How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

I'm going to be alone this holiday weekend. It is very sad for me as I became a widow on Memorial Day. The day before, my son & I went to New Hampshire's Stonehenge. Husband didn't come, didn't feel well. We had a wonderful fabulous day. On Memorial Day the three of us ate Mexican and rented & watched 'What About Bob.'

The weekend includes Sunday so I'm guessing she also meant Monday. If that's the case, Sir would be working the first holiday weekend of the summer by himself. That's kinda awful! So if she meant the entire weekend including Monday, I'll go in and help him. Otherwise, I'll be off all week. One day won't kill me.

It's gonna be hot again today. Still haven't turned on the AC. I should probably vacuum out the cobwebs or whatever and see to that today.

The birdies woke me up again at 5 but went back to sleep for about 45 minutes
On my early walk at 6:30 temp was 62 as I went halfway down my street
This morning at 9 going over to Marcia&Dave's house, she sent me a picture of a chair they thought I might like It came from Dave's mom apt . Yesterday she called asking if I could dog sit Tage for 1hr 1/2 while she goes to buy some flowers.I had to laugh while we were talking, he heard my voice started barking. Marcia said he was looking for me I think this the last time I'll dog sit him until I move
The rest of my day continue packing,its another sunny day here,take advantage and probably sit in the community garden this afternoon

Does your care lady just "work"....or is it a combination of work and socializing?
 
Too warm at 73 already and 82 this afternoon predicted. I've had my air on for 2 days!

Set up my 4-armed bendable grow light in my plant corner a better way last night.

No, the light is not purple. I have it clipped above the plants to my standing floor lamp.
 
I have just finished mowing and weeding...2 lawns... and a strip of land. The humidity is supposed to be only 52 deg but I'm telling you it feels much more than that. I even took the hedge trimmer to a stump of a tree that lines our road but has thorny branches sprouting from it and cars can't park near it for fear of it scratching paintwork..

I'm sitting now , changed and got a Strawberry & Pineapple cold smoothie...

Today I've also added another phone number and provider to my phone.. in readiness for any abusive calls I might get pre or Post D...
 
It's hot. I'm tired. Too hot and too tired to play in the dirt. I'll have all next week to play.

I didn't mention anything about helping Sir on Monday and glad I didn't. Right now I'm not feeling it one bit.

It was a hard morning in the croissant mine. Worked six hours. Feels like six days.

And, gee, guess what? After I mentioned a few things about the job to Cookie and a floater employee (who used to work in the bakery) mentioned a few things to her, and NL mentioned a few things, and Sir spoke to her and the deli manager spoke to her...she's still there. Bet money they don't can her. Next up assistant store manager is going to "speak" to her. Pffffft.

So she doesn't report to g'mother. It's still nepotism. They're not going to do anything to rock g'mother's boat.

I'm disgusted and frustrated and tired of picking up her slack. The work I do is time consuming and there's no time left to finish up her work, too. I don't give a rip anymore that she's "nice." Nice isn't getting the job done. I don't really want her to lose her job; I just want her to do her job.

The cookies? She left one tray. I have no idea why she'd leave one tray undone. Two dozen cookies. Two packages. WTH?

@hollydolly I'm finally catching up on some of the posts here and am so sorry to read of all of the difficulties and challenges you've been facing. Sending you a hug from afar.
 
Lawn finished. Showered. Headed out for a drive, I think I'll get a small pineapple and black cherries in cherry shake. Probably skip the drive through and buy at the window and drink it there. Or maybe just go for a creative sundae instead. Something with caramel and nuts?
