@squatting dog, that photo is shocking. Can't believe you lived to tell the tale, but sure am glad you did. ❤️

A hospital doctor once asked me to rate my pain on a scale of 1-10, one being nothing and 10 being childbirth. Thought that was a very weird scale and said I'd been through far more painful ordeals and procedures than childbirth.

On his 1-10 scale, surely you would have been at a 25.

You better believe it. Even morphine couldn't dull thye pain. The worst thing, (also the best thing), was everyday after I got out of intensive care, they'd dunk me in saline and actually skin me alive. (to remove the dead skin). And, since they were checking for nerve damage, no pain medication until after. :(

An update from my morning post
Last week after coming back from weekly 'road trip' with friend Mary, she said'I'll call you next Weds to see if you need to go anyplace on Thurs' This morning around 9:15 I was doing the NYT's "Spelling Bee' online game{which I do every day}, phone rings. Mary said' I'm here in the parking lot waiting for you' I laughed and told her'You were going to call me today'.I won't repeat what she said, told her'you're here, lets go to Target the weather tomorrow doesn't look good' another enjoyable 'road trip' with her

Well, I've had a tad aggravating day, on the fone with "customer service", or
maybe it should be customer no service....it seems the alert alarm folks have
been billing me in error, county social service division sez it was supposed
to be "no charge" to me!!!!!!gaaaah, so now waiting to verify that they
will get if all fixed or I will drop the damn thing.....have a good evening all!!:confused::)

some people are very lucky with little pain during childbirth.. one of my sisters started labour and was holding the baby a big 10 pounder within 4 hours.. she said it was like shelling peas... OTOH...Childbirth for me the worst pain I've ever suffered..59 hours of agony ( Saturday afternoon until Tuesday 7 am) .. no gas and air because they'd ''run out''... this was a hospital... and 57 stitches.... so I understand what your doctor was saying...

Ooooh I could throw up...seriously.. you brave . brave man...

I've been out all day...an eclectic day.. but I decided as everyone seemed to be at all the coastal regions that i would go to a historic house and gardens.. because there would be hardly anyone there and I was right..

This is the house, it;s very famous in the UK.. it's huge landed gentry property..very old always being constantly worked on, and the bigest Rock concerts outside of stadiums are held in these grounds.. Massively well known bands, Rolling stones, The Who, Iron maiden Oasis, Deep Purple. Black Sabbath you name it.. they've played here...

It's used a lot by tv and film production foor location filming...

They also have drive in Movies as well... several times a year

It's just a short drive from where I live ...about 20 minutes or so...

I didn't pay to go into the house because I've seen it all before, so I just paid to see all the gardens, which have a Maze, and in the wooded area, a great big exhibition of prehistoric anmals, especially great for the children to see and learn, of which there was a few as I went round, who were very excited to see it all..

here's a link for you all to read if you're interested , before I post some pictures..

I didn't actually see everything in the grounds today... in truth last time I was there was about more than 10 years ago.. and it was with the O/h and we saw the whole house interior that time, but it was a very busy day there, hundreds of people so the o/h didn't want to walk around the gardens...so today I don't think all of the gardens ...they're really massive... so I'll go back once the kids are back at school

I was daydreaming about how much fun it used to be to exercise.
Like way back when my mom and I used to go jogging.

So I pulled out my Dynamic Runabout 7 bicycle, dusted it off and aired it up.
It's a 7 speed shaft drive bicycle. Yep lookit, shaft drive, no chain.
Kind of rare and fun to ride. Think I'll start riding a little every day.

After I left the stately home..I drove to Costco... and bought a big 2 kilos ( approx 4 pounds) bag of shrimp rice.. 2 kilos of Scottish strawberries..( fresh)... they're really sweet & big too.. I'm going to freeze them tomorrow... A tray of fresh Chicken thighs... 15..big ones for £5-50 ( Costco chicken is such great value )... which I'll portion and freeze tomorrow as well... and a a big tray of fresh pork sausages, which also wll be portioned and frozen tomorrow..

Also got a bargain... Sketchers slip=ons ( not slip-ins)... £14.99 a pair today in Costco.. and DKNY slip-ons.. for slightly less ...

Great value, I get them for wearing in the house rather than slippers. Much safer...

My last love ... I adopted Rex 8 months ago at the age of 12 months. Rex is most likely the last puppy I will ever adopt, and
I expect him to stay with me to celebrate my 100th birthday. Rex is the only pup in my life whom I permit to lick my face and to
bite my nose. I am sentimental about him. His life is my life, and his end will also be my end. Our lives are intertwined.

Left: Rex, when I adopted him at age of 12 months, was hugging me: Right: Rex is now 20 months old and is biting my nose.

Heidi is getting old, but Rex is growing into the role of being my protector.

Ross, second from the left, and Otto on the right are resting in our pet cemetery. Rex left and Heidi, second from the right, are now with me.

Do dogs have a sixth sense? All pups were inside the house when I buried Ross. Yet Heidi sensed where her buddy was, and several
times she dug through the soil till she found the body bag. It was pure instinct to find Ross and trying to be again with him.

PS, If Heidi dies while I am still able to go walking, then I probably would adopt another adult Boxer. Walking the streets in my 90ties,
I would feel more secure with a strong body guard on either side.

Today again it's BOILING... and the country has come to a halt... 34 degrees.. and people have been sent home from work... half of the southern counties have no water... trains have been cancelled all over the south because rails have buckled in the heat... and this is what it looks like this morning with people trying to get a train from Lodon to the most popualr Southern beach Bournemouth this morning...

Nice! Was the weather a bit cooler?

Again I was up to early, after 5a.m.
Taking my time breakfast & coffee.

Hubby is in lot of pain from the radiation treatments, wants to quit.

The round trip drive about 60 miles, mostly 2 lane roads, lots of hilly curves.
Traffic varies,cars,trucks,farm tractors,,road maintenance......
Hubby has been doing the driving,,I'm just the co-pilot.

I don't like to drive.
Will drive ,,,If have to,,,Just hope hubby doesn't criticizer my driving.🙃

Hope everyone has day.:)

I have just finished portioning all the food I bought yesterday and put it all in the freezers.. I've put the strawberries on a sheet pan to freeze before I portion and bag them, but the chicken and sausages are done now and all in the freezers...

I put 2 large thighs in each portion.. and 3 sausages in each portion which makes for 18 meals .. at a cost of just £10.00

The strawberries are huge..🍓🍓 so even one strawberry can be sliced up to make enough for one person if necessary.. and I will have those for breakfasts... looking at it, I reckon I can get about 12 portions.. with 3 strawberries in each..and they only cost £3.00..

.. and all fresh food.... not a chemical in sight...
