I took a load of small electronic and computer parts to the recycle place yesterday. Also, a huge and heavy box of cords, wires, and power supplies. Things I did not want to go in the landfill.
We're lucky we have an electronics section at our recycle center. I knew they took computers and TVs etc. so I asked before I brought four boxes plus the cords.

I've been feeding that bin with old printers, faxes, and monitors for months. My son inspects everything first to make sure none of it is valuable. I hope it all goes to some use. Probably a good portion will end up in the trash but this is the world now.
Unbelievable how much stuff was in the bin! Disposable World!

After that I loaded up several boxes of items to donate to the thrift store and got rid of those.

A big relief to have those gone from the middle of my living room!

Afternoon peeps of SF...it's a gorious very hot day here 🌞 🌞 🌞

I've been in the garden cutting the hedges back but it's waaaayyy too hot out there so I've come in to cool down. Still got much to do, but for now, I'm sitting in front of the fan....

last night I had dreadful nightmares with regard my friend who died... just awful.... :(... he has a big and very close family they will be devastated, he was the eldest.. and the one they looked to, to guide them as a family unit ... and he had 2 daughters as well
It's funny I half expected his death to be reported as a news item when i woke up this morning... it seemed like it should have,,,

Anyway...life is for those of us still living.. so onward we go....

have the best day you can folks.... 🌺🌺

Morning all, yesterday afternoon around 4 was doing a crossword puzzle and lost track of time. When I looked at the clock it was 5:20'Oh, God I'm late for dinner with the guys'. When I got off the elevator in lobby, one of the guys, Dale was about to get on elevator to come find me. I apologized to him,and to the other guys. This had never happen before, I'm usually the 1st one at the table
My usual early walk at 6:45, temp was 45 a tad nippy with a slight breeze as I walked around the building before breakfast. My plans today, weekly Fri exercise class at 10-10:45. I've invited a church friend, Callie for lunch at 12:15,last time she was here was in Feb. I also have invited close friends, Marcia&Dave as well.
The rest of my day read today's NYT,may go for afternoon walk, see what today's dinner menu is offering
Everybody have a good day

that's comforting to you tho' Sue.. that within minutes they were coming to check on you, because you're normally so punctual...(y)

I've had enough now,..it's far too hot to be mowing. I've got one lawn done, and all the hedges .. and some hedges in the back and half the lawn. The battery in the lawnmower cut it out, so I think it was telling me to be sensible and go in... the humidity is horrible..my sunglasses kept slipping off my face 🥵🥵
🥵
I've put the battery on charge... and I may do more later when it's cooler ...For now I'm sitting in front of the fan, and with a drink, and I'll get in a cool shower in a minute

Must have been a good Crossword!

Good morning to everyone. Another hot day here but it did rain some yesterday afternoon. Our lawnmower man came over and mowed our lawn which hasn't grown very long except for some areas. It will take a lot more rain to look nice again. We cannot take advantage of watering due to the restrictions.

@hollydolly that is so sad about your friend dying. Lots of love to you.❤️

Have a good day, everyone.:)

Lovely Tai Chi Session in the park this morning. Warmed them up with the Shibashi set then onto the Cheng Man Ching 37 form. After a few goes through we identified a few sections to go into more detail on. 'Step back and repulse the Monkey' then 'Fair Lady weaves the shuttles.' We do have some lovely names for this stuff :)

Spent most of the afternoon playing with Likkle Grandaughter. She's such a little sweetheart

Well the sun has gone over the house to shine in the front as it does in the afternoons.... and altho' still hot out in the back, it's in the shade now, so I grabbed the mower and finished off the lawn... thank goodness !

@hollydolly, I'm so sorry to learn of your friend's sudden passing.
thanks Star... it's very strange that somehow I feel more affected by his passing than I did my ex husband 2 months ago. Not that I wasn't sad about DD's dad dying, but we were expecting it he had severe COPD and prostate cancer ..... whereas, even tho' it's over 25 years since me and my friend were in a relationship... I feel sadder at his death... not because I have any romantic feelings about him.. Zero... but I just think the circumstances of his death , just seem so unfair...😔

It just brings our own mortality into the forefront, when we realise any one of us who seem to be fit and healthy can have this happen to us....

Incidentally not that it matters but I said 4 years we were in a relationship in my initial post but it was actually 6..years

I think sudden deaths hit much harder because we're unprepared to think about a world without that person in it. I've found it jarring even in cases where I'm no longer in regular contact with that person.

The one comfort I've taken is that they and their loved ones didn't endure the agony of long, painful or sickly exits. S many suffered horribly. They know they're terminal and beg for death's release.

Good for you! I need to follow your lead.

I know only too well, for the last 5 years I watched my ex husband fighting for every breath...

Have a special day planned with 4 year old GS. A swell way to start the holiday weekend.
Our holiday weekend , and in fact week off for the children..starts next Friday ..the end of the month.. However the forecast for this weekend is to be hot and sunny...so I'm hoping that people will be keeping their money to go away next weekend and places might be quieter for me to visit this weekend... That's the theory anyway

Technology has not been kind to me this week! Today I'm having trouble getting my new Proton VPN to work on my desktop. Proton shuts down my internet connection even though it's connected to a U.S. IP address. I don't have that problem while using my mobile devices. This afternoon I started an email with comments and questions for when I interview HS#3 on tomorrow's broadcast and due to the connection drop, the draft wasn't saved, so I had to do it all over again!

Also, I need to post something on Facebook, but the website is not loading, even after uninstalling the Proton VPN and restarting the computer. Well, the good news is that I discovered my son snuck Haagen Daz rum raisin ice cream in the freezer for me yesterday evening.

Good afternoon all... 🌞 🌞 🌞

It's a hot sunny day as predicted... I have all the windows open to create a through draught but all the blinds closed ..not that there's much breeze..

The forecast is for the same all next week... so I've put off going anywhere today and leave it until then..

Instead later this afternoon, I'm going to start clearing one of the sheds...and get it all taken maybe tomorrow to the recycle centre,..

Have the best day you can folks... 🌺🌺
