How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

Good morning to everyone. It is foggy this morning but will clear up and be 83 this afternoon.

We are cleaning the house and getting rid of some clutter for our friends visit this Saturday. We tend to not want them to see our house with the clutter and want it to be nice and clean.

We are elderly now, so it takes more time to do the chores around the house. I used to do it fast when younger.

I hope all of you enjoy your day and all are well.

Was this worse after walking in those uncomfortable shoes? It may have knocked things out of whack.
well it was, and @StarSong mentioned this already... it's possible that the painful feet made things worse with the hip, I really don't know... but I'll find out tomorrow when i go out again, and I wear my normal boots which don't hurt my feet...

It's almost 3pm now, the sun has finally come out... I've just portioned up all the food that I bought at Costco yesterday...

I'm always amazed at the great value of the chicken. I got 24 chicken legs good fat ones as well.. for £5.75.... and portioned up into 2 per bag... that's essentially 12 meals.. or even more if I use the chicken in a pie or in soup....

Incredible value really... and with the mince beef and veggies that I cooked and froze a few days ago..if I was broke.. the chicken and minced beef would feed me for about 3 weeks.... for just about £10..00... it just shows how it can be done on a very low budget if necessary

Today was move the spa to the other end of the lania. Then, paint the floor where the spa was and finally give the lania inside walls their second coat of paint. But first, had to bleach wash all the screens and walls to remove the mold. While I was at it, I bleach washed the shed so it's nowpale yellow again, not green. :)

A screened in area attached to your house. (y) In our case, it's under the house roof. Some have a separate roof.
here it's called a Conservatory..... (y)

Holly,, like the blue addition.
Would work well with our back porch,,,,,,,,,IF I could 'talk' Hubby into doing that.
This Winter while in the kitchen,, thinking ,,,"Why didn't we put an add on to the kitchen?

Hubby had his hearing check today.
Was told he should get hearing aids.
They price that was mentioned was $3000!

He doesn't want any,, I can live with that.
Looked at me when told the price.
Told him they are your ears,, ,,,,,,.

Back home & I couldn't find the cards with our next Doctor dates . o_O 🙃

Conservatories are hugely popular in the UK.... it gives that extra space and light to a kitchen..or extend the livingroom .. and fabulously sunny and warm to sit out in there during winter ...

Is $3000 an average kind of price for hearing aids in the US ?..I think I've read other people here say t=similar..

is your husbands' hearing not too bad currently ?

I was born into am profoundly deaf extended family.. half of whom were mute as well, so I grew up using sign language to communicate with them

My father was born totally deaf in his left ear, ( he was the first man in Scotland to receive a plastic eardrum) as was my sister, but they never sought out hearing aids... even now my sister who is 68 next week still doesn't feel the need for a hearing aid, depsite thr frustration of other peope having to repeat things to her sevral times before she hears them

Rather busy this last week so posting little. Today, Wednesday was productive. Laundry done. Had a local tire service plug a tire tread slow leak for free. Completed editing several GoPro-11 MP4 videos from my skiing 9 days ago. Completed organizing my below road trip files. Will start post processing on focus stack blending images from yesterday.

Yesterday, Tuesday, my Kaiser Permenente primary care doctor gave me an annual physical that was fine except for some possible slight neuropathy in both feet possibly caused by my polycythemia vera medication. Then drove 60 miles south for some modest wildflower photography over 4 hours. Noticed right rear tire was slowly losing tire pressure.

Monday worked on GoPro-11 MP4 videos with the shotcut app. Used incorrect codec types for minimal output file sizes so will need to repeat part of that effort. And Monday night enjoyed 4 hours of another Dead jam band.

Sunday worked on detailed plans for an upcoming major Carrizo Plain National Monument road trip that produced 44 files and went to a late mass.

Saturday, early much computer then from 1pm spent 8 hours at a venue with a long list of bands playing.

Thursday/Friday was skiing, then drove home 230 miles. Some bedbugs at the Motel 6 bit me in the throat.

My grandson showed me three eggs he had found in the chicken coop. Sorry, two are fake ones to encourage the
chickens to lay more eggs. He was disappointed and almost started crying.

With her drone, my older daughter made a video of my "wild" grandson. They even played "hide and seek" with him
hiding and the drone trying to find him. (The right picture was taken with the drone and copied from the iPhone video.)

My grandson created a garden in a box.

On my way to the Kaiser Medical Center...........A cozy picnic or resting area with benches on the second floor of the Center.

@Sliverfox Costco has the best prices for hearing aids. I bought there a pair of good rechargeable ones for about $1,500. For mild hearing loss, you can buy a pair online for $100 (search "buy online hearing aids.") For greater hearing loss, you need prescription hearing aids for maybe $1K to several thousand, for those with all the bells and whistles.

@Capt Lightning I have no idea what's the cause of your knee problem. Only a physician can tell you. But when I developed problems with my knee and my PCP told me I'll soon need a knee replacement, then I started taking Glucosamine/Chondroitin and the problem eventually disappeared without a knee replacement. It's just a thought for you.

When I retired, I obtained medical coverage with Medicare. But my younger wife’s employer continued to pay for my Kaiser membership. So, I went shopping with Medicare at several medical health providers to find out what else exists besides Kaiser. It was an expensive luxury. Although I had a few better experiences with non-Kaiser facilities, all over Kaiser provided the best service. I have been now with Kaiser <kp.org> continuously for over 55 years.

It's just after 10.30am.. I'm washed dressed, and having a cuppa tea, after taking delivery of 2 parcels from the postman...

I want to go out shortly, and take some things to the recycle centre.....it's a glorious Sunny morning....🌞🌞🌞 ....so I'm going to have this cuppa tea, and get myself moving..... hopefully get some Spring photos while I'm out....

Have the best Thursday you can folks.... 🌼🌷

Work continues today (Day 4) on the eave/roof project. A winter storm warning will be in effect starting at 6:00 pm this evening through 6:00 pm tomorrow evening with rain and snow. Certain custom materials will be delivered tomorrow morning so that part of the roof will have to be covered with a tarp or something. The ice and water shield is on, though. Technically, we shouldn't have to cover it with anything else but I will err on the side of caution and have it covered anyway. That stuff is pricey.

It's supposed to be 80° today. I'm going to start getting out early before breakfast and work on things a little at a time.
In fact, this next week will be summer.
Some years we have a nice long spring period. Some years it's winter to summer.
Weeds! So many weeds.....😯
I picked a cabbage yesterday and cooked it with some carrots. I don't know what I'm going to do with the garden. DH just put in the new raised beds.
I won't do like him and start plants by seed. I'll have to go to the nursery and get established plants.
The basics. Tomatoes, peppers, lettuce.
One bed is filled with garlic plants.

Ongoing problems with my right knee, but I've got a schedule for high-tech treatment after Easter. Needless to say, I'm having to have it done privately, or else I would be waiting months just for an assessment, and then a further wait before treatment started.

Wait times vary by region, but could be maybe 20 weeks to see a specialist, and another 20 before treatment started.

Supposedly, I'm riding out sever storms....heavy rain, hail, tornadoes, etc. But, except for the rain, most of it has missed us. I'm happy about that. As of March 4th, we've had over 3 inches of rain, so it can stop at any time, now! LOL

I'm not sure what I'm doing today. If it's raining (or roads are wet), I'll stay home. If things dry up, I'll head into town. Right now, it's too soon to tell.

Good morning to everyone. It is sunny and will be 84 this afternoon. We might have a little rain today but need more.

I an dusting and cleaning the floors. I bought a new rug for the master bathroom under the sink and it looks good and is not moving around like the old one.

I hope all of you are staying well and enjoy your day.

In fall/winter I put down mats at the front door and garage entrance. Since it was so dry this winter, I really didn’t need them. Yesterday I was going to remove them. Glad I didn’t. It started raining. No complaints on that. We need the moisture.
