Why on earth would she want to live in such a backward country? To willingly live where a woman has less rights? Why?Thinking of problems at airports, our neighbour’s niece is a teacher in Kuwait. She can’t get out and can’t rent a car because she’s a woman. She wants out.
Oh, boy; I hope she's able to get out.Thinking of problems at airports, our neighbour’s niece is a teacher in Kuwait. She can’t get out and can’t rent a car because she’s a woman. She wants out.
I don’t know her story. She’s a teacher. A lot of teachers and nurses go to these countries to help and enlighten the women. Many also make very good wages. Why on earth would she want to live in such a backward country? To willingly live where a woman has less rights? Why?
Enlighten the women at the risk of……..I don’t know her story. She’s a teacher. A lot of teachers and nurses go to these countries to help and enlighten the women. Many also make very good wages.
Yuk. Doesn't give a good impression of the south, does it?Yes. When we lived in Virginia we saw more than one bumper sticker that read "Happiness is a Yankee Heading North." As a Yankee, that kinda stuck in my craw.
I think that's very brave. I definitely could not do it.I don’t know her story. She’s a teacher. A lot of teachers and nurses go to these countries to help and enlighten the women.
I meant to add, the dealership always has a driver on hand to drive customers home, and then pick them back up, so they aren't stuck there, waiting, but to me it's a good excuse to read, and their waiting area is quite nice. So I always just stay.I think that's very brave. I definitely could not do it.
I got caught up on my sleep and am ready to tackle the day—after I get coffee first, ha ha. I have an enormous amount of work to catch up on. Not only did I fall behind this week, but I also have a long car repair appointment Monday afternoon, and I hope to leave on Tuesday midday or early afternoon to see the grandbabies. In addition, I need to get work done ahead of time to make up for the time I'll be gone. It's either that or drag the PC (no laptop yet—soon, I hope) with me, and . . . no. I really do not want to do that.
I hope everyone's day is going well.![]()
It always made sense to me because the context provided the meaning. When I read these two sentences, I thought, "So don't we all".
Does that make sense to you or anyone? It's a normal way of speaking in Massachusetts, at least in the Boston area. It means the exact same thing as "so do we all".
If you know how to make it make sense, please enlighten me. Meanwhile, it's a manner of speaking that seems to be permanently in my head. Probably because I think it is delightful.
see that's what I need. My new car is due for it's Servce and MOT but the problem is the garage where it needs to be done to be able to hold onto the service Guarantee .. is nowhere near anything where I could go and kill time for 4 hours..... and there's definitely no-one would be able to take me home. I can't get Public transport because it's the next county..so I'm still trying to figure out what to doI meant to add, the dealership always has a driver on hand to drive customers home, and then pick them back up, so they aren't stuck there, waiting, but to me it's a good excuse to read, and their waiting area is quite nice. Do you always put your plants in to the tubs first for growth, before planting in the ground? Do you feel it works better that way? I've done that with an azalea in a pot now...so I'm keeping an eye on it. Not sure what I'm going to do.I've just come in now at 3pm... the sun is warm out there however now it's starting to go from the back over the house to the front..
I've been replacing the old flowered solar lights with new.... and disposing of my tall rattan planter which sat by the back door with spring flowers in, but it's been there now about years and the rattan is coming apart now, so time for it to go...
I also planted some new little Japanese /Taiwanese Photinia into tubs, before putting them into the ground at a later date..![]()

They'll go along side my well established 10 foot shrub...
Had to stop now because my ferkin' hip is killin' me....
Not always but more often than not.... I like to give them a bit of sun and acclimatise to the area where they will ulimately be planted before I do plant them...Do you always put your plants in to the tubs first for growth, before planting in the ground? You can see from this photo from some years ago, I've been doing it for a long time
