How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

It's still overcast here, but the weatherheads say the sun will be out by early afternoon with a temp around 80. Sounds good to me.

Maybe the forget-me-not seeds will get planted this morning. Maybe the guara will be potassium'd. And maybe The Hovel will get vacuumed. Maybe. I'll have to think about it.

One can't just rush into Optimizing.

ETA: The Optimizing has begun! The seeds have been planted at last :)

Morning all, my early walk at 6:45, temp was 70, a bit hazy as I walked around the building before breakfast

I've called in for my dinner reservation in the dining room tonight at 5:30,never know who I'll be seated with.
I remember when I first moved in, Connie suggested I try eating in the dining room a couple times during the week, a great way to meet other residents,it did help

Welp, here i am again, just cannot get rid of me!! LOL...it is nice

into the heat...up at 430am due to itchy dry skin, so got up

waiting on info about getting a ramp for the Bluestreak to

I've got to be over at the ortho doc at 8:40 this morning to get my first of three knee lubricant injections in my left knee joint....one a week for three weeks.

I had the same procedure a little over 3 years ago and it's not a whole lot of fun but there is a bright side....I get out of mowing mama's yard in this heat for a few weeks and I've already got a couple fellas lined up to do it.

I had those injection first, this time last year.... in both knees.. and again at the beginning of this year in my right knee.... took about 2 weeks for the pain to leave my knees.. but oh the relief for about 4 months...

did you get the 100 mph winds they were reporting for your area?

Sunny here this morning... high of 70 ... wish I could go out... , slept very badly, mainly due to the horrendous pain of the tendonitis in the injured arm... I don't know what to do about it. I take muscle relaxants before I got to bed and it's not preventing it...

Have a good Wednesday peeps... 🧡
Hard to tell what the wind speed was, but it sounded a lot higher than previous storms. Of course, the trees are in leaf, so that may have made things sound worse. There was little sign of damage here, but I think it was much worse on the west. We don't get many power cuts, but we still keep a supply of candles and can cook in our campervan if needed.

The one bit of damage we had was two panes blown out from the greenhouse. They're polycarb, so didn't break. After the last storm, I added more fastenings to the cover on the polytunnel, and it survived intact.

Beautiful day today - sunshine and 20C, Light wind.

Well foolish old me went at it too long...I was just doing
minor little things, trash out to bin, remove a couple sticky
insect trap thingies, just those little unimportant chores
we do each morning, and that has started the bursitis and
low back screaming again. dammmm it all....took a couple
advil to see if that helps, heat pad to follow....get so tired
of this inability to do just the minor stuff...okay enuff..... :devilish:

I have recently joined that club. My sincerest sympathy.

I am headed out the door to do yard work that I know will hurt me worse. I already hurt from falling a couple days ago, but since nothing broke and I didn't do anything yesterday but rest and nap, I will give the grim reaper another shot at taking me out. It is a cool morning, so maybe the wasp won't be so angry. Last week I got strung 7 times before I realized what was happening. I located 3 hives and they all died a horrible death from chemical warfare. Check back in a few hours for an update on my self inflicted pains.

Good morning and happy Wednesday, Aug 6th, fellow SF-ers!

I had a repeat endoscopy early yesterday morning along with a surgery to remove a little something from my throat that didn't belong there. The anesthesia conked me out for most of the day. (Say what you will about big pharma, but they do have do have the very best drugs...)

Today I feel like I got punched in the throat and that someone twisted my intestines. The latter is from the gas they use to blow up whatever they're working on. Hoping to feel better on both accounts later today and tomorrow.

All is good otherwise. Tried having our usual morning swim, but my lower GI tract put the kibosh on that within 5 minutes of getting in the pool.

We planned for an easy day today because of concerns about my recuperation.

Now that's a good attitude! I may adopt that one.
Thanks! I came up with that one to replace a longer version about meeting the devil at the crossroads and calling him a sorry SOB. The yard is done and in only 3 1/2 hours. Not my best work, but the spirit of Pablo Picasso spoke to me and approved.

The best description I can give about my life of constant pain, is most days I feel like I am hanging off a cliff on a badly frayed rope. Why is it that the rope is never frayed if standing on the gallows? I will spare y'all all the details on the therapies scheduled between now and bed time.

HI Ike, I've had my partial right knee since 2004,in 2021 I had my 1st cortisone shot in the knee, it helped. Two yrs later I had another one, last month got another one. I have moderate arthritis in the knee, but it hasn't stopped me from taking my daily walks Sue

Above SFgate dot com photo of Polo Grounds concert Sunday that I listened the distant muffled sounds for free from outside the perimeter. Tickets were $280 per day or way above this fan's threshold. Saturday's McLaren Park outdoor Jerry Garcia Amphitheater event was FREE.

Two days of weekend free to attend Dead music in San Francisco went well and have since been post processing images from last week's 6 day backpacking trip. That completed yesterday, I still need to hand html code that trip into my website that I'm not yet in the mood to start. Tomorrow Thursday, will be back to music with a late afternoon rock/pop cover band set to play outdoors nearby. Then Sunday, the Wilson sisters band, Heart is playing in the evening at Chase Arena (GS Warriors venue) in San Francisco.

Apparently ticket sales have been slow, probably due to also this weekend, the huge Outdoor Lands Festival ($340 per day tickets), also at the Golden Gate Park, Polo Grounds, attended mostly by newer generations. Thus for the Heart concert, the usually most expensive, $99 in front of the stage, standing room, ground floor, tickets prices on Ticletmaster suddenly today have dropped to $47.50. Hope some scammers that plagued resale sites paying the higher initial prices get skewered. So may buy one online tomorrow? Have seen the band several times over decades...Barracuda! Otherwise, there is some free outdoor Dead jam bands scheduled Saturday afternoon at the area outside Chase Arena, I could otherwise enjoy.

I was just going to check to see if @Deya survived the day. Looks like it :)

Tonight's supper is shepherd's pie. It's in the oven as we speak.

The sun came out. Yay. It feels like October at 83F. Ahhhh. Yesterday and Monday were definitely November or early December🍁.
Thanks so much for concern. I haven't showered yet but will in a few minutes. I was trying to relax when the husband told me his heart med prescription was filled and ready to pickup. He is out, so off I go walking in sandals, to the pharmacy. That is a mile walk. I couldn't drive because my vision was really blurry after all the morning work.

I made the walk quicker and felt better than expected. I was feeling real pleased with myself until my husband asked me if I had been to Woodstock. I thought he had gone crazy until he suggested I look in the mirror. I had forgot I had removed my sweaty bra. The thin top didn't hide much. I am beginning to worry about my mind when I am tired.

I also had to call the self check out lady over because I didn't get a receipt for the ice cream I bought. She pointed out I hadn't paid yet. Double embarrassment. Good thing I ask for a receipt or I might have been arrested for theft and photographed braless. I don't think going braless is a crime, but it should be, at my age, and with the thin top I was wearing.

Off to shower. It will wash off sweat and may help with aches and pains, but it won't wash off the shame of my public hippie appearance.

Finally grabbed the broom & swept the floor in this room.
Hubby has been tracking in saw dust & bits of wood chips.

Later we drove over to Amish market for fresh corn, peaches & a yellow squash.
They were sold out of oatmeal honey bread.

I did ask about the type of oatmeal they used in the bread.
Old fashioned or quick oatmeal.
Not sure what her answer was.

Has any of ladies made that kind of bread?

I'm afraid, at this stage in my life, they would have to pay ME to get in that crowd. I'm glad you enjoy it @David777 ! I'm sure it's A lot of fun.

The aches and pains are setting in and moist heat pad is handy and a fresh tube of Voltran is within arms reach. Tylenol already down the hatch. I will say goodnight to all and sign out of here, but watch my husbands favorite show about a mama gorilla with her slow learner baby that finally learned to ride on its mamas back.

The mountain gorilla show ended and my hubs paused the final frame with the mama gorilla showing her sagging breast. I still have the narrowed eye icy stare. He confirmed that by quickly taking it off pause. I mean, how insensitive of him when I could have been arrested for attempted theft and solicitation by lude presentation.

Y'all have a great evening!
