Funny how something simple can morph into a complete furniture re-arranging.
So, today the wife's new recliner is on it's way. Have to replace the old (non power) one with this ziipy power everything model. First, drag old chair into bedroom. Then, set up new chair... after re-arranging the other duel recliners... (can't leave the fur babies on the floor). ;) Now, wife remembers how I've been complaining about how my bed is no longer comfortable. Hey, let's remove your bed and place the other recliner (not the one I just moved), oh no, she means the other one in the spare bedroom. Did I mention, we have 7 recliners o_O.

Well, in order to use the spare bedroom recliner, first I have to move the oh so heavy hospital bed from my room. Drag it into the spare room and drag the chair back to my room. Of course, I have to re-arrange both the spare bedroom and my room. (make sure my Southern Comfort is within reach). Now, I have to hope my fur baby adapts to the chair instead of a bed.

Then, the new chair shows up. 3 huge boxes. brought them inside. Open up... and WHT, there's 2 bottoms and one top. Emailed them and they said whoops, just keep the extra bottom. Great... now the wife is looking at this extra gift and said, "why not put this bottom with your old chair's top"? Now, more work for my aching back.

All this, plus, I had to go out and add a heat light to my well because now they're saying it will be down to 23 degree's tonite and tomorrow. That meant some extra covers for the vulnerable plants and another heat light for the tomato's. I refuse to let this weather get them. Sure hope this chair in my room is comfy. :)

@hollydolly it sounds like a good day for shopping with the help from nice men. You should get some food and enjoy the rest of your day. 🤗
did just that... changed my mind and had chicken in tempura batter with Swede and carrot mash .... and now I'm sitting down comfortably nice and cosy.... with a cuppa tea...

Hi Senior Forums friends. I am having outpatient back surgery, specifically "minimally invasive lumbar decompression," tomorrow, so I would appreciate good thoughts and prayers coming my way! I could have elected to have a steroid injection but, after doing the research, decided that the surgical option gets at the root cause of the problem, instead of just the symptoms. One of my daughters is coming over to take me in the single digit freezing temperatures to the surgical center; another daughter is taking care of my dog Maggie. I will go into the health care section at the continuing care retirement community where I live for 2-3 days. Thanks, Dennis.

Someone has parked outside my house... I noticed them earlier even tho' it was dark because their lights were on.

a few hours later I noticed they were still there.. still with the lights on.. and then I relaised there's no-one in the car... and so it looks like someone has forgotten to turn their lights off.. which is unusual because usually a car gives off an alarm if you get out with your lights still on....

Anyway I notice now at 2am..that the lights are now becoming very dim, looks like they'll come back to a flat battery !

Busy day today; I had to rush to get two more files sent out. Then I ran out to UPS to ship a box to my grandchildren with some small age-appropriate bath bombs so they can have even more fun at bathtime! And I got some soothing lavender baby wash for my little infant granddaughter, who is too young for bath bombs.

It was $14 to ship the package, in state! 💸I probably should have waited until I drive up there when the weather gets warmer, but I'm an impatient sort and didn't want to wait that long. Also, we're usually stuck in winter weather clear through the end of April.

I should really do more work, but I'm tired and am going to head to bed early with a book instead, and get up extra-early tomorrow. Or try to, anyway.

I hope everyone is having a good evening, or day.

It's been a tough week and it's only Tuesday - visited my cardiologist this morning and found out I have Pulmonary Hypertension, which is not good. I also found out one of my older brothers will soon be in hospice care. Plus one of our Aunts passed away Monday at the age of 94. May she Rest In Peace.

Sorry to be a downer, but no plans or achievements in sight.

I just realised talking of anniversaries as I was on another thread..that today the 28th of January as it is here now...is the 46th Anniversary of the day I moved into this house... dd was almost 4 years old...

I never wanted it.. I really didn't like it.. and I've never come to like it much better even after all these years....altho' now of course it's a very different house to the one we first came to see...

It was to close to his parents.. just doors away... and it seemed small to what I was used to, I called it a Dolls; house for years...... and cold.. and the people who lived here before us had been here just a very short time , they were elderly, and they'd decorated in very dark brown colours... so it was not the house I wanted but I was outvoted by the X... and now he's gone, his parents are long gone... ... and I;m still here

@hollydolly, when you mentioned that date it reminded me that the 28th is also the anniversary of the Challenger explosion. Wow, I can't believe it's been 40 years. That memory is as crystal clear as the ones I have of hearing the first reports on 9/11. 😢

Oh wow..... I hadn't realised the Challenger explosion happened on the same date as we moved into this house.... 40 years?..my God it doesn't seem possible does it ...?:(

I've just been doing a little research and did you know on this date in 1855...

The first locomotive ran from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean on the Panama Railway?

In 1916.... Manitoba women are the first in Canada to win the right to vote and to hold provincial office
On this date in 1935....

Iceland becomes the first Western country to legalize abortion

On this date.....in 1988..... Canada's Supreme court declares anti-abortion law unconstitutional

On this date in 1944 WWII: 683 British RAF bombers attack Berlin, Germany

visited my local HACCS centre that provides nourishment and companionship and friendly chats! - as an ex-health professional myself I sometimes find myself inadvertently lapsing into 'counsellor listening mode' but trying not to respond unless urgently pushed! It happened today and others were beckoning for me to join that at their end of the table - I'm sure I never gave my CV out at all? then we were all brought down to earth with a colouring in exercise [I do h ate these - feels like a kindergarten] - all these helpers must go away and do some studying somewhere about conversing with and respecting the elderly? still I must confess we have some laughs along the way!

Good mornning Peeps of SF.... 🌞🌞 on this gloriously sunny morning.....all the windows and back door are open to let the sunshine in...

The skies are blue, they said it would be cloudy today so I'm pleased that's not the case....

I may take a trip to the recycle centre today... I'll see how I feel.

Have the best wednesday you can folks...🌻

Good morning, everyone. Cold this morning at 34 degrees but sunny, it will be 56 today as a high.

We are going to town later this morning. We seem to have a busy schedule this month with doctor appointments and friends coming to visit.

Sorry @hawkdon please take care of yourself and best wishes to you. Hope you are better today.🤗

Everyone, have a good day. :)

I just went out, and I think the car I was talking about last night, has been dumped outside my house.

It's full of junk inside... and not really parked properly..so I'm wondering if it's been stolen and may ran out of petrol and they just abandoned it.

This is very odd because this is not a neaighborhood where we have stolen or abandoned cars.. but this does look suspicious...

I called the police about the car... I went out and looked at it, and it's bashed up, and full of junk..not the type of vehicle we have around here... so the police have said that they will investigate to see if it's been reported stolen...

Morning all, I went for a brief walk at 6:50,temp was 9 windchill-3. I tried to walk towards the back driveway{ where the delivery trucks& garbage trucks} come but couldn't get there due to it wasn't shoveled so I turned around and walked by the driveway/adjoining sidewalks walked a couple of times
When I came back in ,talked with Tim one of the maintenance guys, asked when he had time to either shovel or use the small snow plow and make a path.I know other residents like to walk that way as well.
My friend, Mary is stopping by at 10 to pick up her reading material, told her I didn't; have anyplace I needed to go this week. The rest of my day read today's NYT,read my book, see what lunch& dinner menu looks like today
Every body have a good day
