Yesterday I had an annual nurse visit which my insurance provides. My blood pressure was very high. The nurse called my cardiologist. I got the call back while I was driving. Returning the call to them is complicated. Wait on hold. Press three for your branch. Leave a message. They called back this morning and I missed it again by seconds. The process starts all over again.

It shouldn't be this hard.
Something fishy is going on here. I think its called progress. Plus the matching cardiologist and high blood pressure thing for both of us. Hmmm.

My blood pressure is very high, even with doubling the dose of the meds. So the nurse called for me to make an immediate appointment with my cardiologist. I got so frustrated that I nearly threw my phone out the window. So many machine things answer the phone now and they send me around the mulberry bush.

I ended up talking to the hospital's scheduling department, which had no appts showing for my doctor. So I called the doctor's office directly and got an appointment. Over all, these calls took 2 days to complete. The good news is that I always get a pretty quick appointment. I think that means he's worried if he waits too long, I'll die. :)

After 2 days of skiing, from Nevada, drove the 234 miles back home yesterday evening and am now recovering from all that strenuous activity. Seem to be surprisingly fit for my first 2 days this winter and am already skiing again at elite levels. Tuesday was an optimal sunny, near calm day, at upper 20F temps while Wednesday was cloudy, breezy, with cold cloud fog at 9000+ foot ridge lines. Yesterday was all mogul skiing on the above run. Plan to return next Monday for 3 days of skiing. Motel 6 was just $51 Tuesday night.

Tuesday, got whacked by a chairlift while getting on a lift into the back of my right leg calf that is still sore. Other wise, am hardly sore anywhere that is rather surprising for this 77 yo. First day really using my Pixel 10 Pro that went well.

Some difficult snow to powder ski in, with a melt/thaw frozen surface cake, I horsed a few turns through.

You are an amazing guy! I love your photos!

It's just after 8.30am.. and the plumber has been here for about an hour..fitting new pipes and welding ....

I gave him coffee as soon as he got here, he'd' driven 50 miles in this horrible weather.. however it's hard to communicate because he doesn't speak English.. he only has a very few words..

It's still torrential rain, and the wheelie bins have just been emptied, so I went out to get them, and I wasn't prepared for the high winds which nearly blew me over. Other people bins have been blown into the road already 😲

Just had a text from the furniture company they won't be delivering today after all... I suspect due to the bad weather

Man-oh-man. I alternate between feeling sorry for you and laughing, been there done that. At least here they have all spoken English. Except for one tree guy whose English was about as good as my Spanish but between the two of us we managed.
well the plumber can say about 3 words in English which tbh is a bit of a concern for me hoping he can at least read English and know which part goes with which part lol.... I had to repeat several times before he understood I was asking him if he wanted coffee...

Good morning to everyone. Some people here speak with accents and some of their English is hard to understand. I usually ask them to repeat and I try understand what I need to know by repeating the answer back to them.

It will be 84 degrees today and a nice day to go out and do some things we need to do.

I hope all of you have a nice day and those not feeling well, I give my best wishes to you. :)

Good Friday morning and the ninth day of the month already🥸

My entire area is under flood watch. Floods are about the only thing that do not affect me as I live on the second highest spot in this county. This property has excellent natural drainage. If I go underwater, there’s no point in trying to go anywhere because everybody else has been underwater long before me.

The battery is in the Kawasaki. It rolls over, but as usual it won’t start for gas issues. It’s always been this way. Nobody likes these Kawasaki four wheelers because they’re such a PITA. Instead of adding some hot shot, my brother suggested buying some octane booster to see if maybe that might solve its problems. I don’t have any, so that will have to wait until I go to town on Monday.

On another note, dare I say how easy it is to point and click in the middle of the night when you’re on WalMart‘s website😂😂😂

I didn’t order anything that I don’t need, but boy it was tempting to go skating around their website and see what I might want to have lol lol.

I bought five items for $122, saving $66. I much prefer ordering from Walmart than Amazon because Amazon always gives me a lot of 💩💩💩💩. When I compare products and pricing, I’m pretty sure Walmart sources from the same places Amazon does anyway. Amazon may have gigundus warehouses in several places, but they still have to outsource from somewhere.

Anyway, it appears my twin size electric blanket and my case of handwarmers that fit inside gloves, will be the first to arrive. ATM, I have a chair size electric blanket. I am hoping the twin size will be big enough to keep the dogs off my lap in the middle of the night. Two dogs who each way 75 to 85 pounds on my lap are cause for lack of sleep.

As of this writing, the dogs won’t go outside because it’s raining, although not that hard that they couldn’t go out, but they might melt you know. And the horses won’t come out from under the overhang because they also think they might melt in the rain.🙄🙄.

It is 64° out and we’re in for one more round of storms later today, then the temperatures are going to tank and the high will only be around 39° on Sunday. I just love these wild temperature swings —- NOT

Good morning; we are getting ready for another sort-of cold snap, with temperatures of 18 F (–8 C) tomorrow but shooting up to 43 F (6 C) by Monday. Such a strange weather pattern we seem to be caught in here!

I am hurrying to finish a chapter so I can send it out to the author before I meet my friends for coffee a bit later.

Hope everyone is having a nice day.

Hangin’ in at a nursing home @KSav getting IV antibiotics as well as having surgical wounds dressed once a day. Trying to figure out how not to go crazy. Trying to figure out how to make my home a place for healing instead of loneliness and depression.
Wish I were home. Miss my cats 🐈🐈‍⬛ so much.
Coming here is a huge comfort for me and I feel better when I visit

Good morning to all! Happy to report successful missions yesterday!!

Submitted the business invoice plus FINISHED going through and updating my 3" loose-leaf recipe binder. I started the project in 2024 but lost enthusiasm halfway through. Yesterday I stuck with it. 202 recipes, nearly all my own creations or heavily tweaked from the original versions.

All are updated, retyped as necessary, placed in chapter order, numbered, enclosed in plastic sleeves, and the table of contents printed out.

All that remains for the book itself is to transfer the titles to a spreadsheet so I can easily sort them for an alphabetical index at the end.

Funny thing: DH leafed through the book and started waxing poetic about a peanut butter pie I used to make. I'd nearly forgotten about that recipe and realized it wasn't even in the book. Searched my computer and voila! Last time I opened that file? 2009!!!

I printed it out, added it to the book and promised to make again soon.

Today we're back to putting Christmas away, but DH's back is bothering him so we'll cut it short. Some new business tasks sprang up late yesterday afternoon so when we stop with the decorations I'll shift to those.

Hope everyone has a great day!
