How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

I admit it is boring to sit all day on a beach but right now I could use a few days of it. Walking the beach would do too.
yep I agree.. In Spain when I was living there full time.. I loved to walk the beach. The Chiringuitos are really great for drinks and Tapas... as well... and we didn't have the crowds that the Southern UK beaches have...also in the UK Bars are not permitted on the actual beaches..

This is one of the many beaches just minutes from my home...in Spain

i gotta say, sitting on a beach has never appealed to me,

I walk beaches, too. I don't enjoy sitting on the beach for more than a few minutes, and with what we've since learned about skin cancer, I'm grateful to never have been one to bake in the sun at a pool or beach.

Holly, the beaches I go to look a lot like the Spanish photo you posted. Sure, Malibu, Venice, Santa Monica, and other world famous beaches are crowded, but other beaches are just as beautiful and draw only a handful of people, even in hot weather.

The California coast is 840 miles long, including 118 miles of shoreline between LA & Ventura Counties, both of which are relatively near me.

as i never put the post there,i have no idea when it was put there,,,
If you have a touch screen, and use it to scroll down while reading posts, then you might inadvertently sometimes click on the
+Quote button
which is always between the Like and the Reply.

That would lower other peoples comments, into your reply box, so that when you post your actual reply, (or touch the screen again to scroll back up)
then, they might come up and post onto the forum, without you realizing it.

It's called the Multi-quote button, and stores all that you may have slightly touched, and unknowingly 'selected.'

Just a possible thought I had. NO idea if that's what happened or not.

I'm wondering how those storm weather warnings are going, for your particular area.
Thank you for asking. 🤗

The storm stalled before arriving so it's a little tardy, but we are being warned it's coming and will pack a wallop. Had some overnight rain, then a few hours of no rain, but it's starting up again now with no breaks forecast until Wednesday. Still saying 5"-6" for this area, with most of it arriving today.

DS dropped of TGS so they continue readying their house for the next baby (due mid-March). I asked him to put PJs and clothes for tomorrow in the diaper bag so we're prepared if the storm and flooding make it unsafe for the little guy to be ferried back home this evening.

Omigosh, it is sooo cold and rainy here. And windy. Let's don't forget the wind. It makes the cold feel even colder. The temp is 45F, not too bad, but the north wind is strong and the feels-like temp is only 36.

@StarSong I didn't realize how serious the rain out there is expected to be! Really. I thought it was just panic time because...California. Sunshine. Y'all be careful. As we say here: "Turn around. Don't drown." Better yet, don't even go out in it!

@hollydolly Those beach pictures! I remember the beach at Bournemouth. We didn't get any closer than the boardwalk above the beach, and it didn't look like a pleasant place to be at all. Imagine "losing" your people in those crowds😯

I survived going directly from work to Walmart. Barely. I'm so tired right now that I don't even know where to put myself, especially after the second lacey night in a row. Thank heaven tomorrow's a day off.

DD is making chili for supper tonight. I. Do. Not. Like. Chili. Yeah, I know; it almost makes me a heretic, but I truly don't like it. Maybe the texture? I do, however, like to put cornbread in the bottom of a bowl and ladle the liquid from chili over it, but just the liquid. No meat. No beans. Chili "juice" and cornbread.

oooh goodness gracious... fingers crossed that the storm isn't as bad as they forecast, Star...🤞

just woke up from a two hour nap, had a light supper and now the cat is curled up on my lap while the rain batters on the roof. "We" (lol) are watching the latest video from Nicki of the Positano Diaries... @hollydolly talked about them and I check in on them every once in a while. They've bought a house in Tuscany-- imagine, they can drive right up to their door and unload groceries or whatever! No more climbing 500 steps! yay :):giggle::love:

We are keeping TGS for the night to give DS more time to take care of things at their house.

Rain has fallen steadily all day. Local advice is to stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary, and we're following that.

I'm glad our dog has amazing bladder and bowel control.

Got the electric strung to the shed. Installed an overhead light and some electric outlets. Ran a temporary line to an outside flood light so the fur babies don't have to go out in a dark yard. :)
Wife's cataract surgery went well. 2 days and all is well and vision is back to near perfect. ❤️ Now she's able to take her Chevy out again.
Tomato plants are full of flowers... so shouldn't be long now. Same with the straw berry plants.

~Refilled two pill cases while chatting with my son.
~Washed Deja's bowls, loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the hose & sink with Comet.

~Had phone conversations with my middle grandson, who's in the hospital and my honorary daughter. Also my honorary son, who is my son's BFF, called and we talked for over an hour. We always share lots of laughs.

~Took an evening nap for about an hour and a half.
~Danced to part of my House music playlist.

Will you be alright staying put? I saw that some areas are being evacuated. Please stay safe!

Thank you, Diva. Rain is moderately heavy and steady. No overflow above the curbs in this area. We've gotten some automated emergency alerts but all are cautionary about staying put unless emergency personnel specifically advise otherwise.

I feel confident we'll be fine through the night and will reasses in the morning.

Okay, who woke me at 330am????
Uh... Well that may have been me. Sorry, Hawk. My eyes popped open at 2:23 and by 3:30 I concluded it was ridiculous staring into the dark any longer, so I made coffee. Didn't mean to wake ya... wanna cup? :coffee:

As for my day... no idea yet, but I'll think of something after the sun rises, I'm sure. 🌞 @hawkdon

Up since one am. Don't know how I'll drag myself through the day. Watched a fire in some stores across the street which started around four. Lots of smoke; trucks, noise. Didn't see actual fire, just saw & smelled smoke. Am suspicious of store it appeared to start in. Think they are a front for something........Russian store, open 24/7, a "coffee" shop that barely has customers. Lots of stores in my neighborhood are fronts for other activities like money laundering. So obvious. No one cares.
