It's a pity that children want to reinvent the wheel by themselves. They could have gone so much further in life if they had accepted the guidance of their parents. Well, we hope that our daughters will take care of us in old age. So far, so good. Let's see.
My mother often said you can't put an old head on young shoulders. It was true of me, my kids and now my grandkids. Some lessons humans seem to have to learn for ourselves, even if it's the hard way.

Another day gone to the neighbors. He started making noise at 9:45 am. They didn't stop until 6 pm. They were loud, rowdy and obnoxious, but they didn't blast their music like they normally do.

Someone showed up in the new neighbor's house. Any positive thoughts for them being good, quiet and respectful neighbors would be greatly appreciated.

In NYC it is legal to be loud during those hours and it would take a murder for the law to be involved. My new downstairs neighbor finds me noisy during those hours. She has written me notes, the last one claiming she now works from home and could I be a good neighbor and not be heard during the day?

Good neighbor. I don't live in an office. Let her be a good neighbor and leave me (the F) alone. She has harassed me, not recently though. Because I am legally correct. Besides, going deaf from 1st row Jimi Hendrix concerts at Fillmore East. Need to hear what I'm listening to.

Buffy, left, and Max. Sunday was their 18th Birthday only they are no longer alive. Max died at 15.9 and Buffy had her 17th last year. She died last 6/9 and took a chunk of my heart with her. Miss them so much. Always together.

Adopted a new brother/sister team last September. Louie and Gidget. Eventually their presence might exceed my loss. I'm 74 and I assume they wil be my last cats. Gidget licking my neck right now and purring mightily!

Copied this from another thread. This is what I did yesterday: Miss them.

Thanks all here who helped me deal with the grief. Greatly appreciated.

Been up since 12:45 am and hope I don't pay a big price for it. Just couldn't sleep. Miss them, miss all four of my wonderful cats. Honor their lives and the joy they gave me.

Good morning! I'm up and will soon be at 'em. I was so tired last night that I slept for nine hours--count 'em 👉9👈--and am now ready to lick my weight in wildcats🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛.

There's laundry to do, gardenkeeping to do, and there's also my ophthalmologist appointment at 1:40 this afternoon.

Eye doc appointment is to address when and where cataract surgery will be done. It can't happen too soon to suit me. Aside from being able to see again, it'll get me a three-week vacation for each eye. Unpaid vacation but who cares? At first I was leaning toward pushing for having both eyes done at the same time so I wouldn't have to take more than three weeks off. Now I'd rather do them one at a time so that I can take six weeks off.

Okay, then. Let's get this show on the road. There are things to do, places to go, people to see!

The day started a bit rough but my mom has had breakfast and is in her room watching television or doing a crossword. I will cook a bit later today and then have some zoom meetings this afternoon. It's cold but I'm going to get out and walk early.

Last night I started watching season 3 of Bridgerton. It did not disappoint.

Nearby township has its own "Music in the Park" events this season distinct from ours. Tomorrow "Sea Cruisers (oldies) with opener Wild Honey Trio" on the big stage on the ball field. A food truck will be selling food. If the weather holds, the free concert should be worth checking out.

Another glorious day... someone across the way is having work done in their garden, shed or fence being erected or even dismantled.... I can't see it, but I can hear the hammering very loudly.... sounds like we're all suffering from noise today.....

Sorry for those of you who are having problems every day..

Today I have a lot to do.. had a call from my lawyer this morning just to advise on a couple of things re the 32 page form.... and an email from HIS lawyer to say they'll be ready for simultaneous exchange tomorrow.

I have no idea what to expect.. except that his lawyer is in the city so it looks like I may have to drive there, and I'm praying she doesn't mean literal exchange, I don't want to see my husband .. .. the stress at the thought of it, is causing problems with my body... :(

Anyway...one day it'll all be over and hopefully for the good, I just have to keep that in mind...

I can't imagine dealing with all of that on top of the pall of dramatic life changes and inevitable separation anxiety, despite the circumstances of this divorce.

Stay strong, and push on through this day by day. I imagine even once it's "over" pain will linger for some time.

Hi everyone,
First time on here,
Not to happy today, and in lots of previous days.
I have Carpul tunnel in my wrist and have a lot of pain with it.
I seem to be waiting forever to hear about getting it sorted out
Apart from that it’s a lovely sunny day here so it’s getting the washing dry.
Have a good day all,

Got a little more string trimming done, then strung my solar powered patriotic lights in anticipation of he holiday weekend. I'll probably brave the mosquitos and tweak placement once it gets dark, but they should look good. Ironically the new LED streetlamps end up illuminating less, directing the light almost strictly downward. If you don't have one right in front of your house you're in the dark. Yet we still pay the fee for them as a line item in our property taxes.

Good sun right now though, so I've put my lawn mower battery on my folding camping solar panel which can provide either 12v (nominal) or the 24v my mower battery needs. May as well get some use out of it.

Might go wash the car despite the rains coming. We get enough to dampen things and create stifling humidity but not enough to rinse the car if left outside. Pollen, sap, bird crap. Bleh. Then head out for a drive to look over Durand Railroad Days. Activity won't be high there until after working hours when the carnival resumes and such, but I can do a walk-through and see what the old Union Station (now museum) is doing in the way of displays. On the way back I can stop in Perry and get groceries in a small local chain store. Maybe hit a farm market along the way too.

I see that a small town American Legion Hall to the West is doing a steak dinner at the end of the month, public welcome. I know some old co-workers will be going so maybe I'll have to see if I can get in touch with some of them.

Battery gave out in my car. Stranded my wife and I at the nature trail thios morning. Had to beg for a jump start like some third world peasant.
I keep one of these in the car:

https://www.amazon.com/autowit-Supe...rancador/dp/B086L29DL9/ref=asc_df_B086L29DL9/

No battery in it to freeze or prematurely age or lack a charge when you need it.

If need be it will suck what juice remains in the car battery so it can dump it all at once with adequate cranking voltage and current in a burst. It can also be charged from a USB power adapter if you need it at home, or from 12v (lighter) jack of another car.
