How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I need my head examined. I swear I do. I went into Dollar Tree to pick up some Christmas money holders and on the way out, my purse flopped open and my wallet fell out....so did about everything in my wallet.

I gathered everything up and headed out the car. As soon as I got in, I started putting everything in my wallet as the Spousal Equivalent drove off. Immediately, my charge card flipped out of my hand and went down between the seats. I couldn't reach it and said, "Please remind me to reach from behind when we get home and get that card."

We get two minutes down the road and I exclaim, "I don't have my charge card! I must have lost it back at the store!" So we turned around and I went back into the store. The minute I walked through the door, I remembered that I had dropped it between the seats.

I stomp back to the card and snarl, "I TOLD you I dropped it between the seats and you were supposed to remind me to look for it." He looked at me with that deer-in-the-headlights look. I think we BOTH need our heads examined.

Actually, he DID get a Cat Scan of his head last week (yes, there IS a brain there) and I'm getting one in January (the jury is still out on that one....).

Am I just getting old or am I losing my marbles?

I've done very similar things too.... and worried the same thing... I've come to realise that we just have too much crammed into our heads.. brains weren't meant to store over 70 years worth of stuff.... so things drop off the edge like a conveyor belt...lol

As for me walking outside, the only time I won't go is if the temp is -10 below or if the winds are 30mph esp in winter. I get stir crazy if I can't go outside even for a minute Sue
 
Been very busy today... Dad has been having issues with passing out randomly. He has COPD, is 85 but always busy. "Hen on a hot rock" syndrome. He did it twice yesterday, once in the grocery and once walking up to the house door. I had just seen him walk past the window, but didn't come in. I looked out and he was face down on the porch!

After we got him up he looked more disoriented than usual after one of those episodes, they do happen somewhat often. So we got him to the hospital (that was fun...) they decided he had a form of pneumonia causing him to go short of oxygen. They admitted him for observation, me and mom got back. I didn't sleep well and then when mom went to the hospital today, I had a long list of chores for me and my daughter. About caught up I think. Hoping they got him on the right path now.
 
Morning Peeps of SF..... a completely different day today...glorious sun....☀️☀️☀️

Today I'm having new wardrobes delivered.. they're a whole set , so they'll take up all of one wall... so this morning I've had to clear the room where they're going. That meant taking all the clothes off the temporary clothing rail and taking them all into another room , dismantling the rail ... then trying to move a large chest of drawers which is so heavy I couldn't move it, so I had to clear all the drawers out... and then drag it across the carpet... to the other side of the room... nearly broke my back.

I'm going to ask the delivery men if they will unpack the wardrobes for me.. it's not that I can't do it.. but if I do it means that they won't be able to put them into position because I'll need to be able to get all around them to cut the packaging off.., and then once I remove the packing I'll have to try and get them moved into position myself.. so I hope they will agree to do it. Clearly I'll make sure they're tipped well

This morning also it has been more like a typical Monday in that the phone has not stopped ringing... including the Car Insurance company, still dealing with the accidents...

Anyway hopefully that's all for today, and I just have to wait for the delivery now .

I had a dreaful nightmare last night. I dreamt that my daughters' ex had beaten her to death at their home in Spain.!

As far as I know he's never laid a hand on her, but they did have an acrimonious seperation.. he cheated on her, got another woman pregnant.. the female knew he was in a relationship as well..😡 .........but this was 5 years ago.....


The nightmare was absolutely horrible. I woke up with my heart beating out of my chest 😨😱

I think the reason for the dream was because it was 5 years ago yesterday that my daughter had to leave her home in Spain after selling her business... and make the 3 day drive, and by boat all by herself .. bringing as much of her belonging as she could and with 3 dogs as well.... it was such an emotional time for her .. and we were heartbroken for her

I've learned something from my Dad's misfortunes... we both don't mind going out in the cold not dressed heavily enough.
My cats both gave me a funny look as I went out dressed properly, was kind of funny. They have better sense than I do lol.
We still have snow/ice and currently 4 degrees F out there. I was exhausted last night, went to bed early, and of course woke early too.
So I went through my phone and straightened up my contacts list, addresses, open hours, etc. I just now stopped and laid back down. Spooky was Very happy last night, mom bought her favorite foods so she was a very happy cat last night! Plus, I was home today, her and Ursula both missed me the day before. Got my upcoming Insurance changes made for next year. Wish I owned an Insurance company! Wow.

Holly, I'm glad you're feeling better now, organizing closets/clothes can be a job! I did that last week. Ugh. Wishing everyone here a blessed day today :)
 
Morning all, my early morning walk at 6:50 temp was 12 with no wind,had a fleece covering my face as I walked across the street wearing my yellow reflector vest to buy today's issue of USA Today. I noticed a driver as I was walking on the other side of the street speeding, went thru a red light guess was late for work,Yikes!
This morning going to weekly exercise class at 10 for 45 min. The rest of my day read today;s NYT,probably go out for afternoon walk since the forecast calls for sunny day temps in the 30's

Welp overdid it yesterday! Of course I'll never learn, legs took a beating from my lower body endurance training aka "leg blasters" topped off w the skiing.

That must have been terrible for her to go through and watching your daughter deal w all that was probably gut wrenching.

thanks ..I do have these furniture sliders.. I forgot all about them..I'll go and get them now


ETA..I got the sliders out now.. sometimes I despair of my memory thb... anyway I've managed to get 4 under the drawers that I moved this morning... and that's helped.. and I've got more for when the wardrobes arrive... thanks for reminding me (y)

Good morning everyone. I had a call from Walgreens yesterday and they left a voice message. The man said, I thought he said, they have my keys I lost there and come pick them up. I didn't think I lost any keys but went and checked my keys and then my husband said it could be the key fob and I then wondered if it was a credit card. So there I was going through my purse checking everything and nothing missing.

I was getting upset so called the pharmacy and was put on hold for 10 minutes. I went and listened again to the voice mail and just couldn't understand it. I called back and finally was put through to the pharmacy. I told the woman and she said the person calling was telling me about a new vaccine, something that sounded like car keys. I was so relieved and then wondered about what vaccine she meant. :confused:

Sorry this was so long but just thought I would mentioned this incident.

I usually read voice mail messages; it's quicker and sticks in my mind better for some reason.

That happens to me, too. It's easy to forget about magical little helpers if they're rarely used.

tha's exactly right..they live in the sideboard which I rarely ever go into tbh.... I need to really put some under my sofa legs , to help me move it because it's incredibly heavy... but of course to do that, I first have to lift the sofa up, and there lies the problem... :D
