Although 2024 is just starting, it’s already been a great year. I was able to fly to El Salvador and bring back my daughter and two grandkids back here. Her husband is still waiting for legal immigration approval (been two years). As her health was in dire straights, it was time to come back. She has been a missionary there for nine years. After just a week, I can already see improvement. Yeah, the house is upside down, but it’s worth it. This year, 2024, has been a blessed year.
I hope your daughter's health keeps improving, Bob. Glad you got her and the grands here. Your poor son -in-law waiting 2 years now, to immigrate? Yikes, no wonder so many jump the fence, so to speak. Wishing them the best of luck. 🌹

My son and I both had visits with our glaucoma specialist today. When we first walked in, the waiting room was packed so I thought we'd be in there for hours but we were seen relatively quickly and wound up in the same examining room. That worked out well because she saw me right after she was finished with him. but my appointment was actually a half hour later than his.

I was dilated today. my precssures are good and my eyes look good.
She concurred with the other doctor that I should not be concerned about concretions unless they become bothersome again. Although she wants to see my son a month sooner than she would normally see me, she agreed that we could make joint appointments two months from now, another convenience. Saw the other doctor on our way out and told him that my eye is still doing well. He was happy about that.

On the way home, dialation caused me to see pretty haloed lights that looked like jeweled rainbows over the cars! That was fun.😍 I was better able to watch TV right after we got home then I thought I would be. I ate half a PBnJ sandwich then took a long nap. It's 11:44 PM and my eyes are still a little hazy from the dilating drops 😳

I was in N.Y.S. once. Syracuse and Rochester. Friend was stationed at the air Base, his wife a Prof. at the University. Had a chance to go to N.Y. to see the Lady of the Lake but parking is a PITA. Woodstock was that week. didn't go. Friends couldn't do it. I should have. Haha. No problems though. Traffic awful in New York State, everywhere. Niagra falls was nice. Canada and its French on the signs. Haha

I had such a wonderful experience yesterday afternoon. My local library book club is back! Lively, intelligent people discussing a book. Being involved in an in-person, one-on-many, face to face.

And these broads are so smart!!!!!!!!!!!! And there I was, right in the middle, participating with other living people for the first time since the pandemic! Whoo hoo, that really charged up my brain, my caring of other live people all together in the same room.

Loved the discussion, the laughs, the getting to know others and seeing a few familiar faces! Gosh, I missed that so much.

I was actually happy.

Also, and even more important, had an in-depth conversation with my son. I was listened to; I was understood.

Same at book club; I was listened to, I was understood.

Deeeelighted about your book club, @Pepper ! That’s one of my fave activities too 🤓

And so glad you got some resolution with your family situation. A Red Letter day all around! 😘

Today my handyman is coming to take down my old bathroom mirror and hang up my new fancy bling mirror. I’m going to paint this wall the same color as my vanity since it will pull my bathroom together and make the mirror pop. The rest of the walls are cream.

Then my son and I are going for a long walk and then tonight a friend is coming over for dinner, games and spending the night. It’s going to be in the 50’s.

@hawkdon WD40...LOL!

It's been rainy and foggy all morning, but that didn't stop the Saturday grocery shoppers.

When I got to work this morning, Sir was just leaving. I don't know what time he got there, but it must have been reeeeally early judging by how much he got done. It certainly is a big help to me when there's somebody there earlier because from 6-9 I play beat the clock to get everything done that's required to be done by 9.

The schedule for next week shows me working from 6-10. That's a hoot. There's no way on God's green earth... However, Sir told me to work until however much past 10 that I can/want to. Working only until 10 would be like a vacation🏖️⛱️:p

DD is going to DGD's this afternoon to help her purge. Purge why? Because when the lease is up April 1, she's moving back here. Why? Because she can't support the rent and other expenses when her student loans are due again. It really is a shame because she and her roommate get along swimmingly, and she really likes having her own place. Maybe moving back home will spur her into being more mindful of saving. You remember saving? It used to be called "pay yourself first."

What's funny, though, is that after only one year, she has to purge anything. Amazing how much stuff we accumulate in not much time. BTDT!

Health was back on track, thanks for asking 🐱!

Went out shopping for last bit for January and thankfully with the bargains, covering a great deal of February as well 😹😹😹.

It was a beautiful day but on the very frosty side of it. The sun's rays didn't reach the ground. Nevertheless, it was an amazing time at local Aldi's. All that's left are items that weren't in store today, plus necessities for kitty kat. Cat litter is running seriously low after 6 months ehehe.

He's a very clean cat. A special at Farmfoods isn't to be missed, so CoffeeBean will be getting a treat of wet foods for another couple of months. Aye, spoiled kitten, but he's a wonderful companion.

The morning kisses (imagine sandpaper tongue bath 😹😹😹) from my little guy are worth so much love. This morning there was added biscuits kneading and purrs... It helped the blood pressure rising back to normal levels... Aye, go figure that one, but it's true.

Chilling in front of screen watching Captain America films. Ooh that sexy Chris Evans, yummy (according to daughter 😂) and currently it's Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr, grrrr! 😹😹😹

7pm now, so off to get dinner going. Chicken nuggets and chips. That'll require lots of ice cold sodas to wash them nuggets down as they're flaming hot. Woohoo!

About 2 hours dealing with Clown World (AT&T) on the phone. India, India, Tulsa, India (at least she has a sexy voice, she should consider Bollywood) I got passed and passed and passed around.

At least Ms. Pillow-Talk-Voice understood the device I was calling about as well as the problem. I think the Tulsa guy actually fixed the issue but she had me reset the device and then the proper light came on. Then she called on that phone.

So for now I have two different phone services that both show the same # on Caller ID, but when I call that # from my cell phone only the new one rings. The old copper line is supposed to be terminated, but we'll see whether that just takes some time or I have to call Clown World once more on Monday.

This ain't your Father's AT&T, or even yours.

Just been out shopping in the dark... ages since I did that.. and especially on a Saturday night.

Went to the mall, and bought costume jewellery... then to the Supermarket .. I'd initially gone out for milk, and bleach... but I got fair few other things which were needed.. . Then I drove to the Chinese restaurant.. and got a take -away of Sweet & sour Prawns, and Pork dumplings..

It's 10 miles home, so by the time I got home the take-away was still quite warm.. and just as I served it up, the landlord of the house next door knocked..because I'd made a complaint to him this morning about the tenants ..and of course my food got stone cold.. .

Then to top it all , I realised I hadn't got the Bleach.... 😣

It was quite strange being in the mall at night.. it was packed out.. usually there's hardly anyone in there... but of course it's full of restaurants, and it also has a Multi-plex cinema there.. so Saturdays are probably their busiest day and evening

Great to read such a positive post @Pepper. Hopefully every day will bring you a little sunshine :)

@hollydolly I like going to the shops in the evening when it's dark and everyone else has been and gone. :)
Trish..it was the exact opposite where I was this evening... even the supermarket was packed..which is about a 4 minute drive from the Mall... must admit I was really surprised.

When I came out of the Mall to get my car.. there was queues of people waiting for spaces to park.. just incredible... I realise it's Saturday night, but this was just after it got dark, around 4.45.... then the supermarket between 5pm and 6pm...

It's surprising the difference a little winter sunshine can make! Yesterday, we had a lovely day, the weather was crisp but the sun was shining and we stopped for a coffee and watched everyone else rushing about.

Probably just me but, I lose earrings the way other people lose socks and end up with a collection of odd earrings so, I tend to buy earrings from places like Accessorize and was not only lucky enough to find the earrings I had been looking for but, they were all reduced :)

Today, we had more of that lovely crisp weather, met up with friends and had lunch together. Of course, the chances are that we will have more grey skies before the warm weather arrives but, it's great to have a break from the wind and rain. :)
