How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I'm real tired today. Did my hour walk yesterday and for the first time since surgery, had no pain. Pain came back later, of course, problem not going to be solved just by walking. So, not sure what I'm doing today, if anything. Tomorrow have two TeleHealth appointments, one late morning, one later afternoon, so I'm kinda stuck home tomorrow.
Today? Maybe I'll stay here. It's been awhile and I'd like to catch up with you guys.

Yesterday I took my laptop over to Ed's and (via hotspot), pulled up YouTube and we had a hymn fest. He can't go to church anymore, so I brought church to him. He favors old-timey gospel and I like more high-brow stuff so it was a very eclectic mix but we both enjoyed it.

Today it is pleasant outside with a stiff breeze so I turned off the AC and Flung Open the Winders!!! I know I'll have to close up again by late afternoon but it will at least air the house out.

Put out autumn decor... best time of the year!

Have wet towels, etc in the dryer.

Walked Mac.
Messed with the tomato plants that have green tomatoes on them.
Trying to get more sunshine on them, fear they would not get ripe.

I think we are going to small hometown restaurant for dinner.

Need to mail birthday card to granddaughter .

And hope to stop at grocery store,,I'm low on some items.

Enjoy the day!

Whoever is having rain, send it to PA,,,looks like a long dry spell ahead.

@CinnamonSugar You're way south of me so I know it's warmer down there...fall decor? Not here! I'll be glad when the daytime temps are in the 70s and nighttime in the 50s. Then we'll put out the Drop* stuff.

*Drop is when the leaves drop off the trees. Some people call it Fall. Some people call it Autumn. I call it Drop.
I get it, @Georgiagranny … but true-feeling-fall arrives late here and Christmas is right on its heels, so I gotta celebrate this wonderful season as long as possible 🍁🍂😊

Monday 11:33am now this morning. Jam band music yesterday, Sunday, lasted from 1pm to 11pm. Large lively happy crowd with many freestyle dancers, packed into a small venue. So I didn't get to sleep until maybe 1am, woke up at 6am, took a shower, went back to sleep till 11am. So now awake though a bit groggy from weird hours. Temperature indoors already 74F with outdoors now 87F and forecast to be not as hot, only 90F.

Little to no music scheduled anywhere this short work week till next weekend, so expect to have a quiet, productive week. Considering driving to a coastal area for a day of shore surf or rocky coast ocean fishing. There are several lightning caused fires up in far northern California and two larger fires mid state that have left smoky skies across the Sierra Nevada, so won't entertain any visits there for weeks unless Mexican monsoon weather can move north, dampen, and clean the atmosphere. I totally avoid landscape photography during smoky periods that are common by most late summers. Much worse now in the Pacific Northwest.

Still took it easy today. My son got home from his trip around 9:30 and I asked him to take me to get Chinese food (I've been wanting some for a couple of weeks). We left at noon. The restaurant is halal, which means we don't have to worry about any pork flying around in their kitchen, which makes it so much easier to order. After eating, I cleaned up the kitchen early then finished watching a movie. Tonight I did accounting for my son and myself.

GOOd morning folks!! Ooops fingers not workin right today....sorry bout that...it is cool at 63F now, may get a touch of rain but doubt it....slept pretty well with all the pain...patches

my two wall clocks....never had that happen don't think, I always
put new batt's in at time changes!! LOL big deal huh!!! gOT TO

Good morning to all, another cooler day and so nice after so many really hot days this summer.

@hollydolly, I hope you are still healing well. I am guessing you are driving your new car? Take good care of yourself. 🤗

I hope you are all well. Enjoy your day today.:)
Thanks for thinking of me Rae...🥰 funnily enough just seconds before I read your post I got a text from the hospital reminding me of an appointment for tomorrow .

Yes I'm recovering.. my hand is still very swollen, and scarred but no longer bandaged .. and literally as I look at my hand I see the new skin growing over the big gashes and scars.. it's incredible to see..

All the medical staff are amazed at how fast I'm recovering, someone said I have ''excellent skin''.. whatever that means.. but either way I'm glad of it. Still painful... because the nerves have been damaged .. but hopefully that will eventually help itself as well.

yes driving the new car now.. been one month yesterday since I took delivery of it...and 7 weeks since the accident... I've driven it probably 4 times.. I'm still getting used to it, but because of the accident I'm very nervous if another car gets too close, patricularly on a roundabout .. and I'm usually a very confident driver.. but hopefully my confidence will return again..,

@hollydolly, you sound like things are going better for your healing. Thank goodness for that news. And also for driving your car. Just take it easy driving and I am sure it will get better in time. I know it is scary. I do not like driving and there are so many idiots out there, that it shakes me up, too.

Have a great day and stay positive.🤗

Ended up making yesterday a movie day: Conclave on Prime. Should have gone with a comedy, but when I saw Conclave available, free---well, I've been waiting for this movie. So, my yesterday was quiet, didn't go out although it was a lovely day.

Today, also stuck in on a lovely day---TeleHealth with therapist at 11am; TeleHealth with psychiatrist (monthly meeting for meds) at 3:30pm.

I was looking forward this morning to Howard Stern's return to Sirius, but drat! the bum was a repeat, so I guess he is starting next Monday. After all the hype, my son said. Let down, HS is teasing his audience.

Trying to keep spirits up, a full time job.

Morning all, my early walk was at 6:50, temp 56 sun was up went around the building before breakfast
I took my long of the day about 45 min ago,I strolled over to Marcia&Dave's house which took me 25 min. When I was living at Tudor PLaza{co op apt building} it only took me 10-15 min. I brought over 2 copies that Marcia needed,I knocked on the door,Dave welcomed me into living room,Tage got so excited wagging his tail, waited on sofa for some TLC. I sat down next to him,he put his head on my shoulder as I rubbed his stomach&nose, telling him 'you are a good boy' he wagged his tail I put my right hand on sofa, he put both of his paws around my wrist, then put his head on my hand- sigh!
I had a nice conversation with Dave who is now retired, we talked for about 15 min, he dropped me off at the local co op,then I walked back to Gates
I've made my dinner reservation in dining room tonight for 5:30 ,have no idea who I will be sitting with
The rest of my day read today's NYT,may take afternoon stroll before dinner

Last night I received email from therapist cancelling my 11am TeleHealth appointment. Just saw it now. At best, I look at emails infrequently so when I went to check on appt. noticed a cancellation.

Good thing you spotted it, even at the last minute, otherwise you’d have been sitting there waiting.

Can you set up text messages on your phone. Those I usually see.

yep you've got to be on the ball when you have upcoming appts' as I have found this last 2 months... I check my mails and texts morning, afternoon.. and just before bed.. and have found appts there I could have missed if I hadn't been checking..

You would think something as simple as a little weed wacking would be a simple task.
Oh No......... All I wanted to do was a simple little stretch of grass in the breezeway. So, out comes the Poulin weed eater. prime, prime, and go to tugging. Won't start. Apparently it won't prime for some reason. No biggie, I just dig out the backup Husqvarna. Arrrgh no string. Trying to figure out how to re-string it. First try... fire it up and it shoots string all over the place. Okay, wind it the other way. Now, it won't feed. (supposedly an auto feed. Now my 5 minute job has lasted 20 minutes and I've cut about 3 inches of grass.

Last resort... dig out the wife's electric trimmer. Finally, grass is cut. :)
Now I want to know how to string the Husky. On to you tube and holy crap, it's so simple. You don't have to remove the head at all like my other weed eaters. Just line up the cutter holes and push about 20 feet of string through. (until you have about 10 feet sticking out both sides). Then, just twist the head and it winds the string back into the head and you're ready to go. o_O
