I have sad news to share about another beloved resident here at Canterbury Woods. I've mentioned time to time about friend, Connie, she moved in Nov 2017,month after this place opened. We received an email this afternoon, she passed away yesterday ,I think she was 93. She was a very warm, outgoing, terrific lady who I affectionately called the' Queen Bee' She was the head of the 'welcoming committee', called me the 2nd night after I moved in inviting me to dinner. I had no idea what to expect, that evening I met Bob, retired Catholic priest, Andy, retired minister. Afterwards she took me into our library, gave me a packet of information sheets 'Learning The Ropes' which I still have
After I had been here 6 months, she included me in the weekly Thurs dinner get together in the dining room with Bob,Gene&Jim,got to know them all better. When we knew Connie wasn't coming back here, was at the other CW site in Williamsville, we've continued the weekly get together, before we start our dinner, we raised our glasses in honor of her& Val who passed away 3 weeks ago
I'm sad but its a blessing that she is no longer in pain. I will miss her very much like other residents who knew her, have my memories of her

awww ,,,sorry to hear that you've lost a friend and mentor , Sue.... you have mentioned Connie on several occasions.... She lived a long life, and it sound like she was active almost right up to the end... may she R.I.P.. and as you say out of pain now... ..but it always leaves a big hole in our lives when we lose a friend...
