A varied day, considering the weather has been cool & now has reverted to intermittent drizzles. I've been cutting unplanted shrubs that have cropped up in various undesirable places, and—grrr!—weeding out an aggressive, invasive plant called pepper grass whose presence has exploded around here in the last two years. What I really wanted to get to, and which I did eventually, was planting the first block of corn.
Given the unusually coldish soil temps during the most of our spring, an encouraging signal has come in the long awaited appearance of first potato shoots/leaves above ground!
And also, I haven't been sidetracked recently by the need to fix an ailing piece of machinery. I'm grateful.
