That's SUCH good news, @hollydolly! Pays more and isn't far from her house? Sounds like it will tick all the boxes for her. What a relief for both of you.
..absolutely , especially as she's just had her whole house remodelled.. and she was thinking she might have had to move house..

.... at almost 50 she was not expecting to find it easy to find a new job.. however she's so good at her job, it wasn't a surprise to anyone that she was headhunted

A new pic today of 15 week old puppy Lenny...

That's a good picture :) but I wasn't sure..... Over in the thread about pet's names, you mentioned not having any animals of your own. So does the new puppy belong to your daughter (?) because in the next post Starsong asked about your daughter.

Oh, I see now, I went back to the pet's names thread and he was the last picture over there (where you posted your daugther's pets). Sorry - was hurrying too much.

Went to my Primary Doctor for 6 month check up. First, she was pleased I survived my spat of UTIs...just told me to keep up on hand washing and my cranberry pills.
Next..got nice news. For the first time in a while, I have LOST weight. Just 6.5 pounds, but a plus for me. Drinking more water and walking more is helping
be proud Marie...6.5 pounds is almost 1/2 a stone.. that's a good amount (y)

Lenny has an admirer, my wife thinks he's adorable. Much as she would love another dog it won't happen. My wife's sister, who lived alone, passed away leaving two cats. Sister worked from home, her company raised the alarm after sister hadn't logged on for two days. It's a painful tale and after we ended up adopting the cats we knew that such a scenario could happen to us, given our age. That's why our cat and our two adoptees, will be our last pets.

Today after we have cleared a mountain of fallen leaves, we shall damage our wealth with the supermarket provisions shop. Later, we need to see the menu for the Halloween Party that we were invited to, it's being held in an old Ye Worlde, thatched roof restaurant. The way that the party is planned, menu choices must be selected in advance, given the limited amount of time that the event has.

Another party tonight, well a swing era dinner dance actually. We are off to be entertained by Simon Lane. A busy day so I must make sure that my lady gets her rest when we return from the supermarket, she wore herself out yesterday, and that does worry me.

We're going to my older daughter's today for lunch. She just moved into a nice new place and has some room for small entertaining now. I'm happy for her. She had some rough years around and after the pandemic but she got through and made her way out.
I made a garlic herb bread to go with her SOs tortellini soup.
It should be a pretty drive today and they live in a woodsy area near a state park. Nice break after working on my quilt square.

The bread you made sounds awesome! Enjoy your day with your daughter. What a great Mom❤️

My daughter has a craft sale today. My wife and I will be tending the table to lend a hand
This craft sale is in support of person's with physical or intellectual disabilities, all crafts at this sale were made by them.
My daughter is 44 and has Down Syndrome.
Very inspiring. Your daughter is priceless with a big heart and her parents are pretty special, too. Hope the day goes well for your family.

Afternoon Peeps of SF.... from a beautiful albeit chilly London..... 🍂 🍂 🌞

I have 3 hours of Free Electricty today from my supplier...3 hours is almost unknown it's usually an hour.occasionally 2 ...... from mid-day to 3pm... so as you can imagine I;ve turned everything on to make full use of it.

I've got the dehumidifiers on in the barn, the Shark Vac, charging, the hand held vacs charging.. the heating on.. the washing machine on.... in fact I really didn't need to do any laundry because frustratingly I just did it 2 days ago... but I gathered enough towels and bedding including my trainers.. to do another wash today ..

In a little while I'm going to batch cook some Minced beef , and make my usual monthly dishes of cottage pies...

I've put an update of our friend @jet who had a stroke... for all of those of you who have been wishing, and praying for his improvement... you'll find it here.. 🙏

One of our members , and my personal friend needs prayers please

@QuietByNature ..Kudos to your fabulous daughter for her fund raising.. I hope she makes a lot today 🌷

@hearlady ..have a fab day with your daughter at her new house....

Have the best Saturday you can Folks...🌺🌺

Welp we did the chores and now we await 1-8" of snow and 30-40 mph wind. Storms here are almost always not as bad as predicted. Our daughter, her boyfriend and their young yellow Labrador will be up for the stormy weekend to visit.

The 4 of us need to pick up our 25-26 season ski passes so we'll do that, w about a month to go before skiing starts. The new passes are RFID so no more showing your pass and hopefully no more annoying ticket checkers gumming up the works.

Building my fitness right now for the upcoming ski season so that's the priority for the next month so I'll be ready to rip. The focus is on aerobic conditioning and plyometrics. It's brutal. For those interested ggl "leg blasters."

The elk rut is winding down, hope all those cows are pregnant w big bulls! Our resident 7x7 the other afternoon. He's had a great 2 months, praying he survives the winter!!!

(As many pictures that I have posted it still is sometimes impossible to get a pic to post, which probably means I don't have a full understanding of the picture posting process, for instance I had to manipulate this pic 4x before it would post.)

Hello! It's another drizzly day.....no skating for me today.

It's probably just as well. Personally, I think Dio's stitches are too fresh and new, to go skating anyway. But I think he would have gone if the weather was better.

I finally got my cleaning project done yesterday! I wanted to move a small bookcase out and clean behind it. The bookcase is in the kitchen and used for main, Goober's basket, and a few other light items. I had thought it would be a simple task, and maybe take about 20 minutes or so. WRONG!! What a mess!!! Well, I knew it needed it, and now I'm happy that it's done.

I'm not sure what mischief I'll get into today, but I'm sure I'll find something!

Right... the washing is nearly done and ready to put into the dryer in a few minutes...it's 1/2 past 1... so I still have an hour and a half free electricity

I've got the meat and veggies all cooking away on the stove.. and they'll be ready in about 1/2 an hour... and ready to chill down, to portion up....

My neighbour who brings food around, came around last night for a chat with the children.. her husband has gone back to his country to have a wake for his recently departed father.. and she's just starting a new job after the school holidays. She's completey overwhelmed and grateful that as an eastern European, she's been offered the opportunity to teach special needs children in our local school

She never thought when she moved here to the UK 20 years ago she could ever achieve such heights as an unqualified person... but she's very clever regardless... so I'm delighted for her

The rest of my day watch college football game, having dinner with Connie, Bob& 2 other residents at 5:45

I think I've resized all my pictures by hand, and I keep it to 2 MB, otherwise they get one of many error messages that appear to me to be random. Perhaps they're not random msgs and I'm making different mistakes w/out ever learning which mistake leads to a particular error. And I've managed to post pictures that have been rejected before. In essence the photo posting process is as clear as mud, to me.

Well done your neighbour. A fellow, originally from Lithuania, proved to be an exceptional carpenter, he was also something of a rather good, painter and decorator, he it was who prepared our home ready for sale. What a hard working fellow he proved to be.

Back from provision shopping, the price of everything, it's become eye watering. Looking up inflation I found that the 5.9% between 1968 and today meant that it costs 22.16 times more than it did in 1968, the year we were married. Now I must check up to see if she is actually resting.

Terrible weather today. Strong winds and pouring rain. The wind is supposed to ease overnight, but it looks like more rain next week. Went to ALDI and the fishmongers this morning, so it's that good old British classic, Fish and Chips this evening.

It's not that cold, but the wind and rain makes everything gloomy so I think it's time to light the fire in the lounge and make the place a bit more cosy.
