Yesterday I visited a friend, and she gave me several black blouses and black pants to support me in my desire to be in mourning until the war against Iran stops. I am joining the Women in Black. I am going into my second week of wearing black and think this will be easier if I reorganize my walk-in closet

Who are Women in Black?
Women in Black is a world-wide network of women committed to peace with justice and actively opposed to injustice, war, militarism and other forms of violence. As women experiencing these things in different ways in different regions of the world, we support each other’s movements. An important focus is challenging the militarist policies of our own governments. We are not an organisation, but a means of communicating and a formula for action.

I also combine certain errands based on their locations along wit a nod to outdoor temps and whether I'm buying perishables. 95% of my errands (including medical and dental appointments) are under 10 miles from home.
yep...mine are a little further.. usually a 30 mile or 40 mile round trip.... altho' our little maket town is very close.... they only have the bare necessities there, and as many coffee bars and restaurants you can think of.... ..... so I need go to larger town further away

Back from downtown SJ with the weather sprinkling or more most of the time. By time I drove home and hour ago, the first glob on the below cold core low storm was finally washing the Carrizo Plain dusts off my car. Tomorrow hopefully will have some fun driving through familiar local residential storm puddles in order to wash some of it off underneath.

(This was supposed to post Saturday but probably didn't select the Save button?)

Busy Monday morning. Last night my cheap year or two old Hamilton Beach microwave oven per above, finally rusted through its bottom that then is a fire hazard. The second straight cheap oven that has rusted so from Walmart in less than a couple years. Began rusting within a couple months new. I sand papered off the rust but did not reapply special paint because I read it would likely still continue to rust all over as it indeed did, as these products are purposely designed so due to usual corporate bean counters that for market share reason force their design teams to create such low end appliances that just have to survive their warranty periods.

In this era, they also cut corners in mid level models as though such is ok. So just spending a bit more is no guaranty.

So just bought for $80 from Home Depot an on sale $100 Vissani product.

After rising today given a low breeze forecast I need for focus stacking images, drove 3 miles to our San Jose Municipal Rose Garden where the rose bloom this year for whatever reason, is 3 week earlier than normal. With patience, managed to work about a half dozen subjects before the breeze became unmanageable. Will be going back on any upcoming calmer mornings. I much enjoy hunting for aesthetic roses in that large city garden.

Then added $40 of gas at $5.49/gallon cash. Drove to Walmart NM for $43 worth of groceries. After unloading that bought the microwave oven that is a 1.1 cu/ft 1000 watt model with an 11 inch glass plate. Home Depot is just 3 blocks from my residence. Back home, tested the oven heating a bit of water but after completing, the door would not open? So opened the manual and found it has a child proof safety lock function. Unfortunately going through a couple unlock processes still didn't unlock the door?

The power cord connected into an outlet behind my refrigerator that was a pain to get at so pulled that out and was able to open the door. Then programmed the lock function to be permanently disabled and seems ok. Mic's some vegetable soup for lunch just fine.

What was the phone doing that indicated a virus?

Afternoon peeps of SF... on another glorious sunny day.,.... 🌞

there's quite a wind howling through the open windows, despite the sun.... but a lovely day nonetheless 🌞

I've been weeding the back lawn and it's a sun trap out there so it's feels very hot..... . I've lost my edging trimmer somewhere. It's in the barn but I'm blowed if I can find it...

2 new sets of cooking tongs arrived this morning, alng with a new sleeveless summer vest top..

I no longer wear sleeveless tops when i go out... but they're great for at home and in the hot garden

Have a super Tuesday the best you can.... 🌺

Today I will be meeting my new 🆕 aide. Also having a visit from the nurse Tatiana.
How did that go, @Pepper?

I am facing a very busy day of work today. I was invited to go to a matinee movie with some friends later, but unfortunately I am not going to be able to swing it. Darn.

The eye appointment yesterday went well, and my prescription didn't even change, so that was a relief! Plus, they handed me my prescription, so I can take it to a less expensive place to get new sunglasses. Mine are more than 12 years old and starting to fall apart.

I'm anxious about the exam cost because I had planned to pay out of pocket, and last week I was told it would be an approximate flat fee of $160, but I paid a $100 copay and they billed my insurance, so I'm confused. I saw an optometrist, not an ophthalmologist. I just sent a question through the patient portal. I hope I don't end up getting slammed with a big bill.

Nothing exciting going on in my part of the world today; I hope everyone is doing well! 🌻

Good morning to everyone. It will be 84 today. We need rain and maybe in the next week. There are fires all around our area due to drought. It is so unusual for our area to not have rain.

I finally have some packages arriving by the post office. They are late but it says they will be delivered. One package still lost.

Stay well everyone and enjoy your day.

I'm slowly getting used to the latest war, transitioning from away from skiing on to motorcycling and camping. This season there were only a few great skiing days out of the 52 days I skied, but they were highlights because of being w family and friends, not that skiing was all that great. Also got a chance to work on my technique, and I think I made a bit of an improvement. Only 2 powder days which is really lacking. Of course I'm still working out.

Last weekend was a track day outside of SLC so made the trip down there and had a good time. We ride the motorcycles around the track w no speed limits, no turning traffic and most of all no chance of getting a speeding ticket!!!
