@jet is "chilly." Serves him right for going off without us!

It's raining again, as expected, so no playing in the dirt after work :(

Off to work with me. Let's hope that Sir understood my reference to "reasonable accommodation" yesterday and stuff is where I can get at it without climbing a ladder and that the "ice mountains" are gone from the freezer floor.

Took a long nap, so I guess it's tomorrow, but yesterday, I cut some weeds that were hitting my window. I sprayed some peppermint oil, hoping to repel some wasps.

Finished my financial tasks with the major part clearing the bank.

Even after the long nap, I'm exhausted but glad I got those things done.

After my morning coffee, I will be getting ready for a day out. My friend is taking me shopping. Not sure where else besides Walmart we will be going. Maybe Grand Union so I can buy some Zevia since Walmart does not sell it.

After I come back I want to go through my closet because there is going to be a city wide yard sale on May 16th & 17th and our apartment building is going to take part. Sounds like it will be fun. So I am going to find things to sell.

I'm working on quilts. I thought it was my idea to sew polar fleece to the back but apparently it's a thing. Some relative at some time made these quilt tops and never finished them. Somehow they ended up with me. They're actually pretty cute. I think my grand girls will like them.
BTW my new sewing machine is fab!

Oh yes Polar Fleece blankets have been en vogue for a long time now. I have 6 of them.... I'm sure yours will look fabulous tho'....

After an absolutely Gorgeous day yesterday in southern tier, NY, we expect rain for rest of the week.

That's OK because I try to never miss the Masters, and have already watched the pre game interviews on Channel 218 (Directv) with Jon Rahm, , Rory, Scheffler, a few more, and also the interview with Tiger Woods, my favorite golfer!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Augusta Chronicle said this:

(In part)
"The early reports from Tiger Woods’ Monday practice round at Augusta National Golf Club were good.

The five-time Masters Tournament champion landed in Augusta on Sunday afternoon and played a Monday morning practice round with Will Zalatoris. Woods withdrew from the 2023 Masters after making the cut, due to a plantar fasciitis flare up.

“He played great today,” Zalatoris said. “He outdrove me a couple times so there was some chirping going on. So, you know, he looks great. He's moving as well as he can be. Again, with everything he's gone through, it's pretty amazing to see how good he's swinging it.” "

Tiger Woods 'played great' during Monday practice round ahead of 2024 Masters Tournament

It is so refreshing also to see how beautiful the Augusta Golf Course is, when the weather here will be so dreary.
I will probably just eat some cheeseburgers with soup so I don't miss too much today-but there are many things I can do around here while the Master's is on TV. I also need to get out my "Golf for Dummies" book-

I learned how to golf in 1959 but then my husband's did not like to watch Golf (so I became a Football fan) and by the time they were deceased, I found that Golf had radically changed in many ways.

Today is pre game stuff because the Masters technically starts tomorrow through Sunday and I look forward to it every year.
But weather can control everything.

This is the Augusta weather report expected for this week:

Wishing you the best at the start of your quest. Once you reuce your fat intake after just 2 or 3 days your stomach will shrink a little and you won't feel as hungry as you do currently.. and it will take just a little less to fill you. Now , no-one on a diet wants to hear that if they feel hungry to eat a carrot stick.. instead of a cake or pie... but if you slice up an apple, and put it in a box in the fridge with some grapes or cherries whatever is your choice.. as soon as you want to reach for a snack outside of mealtimes, then just take a couple of pieces of fruit, and then immediately go do something else...

In the mornings if you usually have a carb laden breakfast... just have a banana... or even 2 if you have to..., so if you just cut out the chocolate, the pies, cakes and the cheese, and pasta, or whatever it is that's causing the weight gain and replace it with these things and veggies, .. those on their own will see you begin to lose weight in just a week ...

Good luck!!

good advice hols.going to the store this afternoon to get apples and bananas.i think if I always have those around and no sweets and other food that I don't need it might be easier.and beer! ugh! sure takes a lot of will power to feel good.thanks for the encouragement Holly.

yes pack in the beer, that's numero Uno... .. that's going to be hard but if you can't face drinking coffee or water... and you still need something then get a diet soda... not the greatest , but the gas fills you up... and it's no calories

@fatboy While you're at the store, see if you can find one of those little calorie-counter books that fit in your pocket so you can keep track of your calorie and fat intake. I still remember that a hard-boiled egg has 77 calories and 5 grams of fat. If you feel the need to eat between meals and need the "crunchy/chewy" effect, there are only 21 calories in a Rye-Krisp cracker. It's been more than 40 years... Do yourself a big favor and don't weigh every day! Once a week will be more encouraging.

I'm home. The ice mountains were still there. The breads I needed weren't there.

Yesterday the regional and district managers visited. We have "bins" for three kinds of loose rolls for customers to choose what they like. They were empty, something waaaay beyond my control, but guess who got thrown under the bus?:mad::mad: And it wasn't just for the empty bins, it was for just about everything that they found not in compliance with corporate instructions. Why me? Because I wasn't there, I guess.

Sir didn't have my back even though none of it (none!) had anything to do with me or my work/responsibilities. Ask me if I'm rethinking just where my loyalty lies. I'm nobody. A part-time employee who always shows up and works while I'm there. But I'm responsible for what doesn't get done or doesn't get done according to instructions? What's wrong with this picture?

I really like the work I do but think it's time to take a permanent hike. The corporate BS is really getting to me. Really. Next week I'm off from Thursday through the following Monday. I need the time off.

In May there's the consult about cataract surgery, which I'll schedule as soon as I can after that. That'll give me six more weeks off...three weeks each eye because bending and lifting are absolutely verboten for that long.

I'm going to try real hard to hang on until then and maybe a bit after that so that I can reach my savings/EF goals.

I need y'all to encourage me to hang on and discourage me/talk me down from just telling them to shove it.

And...on Friday I'm taking my garden spade to work with me to break up and scrape away the ice mountains. Garden spade because the bottom edge is flat.

Also on Friday? I have to work alone again. I'm feeling really put-upon, sad and used.

Pity party over for now.

Hi all folks!!! Up since 6 am which was good nit e sleep, now
my body is going to pot since I've been up!! Left leg calf
has pain issues with crampy feeling......allergies full force in
spite of claritin.....breathing issues too....,oh heck, just recalled
I'M old.......DID YOU know that squirrels love those cheap
nacho chips the joints send with your enchilado order!!?!?!
Gggrannyy I've joined your pity party today LOL@@!!!

Yesterday I walked a full 2 miles, then went to my daughters for our usual Tuesday afternoon…. Good thing I did, there was a burst pipe in town and about 5 min after I got there, she had no water and it was still not back on by 5pm when I headed home… and she had a mountain of laundry. So I poked the baskets of clothes in the trunk and I am doing wash for her

Today is a lick-and-a-promise day, lots of little things to accomplish. None will alter the course of history but when let them slide, then it just builds up and makes each task more mammoth.

Anyway, have a good day y’all 😊

Hello, all.
When going to glance around this thread to check on each of you, I realized I was on a way old page.:rolleyes:

And I soon realized that one can't find news, on old pages. 😄

Fast forward now; hello everyone 👋

Looking out my window, 3 daffodils are open and a few crocus clumps.
Not as much as i used to have but very much appreciated, this week, and this year!

I'm working on and coping with medical issues, esp for dh, and some issues with our apartment, too. Often feeling stressed and overloaded, but am managing.

I've been thinking of you folks and wanted to leave a hello post here for you! :)

I think you can hang in there if you give yourself a date. Tell yourself you only have to put up with the BS until said date.
Then put up with said BS until said date with a spring in your step and a smile on your face.
When your day comes be happy knowing that tomorrow someone else gets to worry about all that nonsense. Remember the good times and your good work.
At that time we'll talk about transitioning to not working. It takes a little time. 🙂
