WELP, i JUST HAD my first battle with WASPZILLA for
this year....it got in the door AFTER I had sprayed it,
and of course was looking for me, but I used a handy
broom and hit it and out the door it went, but had to
douse it again with the spray!!! I'm sure it was the
first of many for the year~~~!!!!:devilish:

Had a very bad fall in my room. Hit my bedside table and walker on my left side. I don't know if I fractured a rib or disc, but I am in severe pain. All because I wanted to get my middle window opened on this gorgeous day. I move to fast and do not watch where I am turning to. Still awaiting the x-ray tech.
Hope it’s not too serious and they give you some pain meds that help while you’re recuperating.

Oh No...Lois.... :eek:where are you now.. are you at the hospital ?

Son's birthday. We went out to eat. It was not a success. His dad now made arrogant jokes about his brother as if he has adhd, which he believes, and should get pills. He then behaved nuts for fun and said: I can't help myself oh LOL and he said: The people who say that someone is not normal are actually not normal themselves. Have you ever thought about that? He was not amused.

I thought he had become normal by now, but it came out again. I moved my fingers and he played with his cutlery at 16, a clear sign of insanity and you must have that from your mother. We are not like that. We, meaning his superb family. I just never respond. What do I care. Babble what you want. It doesn't affect me and I won't cause trouble, but my son was not having it.

Then he said: I don't have adhd and I said: Indeed you don't, but don't act silly and behave. Your aunt said last time that you're so calm. The way back was tense. I don't think we'll go out to eat with the next birthday. He still only lives with me.

This son is the only person who dares to tell him the truth and stand up to him.

Yesterday was a productive day. I did laundry, refilled my laundry supply tote while waiting for the clothes to wash and I finally made the impossible broccoli pie I'd been meaning to make for a couple of weeks. I also worked on my federal taxes. Almost finished and for the first time in decades, I'm getting a nice refund. Of course, I fell asleep before getting a chance to post about my day. 🙄

Today was a beautiful, warm day so I took the train to Hoboken. I stopped at Dunkin, which is in the train station, and got a corn muffin. I sat on a bench just outside of the train station and started my muffin and the iced tea I brought from home. At first I was going to walk to the Jersey City side, which reminds me of being in a beach town, but I forgot to wear my visor and the bright sun bothered my eyes, so I walked to the more shady Hoboken park instead, sat on a bench and finished my muffin.

My plan to get my in exercise by walking the promenade to the other end of the park went out the window. I sat on that bench, called a friend and just relaxed while enjoying the river view. This is New York City across the Hudson River.

... beautiful sunny morning here 🌞 but temps at just 8 deg...so it feels quite chilly

I'm staying home today because I have the gas engineer coming to inspect the new boiler in the utility room.. it;s the law that it has to be inspected regularly , and as this is brand new they have to make sure it's been installed properly

@Lewkat ....what's the diagnosis... how are you feeling after your fall ?

Have the best Wednesday you can folks.... 🌷🌺

A phone call at nine o'clock this morning was the best call of 2026. On Thursday 26th March, be at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The date is set for surgery to repair the hernia that's been giving me serious grief as of late. Hallelujah, I was so close to booking the surgery at a private health care clinic in Southampton.

@hollydolly
I have heard gas prices in California are around $6.00 US/gallon. Here, two weeks ago it was down to $2.39/gal; yesterday it was $3.79/gal. Still much lower than in your area but quite an increase. During the Biden administration, it was over $4.00/gal. Looks like we may challenge that soon.

Yesterday was in the low 60's F and thinking of you, I opened one window in the main living area. So nice to have fresh air come in.

This morning, it is very windy. Across the street up a steep hill, there is an old barn and I can hear the metal roof slamming around. This has happened before; I hope it doesn't come flying off and take out electrical or internet, or hit my house. Fingers crossed.

Your pictures are beautiful!

Morning all folks.....well I survived first big storm
of this year, not sure if any tornados touched down
here, but lots of tennis ball size hail around the
kansas city area, don't believe I had any, at least
I didn't hear any....dunno how much rain either,
and come daylight I will see if added limbs are
down from trees....wild evening for sure....my left hip has been hurting for couple days, nothing to
do about it tho....have some bills to pay, see what
other trouble I can get into today....take care...;):love::coffee::devilish:

1773235631939.gif I've been extremely busy lately, and haven't been here in way too long. Too much has been going on, and I'm not going to blather on at this time. I just wanted to say that I miss my SF friends and hope that everyone is doing OK! 1773235966266.gif

I was planning on taking my Mom to Wal-Mart today, but I "they" are calling for 90% chance of rain. I don't think I should go.....we'll see. Right now, it's not looking good.

Other than that, I don't have a back-up plan, so I'm not sure what I'll be doing today.

Good morning, everyone; I have a very straightforward day ahead, just work and reviewing the scholarship applications I mentioned in a different post. I'll be popping out to the gym later to do some indoor walking.

We're still snowy and cold here, grrrr, but no use complaining. (Although I do, in fact, complain about it, and rather often, too. ;))

The scholarship applications have been so interesting to read. They are quite short: a couple of questions and four short (one- or two-paragraph) essays. I'm glad I volunteered.

I'd better get to work. I hope everyone is well. :coffee:😎

@hollydolly yes, it is a new high for this time of year. But, it will go down to 72 tomorrow with thunderstorms and then in the 80's for highs the rest of the week. Weather here is so strange for our winter with freezing, then cold and now hot with little rain.
