Talked to my daughter in France. She has now been to the ER 4x because of her severe cat allergy.

Results are back. Daughter's cat allergy is extremely severe. Her allergy is at the top of the chart, top 5% of severity. Only people with autoimmune diseases who are allergic to cats have a more severe allergy. She found an apartment at the university. They were very helpful to her, finding her a place that had no cat hair or dander, because the entire building has never had an animal in it. And it is an old building. So odd -- when a tenant turns 31, they have to move out immediately. So she has a year -- she will be 30 in mid-October.

She also told me that she doesn't like French food, and she's been to some pretty nice restaurants. She says it is too bland. She likes the breads and pastries and candy. I said, well I'd just live on that, then. Her Loveliness started to give me a speech about nutrition, but realized after 3 words were out that I was pulling her leg.

Other than that, I am organizing myself, starting with the office area. Lots of papers. This is such a horrible task. I am looking for about an inch thick sheaf of lab orders for Monday's lab tests. I had them in my possession. They are not in the car. They also do not appear to be in the house, which makes no sense. I did not throw them away. This is how I got into paperwork h*ll in the first place. Maybe I have a poltergeist! Maybe I am a poltergeist!

This is the story of my life. I decide to be a Compliant Patient, and right away everything I need to do that disappears! This is about 6 months worth of bloodwork I'm supposed to have done.

Also, today I take my son on his second driving lesson on an actual road. I cannot stand being in the car with someone who is learning to drive. Two days ago we did this, and I stayed calm and patient because I am good at faking it. (This because I didn't want my little boys to throw bugs at me, so I pretended to love bugs. It worked.) I even patiently said, Stop. Why, son asked. Because you are going to hit that huge Uhaul if you don't. I can just turn the wheel more. You will still hit the uhaul.

Sometimes I actually deserve to win a gold medal.

My grocery delivery was sent to another address, so had to go get it as it was in my neighborhood. The house was for sale and no one there so picked up groceries on their porch steps. Some frozen foods were ruined and now Publix issued a credit for those items and said this person would not be on my account to deliver again. What a hassle.

I seem to just about be finished assembling this cabinet for our new bathroom. My god but there were a lot of pieces!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BKLBYTF1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Unfortunately in trying to do it by myself two pieces were broken. I called Amazon customer help to try to buy just those two pieces. They said they'd send them to me right away and I thanked them. Trouble is they were sending me a whole other unit which weighs 52 kilos, over 100 pounds. When it arrived I carefully opened the box just enough to locate the two pieces I needed then I repackaged it as it had been. Meanwhile I did succeed in adding in the two new pieces, which wasn't easy at all.

Still waiting to get pick up date for the unit I need to return. They will assemble it for you but the cost for this one was nearly the same as the price of the unit. I'd be done but my brother and his kids are coming by for a dinner and a visit so maybe tomorrow I'll finally hit that finish line..

@WheatenLover I can tell you from long experience that your paperwork will be in the last place you look;).

Don't hit me. I'm sensitive and bruise easily:ROFLMAO:.

ETA: And here's your medal🥇.
Thanks for the medal!

When other people are looking for something, that's what I tell them. That, and if they are men, I remind them to look under things.

Storm Amy has hit with avengeance here...Very high winds... trees down....

I've just been up on the Barn roof.. trying to stick the tarp down, because it's being ripped off in pieces by the winds....

I can only reach so far on the high ladder unfortunately because I refuse to climb onto the roof. Hopefully my roof sealent will hold the tarp for now...I'l have to get a handyman in to redo the whole roof...

Have the best day you can Peeps of SF>.. 🍂 🍂 🍂
On the barn roof, Holly, for goodness sake. The wind caused our dance function to close early, for safety's sake, but we were ready to leave anyway. Digby Hall where the dance was held is about a twenty minute drive home. My other half asked me if I was okay with her going to her cabin for an hour or so. She will be working on that shirt so I had better plie her with hot drinks.

Did anyone have a penfriend in their younger days? I still handwrite most of my mail, whilst my lady is busy I have written to my sister, it's her birthday soon so the letter is inside her greeting card. There are two friends whom I exchange written letters with, but today though I had a letter, typed, from the pub/restaurant where we are having our Christmas Day meal. The lady who replied was delighted, and confirmed our booking. We have New Year's Eve booked too, but that's at a dance venue.

I had no choice.. the storm was blowing the tarp right off the roof and tearing into ribbons... I had to get up there and stop it... Couldn't wait to find a handyman who might get here in a weeks' time... 🙃😇

Yes I had penfriends when I was young... as a teen ager I had a penfriend who was in the RAF but at the time based in Wales...

Later as an adult I had penfriends in many states in the USA

Have had a lovely day. Went with DD and family to watch our older grandchildren's outdoor volleyball games at a nearby park, then onto their house for a nice lunch. Lox, bagels and all the trimmings plus a salad.

When I came home I tackled our coat closet - a task I've been putting off for over a year. Thing is, it took less than an hour to organize it, set aside some items for donation, and relocate a lot of jackets, sweatshirts, blankets, etc., that had taken up temporary permanent residence.

For someone living in a warm climate with few days or rain, I own a sizeable amount of sweatshirts, jackets and warm scarves. Like at least a dozen of each. Way more than I need, but they're all so nice that I hate to ditch any of them. Guess the thinning out task will have to wait for another day.

I did put some infant items in a donation box though. My youngest grandchild is now 19 months old and is past bottles, and early infant equipment, clothing and toys.

Next to be organized is the closet in our guest room that has also become a stash-and-dash type catchall site.

Realized I’m a hoarder. I love containers of any kinds and had better save them, just in case. I spent a couple of hours repacking my travel containers since I’m now using two different size suitcases and want to be able to pack efficiently. Made myself get rid of lots of things.

On the first evening of the trip we just got home from, I took out my sandals that I wear in a hotel room or outside in the summer. The soles on one broke into a dozen pieces. I made sure that a replacement pair went in immediately today.

My definition of a hoarder is someone whose numerous collections or possessions interfere with their ability to live a healthy, comfortable life — physically, emotionally, socially and financially.

I'm not a hoarder by even the loosest definition of the word and don't know if you truly are either, Jules.

That said, I undoubtedly own a lot more "stuff" than necessary, and in many categories. Non-perishable foods included. It's definitely time for me to slow down on accumulations (she says after buying 13 cans of soup a few days ago because they were offered at an extraordinary sale price).

Decluttering and staying organized is an ongoing battle for many of us.

After yesterday's Adventure in Purging Cabinets, I'm on a roll and gonna do the little storage closet off the kitchen this morning. If anybody needs me, that's where I'll be. No telling what *treasures* will be found in there.
