Church this AM then picked up a submarine sandwich, chips and a soft drink at a local deli. Enjoying the breeze in the yard now.

Starting to plan for a visit to my daughter’s mid-October to hopefully catch some of the autumn colors in the N GA mountains and catch up with her and the grand girls.

I saw a picture somewhere on social of Snape's replacement. It was pretty good pick, I thought.

@MarkD, wow a earthquake is so scary. I was in one once in California and it was scary but not a big one. However, I could feel the movement. I am glad you are safe.

Three disturbances in the Atlantic Ocean now. One is Hurricane Gabrielle and the other two are waves, one off Africa and the other just came up on its own. It looks like they might go North but too soon to tell.

I will be going to get a blood test this morning and then will just see how the rest of the day goes as no particular plans.

Much better! Ended up getting 8 hours sleep somehow. It was hard to get to sleep because of bladder issues but even that seems cleared up. Maybe the earthquake settled something. ;)

We've always found earthquakes exciting and fun as forces of nature. My wife always feels them and there was no missing this one. The largest one I've been through was the 6.9 one centered in Loma Prieta near Santa Cruz. That was most destructive one around here in my lifetime. But I have to say I've always thought the prospect of being in a hurricane to be far scarier.

I've never heard of that hack. Does it also work with other insect bites?

What a drag to have picked up bedbugs. I hope this is a very short infestation.
 
Today's hunt was a bust, after a tiny rain yesterday afternoon, clearing skies, and a prediction of 39°F I thought it was going to be active. Turns out it was warmer, only 45°F so the elk were just in a blah mood. This was one of only 3 hunts out of 16 I didn't see an elk. There was 1 or 2 bugling from the bedding area but they quit around 8am. I even broke out my cow in estrus impersonation and got one of them to move closer, but he eventually shut up and stopped moving towards me. I did hear several bugling on the walk out so maybe an increase in rutting behavior is imminent.

To date I've seen +- 120 elk, 9 deer, and no lions. I have an elk, deer, and lion tag. The Wx looks stable through the remainder of the season so no real wx triggers in the forecast, unfortunately.

Off tomorrow, back in the tree Wednesday.
 
@Pinky ...I found that blank parking ticket in my pocket today.... the one I said where there was no contact details on it to get a refund, if you remember....

The pharmaceutical industry hates finding public information relating heating itching skin can be relieved so. On medical websites, they make sure such is not suggested. Using heat on itchy skin has been known for decades. Briefly heating itchy skin with just bearable hot temperatures releases histamine that for a few hours locally depletes that chemical on affected itching areas. Either hot water or hot air will work. Just don't cook yourself, haha as it doesn't take but a few seconds to deplete the histamines that for a few moments will feel extra itchy as the histamines release and then become locked away on ligand sites. Works for every surface skin itching condition I've experienced including poison oak, mosquito bites, bedbug bites, shingles.

Histamine's in the context of an allergic or inflammatory response, when released from immune cells, such as mast cells, histamine signals other cells to increase the blood vessel's permeability. This process leads to inflammation and allows immune cells and fluids to reach the affected area.

Can confirm; I've had multiple ivy, oak, and laurel poisonings. The hottest water you can stand feels incredibly good and does take the itch away.

yes but there is none as you can see... and tbh trying to get hold of anyone or get any reply from the council parking offices to get info about who controls that particular car park is just not worth the effort..

Before sunrise I put away the rest of the Costco haul, made my prayers and did accounting for my son and me.

By 8:50 I had gone to the post office and joined HS#3 for the train ride to Hoboken, N.J.. He took the Path from Hoboken to New York to attend classes. I walked to a Mickey D’s to get an egg and cheese biscuit and got OJ this time, instead of coffee. I had a conversation with Jennifer, a nanny to a cute little platinum blonde toddler (15 months). She sat at the table next to mine and I noticed how good she was with him. She said he’s such a good baby. He made me think of my friend Bill, a cutie who also had platinum blonde hair. When we were 18, we worked at Korvettes and used to have lunch together. He promised to never forget me. I never forgot him.

After breakfast I walked a couple of blocks to the waterfront park. I was too tired to walk the promenade like I usually do. Today showed me how out of shape I’ve become! Time to get back to the gym!

We took the old MG out for a drive this morning. It's a cold but sunny morning, perfect for the old car. The lady wanted some more fabric so our run out was to Hansons, a fabric store just under an hour's drive from here.

Our daily household chores are next, then she's off to the beauticians to "get her nails done." It's the first stage in getting all glamourised ready for this evening, when we shall be joining twenty or so friends to help one of them celebrate his eightieth year on this planet.

I'm just waiting for my DD to ring.. then I'm going out....

As I suspected, after yesterdays' fervent cleaning.. the excrutiating pain in my arm kept me awake half the night.. I can't wait for the physiotherapy appt on friday...

My New Hardback book arrived this morning... I hadn't even given it a thought, that due to it being 700 pages, it's very heavy... so I'm going to have to prop that up on something to be able to read it.

@horseless carriage ..last year when I was in Dorset, I drove through Lyndhurst, it is very beautiful, but very tiny... and being July the roads were very busy with traffic, so I didn't stop, but I wish I had been able to.....

Good morning everyone, I am waiting for my delivery from Publix. The shopper is so fast and hopefully the items I ordered are okay as some are berries and want them in good condition. They had some items buy one get one free and that works well for me. I try to take advantage of them if they are items I usually buy.

The two waves in the Atlantic Ocean are still not sure where they will go. One looks close to the United States but the hurricane center is not sure where they will go at this time.

rain off n on....this is a sore joint day also it seems, shoulders,

i will get into for sure, maybe call a couple doc's for app'ts...

We should get your rain here about 10-11 this morning. It's been good how it spotty rained to loosen the soil up before a stronger one
comes that would have just run off before it got soaked in. I admired that call from Mother nature...good plan! You know we will waiting
to hear if you get your Dr. appts, don't make us turn this car around now! ;)
 
Today was supposed to bring heavy rain.....but the forecast must have changed. It's beautiful outside!!!! I was planning on staying home, and hiding from the rain, but right now it looks like I might actually be able to go to the gym!

We'll watch the forecast and decide after breakfast. If I do stay home, I'll probably work on my digital photo project. It's been neglected lately.....time to get back to it.
 
A day of busy-work ahead for me. In addition to a 3:00 work deadline, I need to call and make an appointment for a wellness exam/physical with a new PCP (mine retired), and I need to swing by a fitness center I may join so I can keep up a level of physical activity in the winter months.

It's another pleasant sunny day here, which is a relief after 2 weeks of nearly continuous rain/overcast skies.

I'm really excited to see my younger daughter tonight! 🥰

Nothing pressing on the books for today just run a couple of errands.

Waiting on a call from my dermatologist about the results of a biopsy done late last week on my left temple....him and I both know it's another good size basal cell and will need to come off but he's got to wait on the official lab results before he can proceed.
