So, I had this big old dead tree in the corner of the property that I'm afraid would be shedding "widow maker" limbs on me... or, worse yet, land on the garage and put the hurt to wife's Chevy, or even land in the road
Well, today was cut that bugger down. Of course, my big husky chainsaw wouldn't start, so I dug out the old cheap Poulin Pro and my small Stihl saw and had at it. It was a job because it was leaning all the wrong way and therefore, I had to drop it between the trees by the road and my cement driveway. All went well. :) Love that trusty little Poulin.

Lots of work! You must be in great shape.

Good job! I always forget the before, and progress pictures. They remind us how much work we did!

We're going to our son's tomorrow for Mother's Day, DH's birthday, Grand girl birthday brunch. All I have to do is bring some fruit! Yay!
We will all be together so I've already warned them that I'll want pictures! 😊 So hard to get everyone at once.
Girls will come home with us for a couple days.
Our house is quiet and gives them a break. I used to think it was boring but everyone, even kids need some quiet time along with being the stars of the show. 😍

Hope you have a lovely Mothers' day.. Ours was 2 months ago in March...

Happiness is, if you don't have your younger, full-time working wife at home, to have at least 3 pups giving you their love

Next month, all my family will fly to Oahu and stay at Disney's Aulani. I'll stay at home because I don't like flying anymore,
and the Aulani is a family resort with too much hustle and bustle. I am too old for that. Actually, this vacation was supposed
to be my wife's "retirement from work" celebration, but then she decided to work one more year until 72 if she doesn't burn
out in the meantime.

Below: last year my wife and I stayed on Kauai at a cottage along the beach that was very quiet and relaxing. That I enjoyed
and will do anytime again even if it means sitting for five hours in an airplane like in a can of sardines.

Waiting to see if my new neighbor will be great or terrible has become quite stressful. Before this last horrible neighbor and the neighbor behind becoming bullies, I didn't give it much thought who moved in or out and when. But this has been agonizing.

The weather changed very quickly causing some distress as well.

I did find a new AI chatbot that looks promising. I'm happy about that.

Got up and out for a walk early. Brr, chilly, but it beats Summer heat. Sun's well up now and it looks like a beautiful clear day.

I have a couple of small beds and some patio planters, so it sounds like picking up some annuals and getting them in makes sense. Mother's Day, so putting on a plaid shirt and hitting a couple of garden centers sounds like just the place to run across single ladies. ;) Ok, I didn't mean for that to sound quite as reptilian as it does. :ROFLMAO:

From personal experience, I know that it was a big job. I'm glad to hear that there were no ER visits!!!

Well done!! (y)

I love the pictures! Especially the one in the hammock.....good to enjoy life! Too much hustle and bustle just isn't fun anymore. I like your idea much better! 🙃

I've been playing with AI, and having a good time. I go to 2 different sights.
What is "chatbot"?

Good luck with those new neighbors! Please, don't pre-stress yourself. It's not good for you. Wait and see....positive thoughts, etc.

@Trila Stop and pick me up on your way to @hawkdon's😋😋

We're going out for lunch. I don't like to go out to eat, especially not on a busy day. Can't handle the commotion. And today there'll be a wait. Ugh.

Would you believe that our floral department ran out of flowers yesterday? Yup. They had to send the department manager out to several different Kroger stores to gather up👉28👈 huge boxes of flowers (containing about 20 bouquets of cut flowers each). By 6pm, they were gone. Sent dept. mgr. out again for 16 more. They were gone before the store closed at 11pm. There was a delivery from Kroger's florist during the night so still some bouquets left when I clocked out at 9 this morning.

I guess Mother's Day was a surprise. Sort of like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I got Mother's Day *prizes* from DD. Chocolate, of course, and two more solar lights for the garden. And an indoor/outdoor pillow for my back. I already love it...just what I need after bending over to cut back three gazillion azaleas when I got home from work.

One of the solar lights is the kind that gets staked in the ground and looks like a mushroom. The other is a lantern.

One can never have too many solar garden lights or too much chocolate.

Now...if they'd just please excuse me from going out for lunch.

Well it's coming up to 5.30pm now, still hot and sunny... and it's been 80 degrees today...

I got a whole load done in the garden. Planted plants and flowers... cut back all the Ivy .... and I noticed that my Polycarbonate Canopy over the back door which looks like this...
P5559-701125-00.jpg

had split in 2 places vertically in the middle of the canopy.. by about 2 or 3 inches. Hardly noticeable but of course it would let the rain through, and eventually it will get wider, so I got up on a high ladder and repaired them for now...

I went down to our local marina.. and had a walk.. very busy down there because the weathers' so nice, and the pubs are there, so families go for Sunday lunch

I got home and discovered despite putting Sun factor Lotion 30spf on my face before going out, my face is red as a beetroot with Hives... and stinging like mad:eek: I can only imagine that last years' lotion has lost it;s strength..it's a good quality one as well.

Right now I've got roast potatoes in the oven.. cabbage cooking on the stove, and Ham Ribs in the fridge I cooked yesterday.. to have for dinner in a few minutes..
