I'm finding it really tiring trying to get everything back in order. It's puzzling me because I'm a fast go-getter.. something needs doing, I do it.. and I don't stop until it's done...but this is just overwhelming me a little bit , trying to find places..where things fit, and too many places despite there being many cupboards and shelves that most things are too big to go in.. .. ..so things are being done much slower than I would like.. and the longer it takes the less I want to do it...

At the same time, trying to work out how to use the new washing machine..of course it's all digital.. whereas for the last 15 years my machine has been turn the dial to where you want it, set the temp and then it does it for you... but this machine has so much more going on, and I did a whole load of washing and discovered it hadn't heated the water so everything was washed in cold water and the soap pods were still in one piece.. so nothing was really clean.

Couldn't find the manual anywhere so I rang LG, the manufacturers, and they emailed me a copy of the manual but it's still clear as mud to me...

Also , back in the kitchen my new cooker..is electric, I wanted electric after all my life of having gas because electric is cleaner, the stove is more easily kept clean etc..

Tonight I cooked my dinner on the new stove..My God it takes forever... I could have cooked 3 meals on a gas stove in the time the new one cooked bacon and eggs.. seriously...

So it's all shiny and new, but it's going to take me quite a time to get used to it...

Per above, KP blood test results already came back that shows all is about the same although a few over the last 3 years have been consistently just out of normal range though not changing, that my excellent hematologist says is fine.

well..that's very good news.. I think you had all of us more than a little concerned for a little while....

What's the prognosis?

I'd only consider going to Europe or NZ again, or traveling to AU or Asia, if I could take a trans-ocean cruise ship there and back. Having done a 14 night transatlantic from Spain to Galveston, I know it's an extremely relaxing way to travel! Heaven...

I would love to take a trans-Atlantic cruise, ideally a New York–Southampton trip on Cunard's Queen Mary 2.

@HoneyNut, check out a stopover in LA for a couple of days. Air New Zealand had wonderful service. They have some modified seats for economy fares. We had upgraded so it was nice being pampered. It wasn’t flat out, just being able to stretch out. It was still exhausting.

Once we were there we flew to Australia. It was unexpectedly a rather long flight. 4 plus hours as I recall. Then there were the flights within Australia. I loved it there.

We met of folks who flew much farther than we did to see family. I’d be really disappointed if my grandkids ever decided to move there. Lots of Canadian do and vice versa.

First I got this note regarding Sunday's ski outing-

“Conditions are primarily good - with the caveat that riders should be comfortable in variable snow conditions such as corn, packed powder, wind board, sections of ice and various low-tide obstacles on some of our lower elevation exit trails. We will encounter these conditions throughout the day, mostly on the entrances and exits to some of our zones. Essentially, we will not be skiing top to bottom waist-deep blower pow, but we are getting some really fun backcountry turns! low-tide obstacles meaning downed branches, and trees, boulders, rocks, bushes, etc. Also we would have very short runs meaning lots of taking skis off and on, loading/unloading them on the vehicle, getting in and out w ski boots on, and a good chance of damaging skis or injury.

Then a couple hours later got the word that the tracked vehicle was broken so we can reschedule.

@againstthegrain, as I was looking at the weather map of the heavy snow hitting so much of the US, it made me think of the Sun Valley. Our ski hills around here are desperate for snow too. Truthfully, I don’t miss it but would like to the skiers and the economy to be happy.
