Talked to my daughter in France. She has now been to the ER 4x because of her severe cat allergy.
Results are back. Daughter's cat allergy is extremely severe. Her allergy is at the top of the chart, top 5% of severity. Only people with autoimmune diseases who are allergic to cats have a more severe allergy. She found an apartment at the university. They were very helpful to her, finding her a place that had no cat hair or dander, because the entire building has never had an animal in it. And it is an old building. So odd -- when a tenant turns 31, they have to move out immediately. So she has a year -- she will be 30 in mid-October.
She also told me that she doesn't like French food, and she's been to some pretty nice restaurants. She says it is too bland. She likes the breads and pastries and candy. I said, well I'd just live on that, then. Her Loveliness started to give me a speech about nutrition, but realized after 3 words were out that I was pulling her leg.
Other than that, I am organizing myself, starting with the office area. Lots of papers. This is such a horrible task. I am looking for about an inch thick sheaf of lab orders for Monday's lab tests. I had them in my possession. They are not in the car. They also do not appear to be in the house, which makes no sense. I did not throw them away. This is how I got into paperwork h*ll in the first place. Maybe I have a poltergeist! Maybe I am a poltergeist!
This is the story of my life. I decide to be a Compliant Patient, and right away everything I need to do that disappears! This is about 6 months worth of bloodwork I'm supposed to have done.
Also, today I take my son on his second driving lesson on an actual road. I cannot stand being in the car with someone who is learning to drive. Two days ago we did this, and I stayed calm and patient because I am good at faking it. (This because I didn't want my little boys to throw bugs at me, so I pretended to love bugs. It worked.) I even patiently said, Stop. Why, son asked. Because you are going to hit that huge Uhaul if you don't. I can just turn the wheel more. You will still hit the uhaul.
Sometimes I actually deserve to win a gold medal.
