How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

Good morning to everyone. It is 71 degrees now but the wind is blowing. There is a red flag alert for the area, so we have to be prepared incase of a fire starting. Our weather is getting more scary than the hurricane season at the moment.

I have been doing chores this morning and now I might get to relax before fixing lunch.

I hope all of you are doing well and enjoy your day.
You Floridians and your warm air.........I'm freezing. :)

A nice day here today. We started of by meeting up with the Grandkids and their Mum & Dad at a farm that has animals to interact with. Likkle Grandson held "Ketchup" his favourite snake, and Likkle Grandaughter had a stroke of it. Next was guinee pig and goat feeding, followed by bottle feeding the Spring lambs. We finished with a play in the Hay Barn with bales to climb on and an indoor zip wire.

On the way home back down the see front I noticed the tide was quite high and the Sun was out, so I dropped Mrs Oy off at home and went back with the big camera and lens for a spot of Sea budgie bothering. Got some nice shots!

After a rowdy Saturday, then just 5 hours sleep, attended 7am mass this Sunday morning 2/22/2026. Quiet recovery day, will be watching the Winter Olympics closing ceremonies later today. Just began mic'ing a can of Progresso Tomato Basil soup for an early lunch. Expect to attend a GD jam band tomorrow Monday evening. Then after 2 days of a warm storm midweek, expect to drive to Nevada and ski 2 or 3 days.

an update from my morning post
After coming back from brunch, took a 15 min nap. I decided to take an afternoon walk for about 10 min, the dusting of snow we got this morning had melted. I walked up the street past a couple of houses, turned around and came back, sidewalks were wet with no snow/ice. The temp was 34 with a slight breeze, great to be out getting exercise with fresh air

Today is another beautiful day. I had to get out of the house, but the family is too busy. So, I have just my reliable pups who never fail to follow me. The ocean is one hour’s drive away, and the same driving up the mountains but I don’t have longer snow chains. Well, I just drove to the nearby Lake Perris State Recreation Area to stretch my legs.

This lake is the end of the 445 mile California Aqueduct. At the starting point, the water has travelled already 150 miles coming down the mountains. Imagine, the water in this lake has travelled some 600 miles. No wonder that my monthly water bill is about $100, but that is still less than for gas and electricity.

Southern California is a water stricken desert and relies on imported water from Northern California, the Owens Valley (the East side of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range,) the Colorado River about 200 miles away, and some desalinated ocean water. Earthquakes can easily damage the water aqueducts, and therefore, SoCal has several lakes to store imported water in case of a disaster.

When our kids lived still at home, we came here often for boating, camping, and bicycling around the lake. The last picture shows the small Lake Perris Museum. BTW, at home, my 17 m/o puppy constantly jumps into the water; but at the big lake, he was afraid of getting his paws wet. It was the first time in his life that he saw that much water.

Every February, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park near Escondido <sdzsafaripark.org> offers free admission for seniors. I would like to go, but my wife has seen it three times and is not interested seeing it again.

Today, over 30 SoCal museums (mostly public ones) are offering free entrance. I was tempted to go, but again, not just by myself.

Good morning Peeps of SF.... 🙋‍♀️

It's a lovely dry day , no wind, and almost sunshine... wwhich is great news because I'm just having a cuppa tea, and then I'm going out to do a few things.. noneless than having my nails done...

I'm a bit irritated because I ordered something from Amazon which stated it wouldn't arrive until Thursday... so I made arrangements to get these things done today and out of the house.. now I get notification that it's coming during the time I'll be out... and out of all my delivery people, Amazon are the only ones who just dump on the doorstep in full view of the road... instead of placing it where I instruct them to..

In the meatnime I got call from my Gardener this morning who was panicked because after I sent him that text the other day... he thought I'd cancelled him for good....I deliberately sent it curtly so he would think that, and buck hs ideas up, and come when he says he's coming...

Have the best start to the week you can Folks... 🌺🌺

I'm up and ready for a cuppa. I slept well, and my knee feels better this morning. Apparently it likes the rest. I'll be out running errands with my Mom, so my knee won't be getting much rest today. 😅. At least it does seem to be getting better, slowly.

It's very cold and windy today, I'm not looking forward to running around in town. Tomorrow starts another warm up. 1771852964966.png

I hope you everyone has a good day.....stay warm! 1771853020986.gif

Good morning, everyone. It is cold this morning 40 degrees and only in the 50's today. It will freeze tonight at 29 degrees. What is happening to the Florida weather?

I had a delivery from Walmart this morning. Their tracking device wasn't working right but the man did deliver everything I ordered. Somehow I misread their sale prices and only got one of the items instead of two.

@hollydolly Amazon did the same with me with an early delivery I was not expecting until today and it came Saturday. It was outside my door, too. I complain to Amazon but they still do things wrong, mostly due to the drivers, not all of them.

Stay warm in the cold cold states and stay safe. Everyone enjoy your day, like others say, the best you can. :)

Had a lot of sleep last night. Scarfed down the Double Breakfast I requested. Getting double portions as am losing weight. Hooked up to third IV. This latest one is for dehydration.

Can’t go home until IVs taken out. Also they won’t let me leave without home care in place. An aide. A wound nurse. Physical therapist. Meals on wheels.

Feeling more alert with more food and hydration.

I've been doing my thing - training, skiing, and taking care of the business of life. Notable activity this past Thursday me and my wife attended a seminar on wolf communications by Jeff Reed, a researcher - an audiologist by training. It was pretty fascinating for YS/wolf fans such as ourselves. A lot of the research on wolves takes place in YS for obvious reasons so it was directly applicable to the wolves we hope to see on all our trips. Being Ketchum we ran into friends we haven't seen in a while so it was a fun evening.

We were so inspired the next day we booked a 3 day field seminar in YS to learn more and observe first hand from one of Reed's research disciples. It's the 2nd week in July so the park will be packed and likely hot, but sometimes one needs to get out of their comfort zone. We stay in non-electrified cabins right in the heart of Lamar Valley(Lamar Ranger Station) and share cooking/bathing facilities w a maximum of 10 others. That's the 3rd YS trip for next season, and hoping for 1 more visit in October.

Yesterday my daughter, boyfriend and me went over to Soldier Mountain Ski Area and took a guided backcountry ski trip which was a Christmas present to all. We had a beautiful, sunny day. This trip was postponed from January because the vehicle broke down. There was very little snow at that time so postponement was a huge blessing as one can see from the pictures. Later my wife drove over with their dog, to bring me home, and have food after skiing.

Hi folks... it's 4pm..... I'm back from the wilderness....actually not the wilderness the opposite ..2 not so busy town centres....

I was surprised when I pulled into the car park, because it's always packed and usually we have to wait for a space... but there was hardly any cars in there.. couldn't believe my eyes.. the last time I saw that was during Covid lockdown.. ..it's car park that holds about 200 cars... not huge but it's right in the centre of town...

Transpires the kids didn't go back today after their 10 day 1/2 term break, apparently it wasn't enough for the teachers, and they booked an ''inset day''.. so it just goes to show, how the schools affect the traffic so much
Anyway I wasn't complaining because the roads were much quieter than normal...

Got my nails done.. while I was out..... IMG_992123.jpg... and several other tasks.. and just got back in time before the rain started..
Fortunately Amazon has been yet... so that's good news... just checked and he's now 4 stops away (y)

Physio phoned this afternoon to say that they had a cancellation, and I could get an appointment for tomorrow morning.
Things are improving slightly, but I'm waking up aching and it takes a while to get going. I'll give the physio a try anyway. I've got tickets for HMS Pinafore in a couple of weeks, and the theatre has a lot of steps. Then it's off to Salford to help daughter with some DIY to her house.

Good morning, SF peeps! Had a great day yesterday with the littles. At one point while DH supervised their play, a jar I was taking out of the kitchen fridge was kinda sticky on the bottom. So I looked closer and it appeared something or other had leaked (never did figure out what).

Well, you're no doubt familiar with how that goes. I took everything off the shelf, washed the shelf and anything that was sticky. When getting ready to put everything back, I thought about rearranging how things were in that fridge.

Ended up spending the better part of an hour bouncing around the rabbit hole of wiping down all the shelves, ditching some things that we'll never use but were nevertheless taking up space there, combining half jars of pickles, and so forth.
After all that, I sat on the floor with the littles and played with magnet tiles with them while watching the movie, Cars. ❤️

Beautiful weather here today. 81° for a high with a breeze. Sorry for the folks dealing with snow. Been there, done that, and am especially grateful to live where I do.

After a decent rainfall, nature becomes exuberant in displaying carpets of flowers as I witnessed on my hike this morning.
There is even talk about a coming California Poppy super bloom when hillsides will be painted in yellow.

Does my puppy smell the wonderful scent of flowers, or is it just curiosity? That reminds me of passing the Independence Pass in
Colorado at over 12,000 feet in June, still partially snow covered, when we admired an amazing and incredible display of flowers.
And of course, there are the Butchart Gardens on Victoria Island near Vancouver. Camping on that islands made me nervous
because it has the high concentration of Mountain Lions, aka Cougars or Pumas, but we never saw one.

looks like they could be related???...long lost cousin? ☺️
yes we said this..lol.... same colouring except Albie is much bigger.. and no they're not related at all

DD says Lenny was a little bit shy with this big dog for the first little while and he kept peeking around the corner to see if it was safe to come out, but the bigger dog was very careful, and gentle with Lenny... 🥰
