How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

Happy Friday, all. I managed all my errands during the week and my house is sparkly clean, so it should be an easy-breezy day. A nice day ahead weather-wise.

Might get a jump on sketching out my business ordering, but I'm delaying placing most of orders until May 10th because I don't want to be wrangling 50 or more big, heavy cartons by myself.

DH is getting a lumbar epidural (lower back) back today and will have to drastic limit any lifting activity for a couple of weeks while it takes full effect.

Hope all can make today a good one!
I've had that several times in my lower back... they stopped doing it after a while because the effects lasted for shorter and shorter time...

Today has been just a glorous hot sunny day...it's like the middle of summer instead of April. It's still sunny and warm now at racing towards 6pm

I met up with my best friend for tea at this riverside place which is a favourite of ours... after I'd been to the waste & recycle site, and dropped off some metal things...

Then we drove to the next large town, and had our cars washed and valeted... and while they were being done we went shopping.

I bought an artifical triple ball tree similar to this...

... and a large Clay pot..... I got 2 new Table lamps as well... to replace ones I've had for many years.....altho' the old ones are still in very good condition, I just want to replace them to match in with new decor...
From there I left, and went and got some groceries from the frozen food warehouse.... and on the way home I stopped off at KFC and had 2 chicken drumsticks and Ice cold coke...... delicious !

All of this took in 4 seperate towns and long drives between each... and my hip was fine.... bearing in mind I drive a manual car

He's going to be busy ,, Monday he has dental appointment,Tuesday, Scans to for the radiation .
Wednesday eye appointment.

Have to Google where eye doctor is located.

Had stopped at Amish store on way back.
Mentioned to the Amish lady that we would stop in more often due to appointments.

She said ,, which can be taken 2 ways. "Good health is wealth."

Hope everyone has a nice weekend .

That's been his experience, too. This go-round his pain management doc used a fresh MRI as guidance.

He injects a combination of kenalog (steriod) and contrast into DH's back while DH lies on a special table that projects images of the contrast onto the screen in real time. That way the doc can make sure the steroids are reaching the intended targets.

Eventually, DH will probably need another back surgery (he had one in 1989), but he can avoid it for as long as the kenalog is effective.

The lidocaine hasn't yet worn off in the injection site so he's still feeling pretty good. He did say he'll be feeling pain from the injection later today through the next several days.

Was your hip injection experience similar?

yes it was not only a table projecting contrast....

I've had these injections in my back the most, followed by my knees and new my hip.. and your husband is correct, it takes some time for the lidocaine to wear off, and during that time, if you don't know better you think you've hit the instant pain eraser.. because it's all numbed and you're feeling no pain...until 24 hours later... and if sometimes feels like much WORSE pain than prior to the injection.. but that eventually wears off over a week or 2 week.. giving hopefully a good few months of relief ...

I am usually a very fast talker, typical of NY/NJ residents. When I moved to the Midwest, most people there speak slower & I initially would sometimes finish their sentences. That was wrong, so I stopped. But sometimes it became agonizing waiting for them to complete their thoughts. It's a relaxing lifestyle there, and over time I adjusted accordingly. 😀😃

same same... West coast Scots are fast talkers, just like their Irish ancestors... and so I was the same when I came down to the slow talking south.... no-one could understand what I was saying, and the constant cry from people was ''if you slow down I might understand you''

You know that situation where you park in a huge almost empty car park and you come back to the car and some Knob has parked right next to you ?... well I had that happen today !

The retial car park was comapritively emoty...I knew I'd need plenty space to be able to get bulky items into my car.. I have a tiny boot so they have to go into the back seat...

I aprked well away from the stre where most people park right outside... and when I came out , there was one car parked right up against me... we were surrounded by empty saces, yet he chose to park right next to me.

Fortunately he;d just got out of his car as I came out of the store.. carrying these big items.. so I saw him, and I asked him why he felt it necessary to park right up against me when there was loads of other spaces just feet away... .. he got irritated and said he can park where he likes, but I explained that I;d deliberately parked far away because I needed the space.. and so eventually he moved his car into the space behind... but really hy do people do that ?
