Great friendships sometimes start out caustic. I been there too!
US good people figure it out. …. :coffee: ….. I was cutting Mo. scrub
brush out of the Cliff / steep hill overlooking the Lake today. Its just a lil job
and the temps were Mid 80’s F. Most afternoon. Not too bad and
It makes me feel better in a couple of days / that hard work / a different
life than the St. Louis area. My UTV has a winch to drag them up and then
Shred them in the Shredder and put them to mulch tomorrow & saturday.

For all of you for personally DM'd me. Many thanks for the heads up. This is supposed to be a general public forum. Not just for one queen. You're absolutely right! I'm starting to get it now. Thanks again!

Think a great many here have Ignored some as they seem caustic to us and later its better
in many instances. See how poorly the middle east gets along with each other at times. Lol

Caustic. A great word! Definition,

sarcastic in a scathing and bitter way:
"The players were making caustic comments about the refereeing"

I tend to lean on the bitter way by folks for whom doesn't even know me. May they rot in H&&L.

I tend to quit following threads that seem to be going nowhere.
Not troll, I guess is the term. Just Not going to talk about an AC
system auto repair here. …. :coffee: …. Turbos is about ready for a
new set of front tires. A place in town puts in new valve stems for
free.

Well today I went to the project house. There is one guy who shows up and actually does the job. But man that job is pricey. My little sewer repair is right at 16000$ now….I must say I had a bit of trouble drawing breath when he told me. Had to be done once you know how bad it is…but still. It was 120 degrees when I was driving home. I saw one car driving with their windows down. That could not have been pleasant. Off to bed for me…good night you all.

Arizona area can really be hot, tired dry and more hot then.
Been there, sat with Ice Tea and Swamp pump cooling.

Things started happening after 9 pm. cars fronts bouncing
off the streets down town Phoenix.
The H.S. Football team across the street practicing on a
muddy field after the Irrigation.

Permit me to chip in my tuppence about women's fights.

When my wife and two daughters were about to kill each other and I tried to reestablish peace, then all three jumped at me and accused me for causing the fight. They put through a meat grinder. That's when I learnt to keep my mouth shut and just to scratch my head in bewilderment.

About my younger daughter: around age 5, she wanted to marry me. Around age 7, she wanted to become a doctor to take care of daddy when I grow old. At age 15 1/2, I was the devil personified. But once she reached 30, she admitted that dad is really not so stupid, and she started giving me again hugs. And so the story goes.

Already with my first wife, being ten years younger while my second wife is almost twenty years younger than I am, I learnt that a man can never win an argument with a woman. Both wives are holding master degrees from universities and have professional jobs, but a woman will always be a woman. They can have a physical fight, but soon they will again hug each other.

While I was married with my first wife for only one year, we actually had lived together for five years. After our divorce, we spent two months vacationing in Europe; and we spent the next Christmas with her parents who had no clue that we were divorced. I still remember her last words when we finally split: she was jealous of my would-be second wife because she has straightened me out, and my second wife would have it so much easier with me. Right. While it I took me six years to get re-married, my second marriage has lasted already fifty years.

I have learnt my lesson. When my wife screams and yells at me, then I just give her a hug and say that I love her, and that reestablishes peace.

My younger daughter's family returned today from a mini vacation in Las Vegas. At this moment, my two daughters are driving my wife to LAX where she will join a group for a pilgrimage to Eastern Canada. This is the first time that she travels by herself because I am getting too old.

When she returns, my older daughter will fly to Australia to see friends. Flight is free with frequent flyer mileage, and staying with friends is also free. Then in November, my wife has already booked a flight to Rome, joining a group of pilgrims that includes participating in the general papal audience. All four of us had done so in 1990 to see Pope John Paul; in 2010 my wife and I joined the general audience of Pope Benedict; and in 2016 we did so to see Pope Francis. This time I quit. At almost 90, I can't take anymore the long inter-continental flights. I had enough.

@Paulina I sent you a private message for which you sincerely thanked me. And now I say in public, "Stop it!" (i.e., Not just for one queen)
@hollydolly Please do me the favor and ignore what Paulina just said.

I had enough family quarrels to know that there has to be an end to it.

I sort of learned that talking with the ladies is a good choice.
Different cultures chase to the bone. We have been back in
the 80’s for over a week now but will end this weekend with
Blazing sun again. UGh.

Talked with my friend again this evening, think a metal pole shed
at the lake to park stuff under is in the moving stage. Kids Camper
vehicles, even Golf Carts Utv’s in out of the sun at different times
of the year is a great have to have.

Mornin' folks... sunny morning here.. . Later this morning I have to go a 65 mile round trip to the Salvage place where my car is, and see if there's anything worth retrieving from my poorly car... before it goes to car heaven

It sounds crazy about an inaminate object but after having it for so long I feel I need to physically say goodbye to it.. and thank it for saving my life... 😔

just inagine you're here in the UK Hawkie... it's 10.18 am here...:D

Temperatures in the Los Angeles area ranged today from Oxnard 69 on the left side, to 118 in the lower desert (Palm Springs)
at 118 on the right side. We are living in the Inland Empire at 100 degrees, but at our house I measured 109 degrees today. The
mountain resorts are cooler, like Wrightwood 82 degrees at 6,000 feet, and Big Bear 79 at 7,000 feet altitude. Along the
ocean, Long Beach at 91 degrees and Catalina Island (Avalon) at 93 is absurd; something seems to be "kaput."

70.3 inside was under the aircondition outlet; I keep the house at 78 degrees........Not dogsitting but dogsleeping my grandson's puppy.

Right: while my other daughter attended a concert with the fabulous Popstar Shakira at the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium

People always say " it's a dry heat in the west". No matter, it's a hot damn dry heat!

@Imogene Eeek! I have a thing about snakes. A couple of years ago I was tidying up in the garden and bent over to pick up what I thought was a dead branch. It was a copperhead. I'm tellin' ya, I had no idea I could move so fast. Zero to 60 in a nanosecond!

Another time when we lived out West in married student housing where my DH was a student, I opened the front door one morning to fetch the milk out of the milk box and there was a rattler coiled up top of it. Had to call the university police to come because there was a law against firearms on campus so it wasn't like I could shoot it.

A neighbor had the same thing happen to her so she got a shovel and hacked the rattler to death. Broke the milk box and the bottles, but she didn't shoot anything.

No snakes, thank you. And no tarantulas, either, if you don't mind.

Well. Yesterday I forgot that I was going to eat gelato in the evening so went to bed without gelato :(. I'm not gonna forget tonight. It's almost gelato time. Let's hear it for gelato. Yay!
DH killed a copperhead a few weeks ago during a dry spell. It was near the water spicket, a place I always watch for them.
I'm not deathly afraid of snakes but I'm definitely cautious. I don't want to get bit!

Well @hawkdon, you and I aren't the only early birds. @hearlady is up, too.

After a turn around the garden, I'm gonna make myself presentable to accompany DD to Aldi.

Aside from that, I have no idea what else is on today's agenda.

ETA: Wait! I do have an idea what else is on today's agenda. We're going to visit Aldi's Aisle of Shame. That's always fun. While we're there, I'm going to replenish my supply of gelato because I polished off my carton last night.
