@hollydolly She said she won't drive me to the biscuit place, but she'd drive me to the garden center. She's the one who was talking to the lady who works there. When I mentioned the 5am start time is when she said she wouldn't mind driving me there, just not to the biscuit place. Biscuit place is a kinda dangerous place to work.

Probably not gonna happen, though. I seriously doubt that I'll hear from them, more's the pity because there's an employee discount! LOL

Our local..when I say local... I mean the nearest one which isn't even in this county.... has put it's Parking charges up. They were already high, and really it's a tax on the sick, but now the charges are £3.50 for just one hour... £5.00 for 2 hours, which is usually the absolute minimum anyne would be there... £7.00 for 3 hours which is an average time to be there.. right up to £15 for a day...

The thing is we get charged from the very second we drive into the area.. not from when we park, and as the car park is woefully underspaced for patients, it's very common to have to spend 1/2 an hour driving around and around waiting for someone to pull out and a space to become available.

What sticks in the craw is that all Scottish and Welsh hospital parking is free... while we pay ever more escalating charges !

I could guess a bus is a great choice?
I would have to learn ST. Louis area
Bus Routing and Metro Rail system
schedules though before I would try
that here. The Metro rail put one
in a general area though many miles
from many destinations except Ball
Park and Lombard airport. Still a walk.

there are no buses going from this town to the next county...there is no railways unless I reroute all the way through London and back again making a 30 minute car journey a torturous 3 hour train trip

There are no tubes here in the countryside

I had to figure out what outfit I would wear today to the St. Jude Donor Appreciation luncheon. I changed course from something spring-y to a pant suit I would normally wear in the fall because our temps had dropped to the mid - high 50s. Also I know that restaurant is usually freezing and it was. I also did my nails.

The luncheon took place at a restaurant-banquet hall fairly close to home. My guest was a friend I met when I used to attend the senior center in 2019-2020. We hadn't seen each other since COVID but talked on the phone and communicated on Facebook. I'm glad she could go with me because I love her energy. The food was good and we learned a lot more about how much they actually do for the families, as well as what's ahead for the hospital and organization via the presentations. It was good to meet the lady I'd been in communication with re my donations in person; she is very nice. We had very friendly people at our table as well. It was a nice afternoon.

This evening I went to Amazon Fresh with my HS#3. I always love to shop, but wound up only getting a couple of grocery items. I also tried the fried chicken and corn chowder from their hot and salad bars. He goes often because those items are half price after 6:30. I ate so much at the luncheon that I'm saving the chicken for tomorrow. I did taste the corn chowder though, which was okay. I probably wouldn't buy it again. Mine tastes better.

Several Amazon orders arrived at noon today...
with my small Windows 11 laptop now atop the pillow lap desk. Indeed... Perfect snug size and keyboard level for small me...
The pillow lap desk does have an issue I've now resolved. As noted it does fit my small body like a glove, however too much so in just that one confined position with both legs narrowly within the lap desk space that after an hour or so am aching to move my legs into different positions.

If I put just one leg into the lap desk with the other free to move about, the issue is the A-shaped lapdesk is too far away. So what I did was turned it around 180 degrees so it is a U-shape with one leg through the lapdesk slot and the other free to move wherever. This way the area of the lapdesk where one places a laptop is nicely closer. I will still use the lapdesk in the standard orientation but now when my legs get tired of being confined to just the one, can change that up for awhile on either side for either leg.

Afternoon folks...

D'ya know what's irritating?.. I was just on the loo.. and the Postman rang the doorbell .. Took me about a minute to get off the pot, and he'd already left a note in the door saying I had to jump through hoops to get the parcel he was delivering. I opened the door, but he was already driving off.. :cautious:

Overcast today thus far, despite the forecast being for sun. The county show is on this weekend.. but the forecast is for rain tomorrow... so I might go on Sunday but it's £28 for entrance so we'll see

I'm so sorry that happened Don! That's something I fear will happen one day after I've filled the fridge up. Seems like you can't catch a break this week. 🤗

the fridge and it's contents will be fine for at least 2 days if you don't open the door more than a couple of times. The food will be ok to eat ...

Another dreary start to the day as I went to the convient store to buy local paper for myself& friend, Connie. It was lightly raining, temp 54 at 7am as I walked back around the building
Today, I've invited my friends, Mary and Patrick lunch today at 12:15.They live at the same co op apt building{Tudor PLaza} complex I did. Mary&I usually go on weekly' road trips' together,he was my real estate agent, known them both for yrs. Its still an adjustment for me not to see them or other TP friends on a daily basis,.I'm now a 15 min walk away It will be great to see them
Tonight I'll be in the dining room at 5:30 with Connie, my neighbor, Bill and another friend, Pat.The 3 other regulars, Fr Bob{ retired priest},Gene&partner, Jim have other plans
I hope to get another walk in some time today when its not raining

been 36 hrs since it stoipped cooling....everything in freezer
section is completely thawed.....

Getting ready today for doctor appointment tomorrow. Get list of all meds I use, all meds, etc. I need. Rainy & dreary again today. Gloomy. Must go out though for small purchase. My laundry is piling up like mad, probably will do some loads on Sunday. Getting real low on certain items of clothing.

Up all night, as usual. Took the dogs out last night about 3am. I always go with them in the middle of the night to make sure there is no barking. It was nice and cool. My loopers were right there on the patio table.

I thought just grab those and cut back some overgrowth. Instead, I tripped myself on a tree root and made a face plant. When I went down my knee landed right on another tree root. Let me tell you, I had a heck of time getting up.

I did not see blood, so I just thought that is going to be a big bruise. I got in the house went to grab a towel to wipe off the dirt. Thats when the blood came. The dirt had ground into the wound and kept it from bleeding.

I went and took a shower because roll around in the grass had me itching all over. Sat for the next five hours trying to get the blood to stop. It was like a slow leak in a tire. Every time I had to get and down it started again.

Nothing to do but got to the doctor. There was one little part of it that was quit deep. She had to rinse it out, it hurt like worse than you know what. I admit, I screamed like a girl, right I am a girl, so it is okay! She pressed around the wound to make sure she got all the grime out.

She wanted to try gluing it. If it does not hold, I will have to go back and get stitches. Sent in a script for antibiotic, something for inflammation and orders for a tetanus.

Here you are at the doctor and you would think that they could give you the tetanus. Guess what, she tells me Medicare will not pay for it in office. They will cover it at the pharmacy. Is anyone else aware of this?

I am home waiting for an email the meds are ready.

So, take it from me don't get silly ideas at 3am in the dark. I like to think I took the fall for @hawkdon but someone else needs to take the next one for him!

Many times the starting motor capacitor has failed. Good luck hawkdon.

The Metro Linc train is basically a straight shot from Scott AFB in Illinois to Lambert Field in St. Louis area, including the arch, Cardinal
BB Stadium, Clayton and Shrewsberry Mo. Free parking at some stops. Its plus is the Cardinals and Airports. Expressways and bridges
are a mess right now with construction and potholes. The Metro City area approx 100 mile circle can be a nighmare of accidents, road
closures and usually something bad has just happened somewhere all the time. ... :coffee: ... (n) A Cardinal Game can be a $20 + Downtown
parking fee plus quite a walk. Stand in Line too. We have Red Orange Eddie Bauer rain suits too. Easy to choose the Linc. ... :ROFLMAO:
Monday nights rain was quite the thing!
