for state tax and the cost of e-filing the state return and having copies of both printed/mailed to me, plus the ultimate injustice of being charged state sales tax on the charges, my net result is I'm ahead 60 cents. At least it isn't a negative number.

Now I'm feeling a bit of etterath.

We dined out for Sunday lunch today, there wasn't time to get home from church this morning in order to get changed, so we went to church somewhat overdressed, it drew many a remark, although mostly complimentary.

Our lunch was at a wonderful country inn, that's a bit pricey but still good value. We had entertainment too, a swingtime band name of "Jiving Miss Daisy," and very good they were. Had dancers rocking their socks off. Looking at my lady I could see how much she would have loved to get up and jive. But we still enjoyed watching others, and the meal was exceptional as always.

This evening we have had some surprise company, a couple of friends whom we knew well from a previous address stopped by. They had spent the weekend at the popular town of Bournemouth, it about fifteen miles from us. It was lovely to see them again.

I got up and started earlier today. I did two loads in my mini washer and was done with today's laundry by 2 p.m., 9 hours sooner than yesterday. I put away the rest of yesterday's laundry and some from today. I also reorganized the linen closet. One thing about being almost caught up with laundry is finding space to put everything. Laundry day is tiring, whether I do it downstairs in the laundry room or up here in the apartment.

Processed two sub 200 second videos with Adobe Premiere Elements 2021 then published them this afternoon on my YouTube channel.

Attended an 11am mass where a little girl maybe 2 years old, escaped from her young mother, then ran up onto the chancel, the area where the priest delivers services, and it took some time as she laughed as though it was a game for people to catch her. An altar-girl about 8 years old caught her. Priest and everyone had a good laugh.

On ABC TV, watched the NBA Warriors have their way with the Mavericks.

From my well cold fridge, opened a gallon bottle of somewhat soured whole milk I had bought Friday at Trader Joe's with a Saturday expiration date that should have still been fine. A wasted $5 that will go down the drain.

And another food dud was a package of Raley's (supermarket) White Corn Tortilla chips that hardly had any salt. I've never had issues as in high blood pressure, eating salt, and dislike any kind of chips, popcorn, or nuts that has had little salt applied. Unfortunately, some brands are rather inconsistent with the amount of salt applied and others have been quietly reducing salt content due to pressure from people that can't handle salt. Of course, one cannot easily add salt to such dry foods as salt does not stick.

Here I am up showered and dressed, while it's still dark, got up at 6am... because I have to be at the GP surgery early this morning.

After that I come home for a couple of hours and then I have to drive into the city for a hospital appointment with my consultant about my knees... blimey, we wait months for appointments then 2 come along at once...

Worse is, that it's raining..YUK !!

Have a lovely day my friends whatever you are doing today

I like to point my desk and Curved Monitor toward the incoming door or TV atop the fireplace.
Try to keep the windows to the Right, left and straight ahead. I feel like I have more room.IMG_0692.jpeg

this configuration gives the most space in this small office room... the door is behind me , the window to the right..the monitor is not curved

Thirty-eight years ago, tomorrow, on George Harrison's birthday, I lost my daughter. Every year at this time there is a build up of sadness in my heart as I remember the details. Jon Bon Jovi singing in the background 'Living on a Prayer.' Over and over on MTV. Saved me from going insane, yes, there was a moment that I remember just wanting to throw myself upon her and never let them take her away! Days later, my six year old son, same age as my grandson now crying "my sister, my sister." The candle I will light tonight to keep burning for 36 hours. A battery candle, yet it looks so real.

The deaths of others chip away hearts. I hear my mother in the background saying "It's part of LIFE" as death IS part of life

Stream of consciousness, that's what this post is

It's going to be a nice day today. 60s Yay! I will be outside.
I have pulled something in my lower back. I blame it on the sitting I've been doing in between twice weekly workouts. I know I should do yoga in between or at least stretching. I will today.
Have a god day everyone!

I was going to edit the last sentence but I've decided to keep it.

Good morning, kids. It's going to be a lovely day in the neighborhood. 60s here today, too, @hearlady. Even warmer tomorrow. Yippee.

I still haven't put myself on the business end of the leaf blower. DD is leaving for a doc appt in a little bit so maybe not today because it's hard to start so I need her to crank it up for me.

This afternoon we might go to the garden center for flower seeds and starter stuff. If planted now, they should be just about right to transplant in the ground around the first of April.

@hollydolly Careful driving in the rain! (You needed me to remind you, right?)

On my early walk at 7am it felt 'balmy' outside, temps was 35,sun was beginning to rise.I say this because the start of last week, temps were in the teens, windchill was below 0. I walked around the building the sidewalks were clear of the ice& snow for a change
Today, I've invited another Tudor Plaza friend, Nick to see my apt& have lunch at 12:15 he's never been here I look forward to seeing him
I hope to take afternoon walk before it gets too windy
