Well, off to visit the Spousal Equivalent's relatives who can't make it to the funeral tomorrow. Everyone's in their late 70's or 80's and have good reasons for not coming.

Since we only come up here for funerals these days, he wants to see and talk to them before it's too late.

I'd like to go see a cousin of mine on the way home but I haven't even told him we're in this part of the country because the timing has been up in the air.

It'll all be over tomorrow and I pray that all goes well. It's supposed to be a full military burial with "honors" (uniformed pallbearers, rifle salute, taps) but the funeral director intimated that the military hasn't been coming through reliably lately. I'm hoping for the best..... The funeral kept getting put back because we couldn't get a confirmation from them.

Anyone else keep weird hours? I get up at 3 or 4 AM and go to bed at 4, 5, or even 3. I read for a couple of hours then sleep. Started years ago because Daisy Dog was one of those dogs who thought she should be the only dog in the world. Walking her was a hassle if other dogs were around, so I got in the early, early morning habit. I stick to it now even though she’s gone. 😢 The grocery store I go to is 24 hours and so is Planet Fitness, so, it works.

So, birds fed and patio swept; two loads of laundry done; house picked up; and I made a quiche.

The weather is miserable. Only in the 50s all week!

I have a ton of paperwork to do, but I’ll quilt instead. 😜

Have a good day!

I didn't get much sleep Friday night, due to a toothache....and it's NOT the same tooth that I had worked done on, Thursday.

I always take Tylenol before skating, for my knee. Well it worked on the toothache, too!!! I had a great time skating! I didn't even fall!!! LOL

Unfortunately, once the Tylenol wore off my toothache came back, and so did the pain from my injuries, from last weekend. (sigh). I took more Tylenol before bed last night, but I hurt so bad that I'm not sure if it did any good. And yet, I felt great while skating! Go figure!!

Per usual after skating, I slept in this morning....figuratively speaking. There wasn't much sleep actually happening. Apparently yesterday's skating re-aggravated my injuries from the previous weekend. Even if I was able to find a position that hurt less, there was my sore tooth to remind me that sleep was not really an option. 😕

So, anyway......
*I'm up and still hurting (BAD), but moving around slowly seems to help. As long as I don't take a deep breath or try to lean over, without supporting myself.
*We had light rain during the night, and happily, the heavy storms missed us. It looks like the rain is just about over for now, but there might be more later.
*I'm enjoying my coffee and will be making breakfast soon. I don't know how much I'll be able to do today. If the grass can dry, I might spend the day taking slow walks, and reading...or napping/resting.

I don't feel like doing much right now....take care everyone.

I think I've pulled a muscle or torn something in my bicep yesterday.. because last night if I laid on my right arm I screeched with the pain.. *ugh* :(
Could be your rotator cuff, actually, probably a rotator cuff as it’s very hard to tear a bicep. I have the same problem. Try this simple exercise. If it is the shoulder, you’ll feel immediate relief. Sometimes (most of the time) I’m too lazy to get out of bed so I’ll just lay on my back and put my arms over my head. It relives the pressure.

Thanks but it's not my shoulder.. it's actually in my muscle.... in the bicep..there's no pain at all in my shoulder.....

My arms are quite muscly... due to swimming... like the after picture here......and the pain is all in the muscle

Well, just a thought. When I get the pain in my bicep, I seldom have shoulder pain and this 30 second exercise relieves the bicep pain.

Ugh!
We had a big storm last night with tornado warnings. I spent about an hour in my bathroom taking cover. Luckily, a tornado didn’t hit here but the storm knocked down a tree, which pulled down many power lines and my entire community is without internet.
What a boring day I’ve had without internet!
The crews to fix the lines won’t be out to fix it until Monday so I probably won’t have internet until Tuesday😭
At least you're ok Marian, thank goodness☺️

Sometimes when life appears dark you just need a laugh. Yesterday I played hookey and spontaneously drove three hours to be with friends. It was NOT what my SO imagined I was planning to do with my day…he is up north at the “other” house. My friends are the kind you can just show up and see. Us girls went thrifting, then gathered the guys and hit a rather good mexican restaurant for drinks and food. Lots and lots of laughter, stories and teasing.
Now it is very early…I am sitting in one friends kitchen drinking all their coffee. We shall laugh some more…watch the migrating birds and I will try to kick some a playing either pickle ball or pingpong. I am no good at either. Then I will drive another three hours north and put in my appearance. Wish me luck at games…I will need it.

I sleep fairly normal hours, given that I'm a night bird, but I'm still up in the morning regardless of what time I got to bed.. no sleeping all day for me...

Since Covid, nothing here is open 24 hours any longer...

Look like it's a Hurty moon this week...so many people suffering........hope you feel better soo, Trila 🤗

Woke up early pre-dawn before 5am again this Sunday May 19, 2025 after a solid 6 hours of sleep. Letting in some cool 49F marine fresh air as I type on this upstairs mattress. Saturday was mostly sunny, breezy, with a 68F high while today will be sunnier reaching 75F. Have Progresso Chicken with Rice (with tomatoes, celery, carrots) Soup cooling off beside me, an unusual more solid breakfast.

Just received an email update from Amazon showing 4 of 5 items recently purchased will be arriving much sooner than originally forecast, now next Tuesday. Especially looking forward to the Asus ProArt monitor ($630 incl tax) even though will need to wait another week plus before the HP PC being built it will connect to arrives.

What have you bought recently?

Now post surgery day #16 with yesterday a huge success as the first time I've done more than just slowly walking about some. Large multi band music/food/drink festival walking distance away with large dense crowds that are certain to grow today. Still could feel mildly tender sutures healing with every step walking, however after dancing solidly 2+ hours, then a night of sleep, feel surprisingly less sore today as the movement maybe helped loosen yet stiffer in place still healing tissue structures so they better reflect body movement. Had expected I would only be mostly less energetically upper body dancing. But no... soon became obvious footwork could move about much more dynamically without any increased soreness sensations.

Such modern medical repair uses Vicryl bio-synthetic stitches that take 56 to 70 days to dissolve, absorbing fully integrating into surround tissues. So quite more weeks left in the process. Soup is going down well, a good choice. Will likely just have a light yogurt sugar lunch. Today at 2pm are a couple well experienced local 60s>90s rock/pop cover bands playing 3 hours I am going to really enjoy.

This unexpected better physical state means Wednesday early dawn, a sunny lowest breeze day, will be grabbing my a6700 camera gear then driving the 80 miles south to the spectacular coast south of Monterey.

Ok nothing ever goes according to plan. I got caught up helping my daughter do stuff yesterday and didn't tend to my own back garden. I spent close to three hours out there this morning and made some progress.

Wife is down with flu like symptoms so I'm not sure how the rest of the day will play out. Maybe I'll just watch the PGA Tour Championship on TV.

Gonna do today exactly what I did yesterday. Walk park, read in sun. I could go to the waterfront but then I won't read, and I want to do that. Colson Whitehead's Harlem Shuffle. Love this author. Also wrote Nickel Boys which I didn't read or see, and Underground Railroad, which I really, really devoured!

I'll see the swans another day.

We saw Nickel Boys. It was done in a very experimental, offbeat style. Made me want to read the book, though.

Morning early birds....I'm late for getting up today, last eve about 330 or so the spectrum tv/internet/wireless all went
down, crooks cut the line it seems, spectrum is offering 25K to
find them....sunny and 57deg F out there, possible heavy rains,
tornados later today, into monday, Happy Sunday!!! ;)
Funny you should write about Spectrum's troubles just after I confessed to anger issues. They are the reason for my increased episodes.

Two months ago they talked me into a new "bundle" where they would not only give me cable but also phone and internet. Then they sent a tech who spent 4 hours making the change. Leaving us with three different remotes and systems for our three TV's so that it takes about 20 minutes of work to get anything tuned in and none of our favorite stations at all.

We now have internet that doesn't work very well, and this guy permanently cut off all three of our landline phones, so that ATT won't take us back but the Spectrum phones didn't work at all. We were forced to buy our first cellphone which we can barely work.

I sit in total silence most days now. About once a week a friend calls our new number and I can hear them in the distance (volume is as loud as it will go) but not well enough to understand, so then I call them back with it set on speaker and we shout for a few minutes.

Whoever cut the company lines has my sympathy, 25K would never be enough for me to turn them in.

* No it wasn't me.

That's appalling....

Can you not get you're original Internet provider to install a new system by using a different name ?..I know it may not be strictly kosher but you're not defrauding them.....

This is affecting your health so something has to be done...

I use an automotive mint oil emulsion spray (keeps rodents from chewing wires under the hood) to keep some chipmunks from their attempts to gnaw into the garage. This has always been at ground level, but I've since used spray foam insulating material and a piece of aluminum siding to cover the bit of wood that they go after.

Today I saw them on the roof, and using their gymnastic abilities to get to some wood just under the eaves.

I got up on a step ladder, put the bottle on "stream" instead of "spray," pulled the trigger and a gust of wind blew all of that mint oil onto my head, face, and shoulders. Bleh.

Even after cleaning up I still smell rank. This isn't the most pleasant smell even though you might suspect otherwise.

Not ready to shower, but as times goes on it's sounding better and better.

The internet is not as smooth but it's the best of the three things. I think we were just suddenly forced into the future where our "cable" won't really be TV coming through cable anymore, but TV streamed from the internet which may explain the internet being slower, and AT&T doesn't want us back for landline phone because they are planning to take away all private landlines by 2029.
I'm just complaining. I'll get used to it.

It's always windy in Ohio so when I went around the fence spraying rabbit repellent (fox urine) I came in smelling just like it. Dumb rabbits want to come in our yard to have their babies, just where the Dachshund lives.
