Got a call on my cell and was told my landline is dead. Yep, I can't figure out what is causing it and the line is dead so tomorrow I will have to call in for repair. A friend called me right before the Ravens/Chiefs game ended to ask how I liked the game....I forgot it was on and missed the entire game. He counted down the last 5 seconds for me. Ravens lost. I really did very little except to mess around in the closets moving clothes around.

Went over the more detailed specs for the contract job and have emailed that I'm taking it and I'll send out the signed papers tomorrow. Shouldn't take even 40 hours work to produce what they want, so I didn't low-ball anything after all.

My wife wanted to get some fresh air today. So, we drove one hour to Newport Beach, walking a mile up and down the waterfront and enjoying the fresh ocean breeze and beautiful views. Catalina Island was barely visible some 30 miles offshore. In the opposite direction, perhaps 50 miles away, we saw snow covered mountains but too hazy to take a picture. Plenty of surfers but only small waves. Rain and lower temperatures are in the forecast.

On this Monday I have shall have a shopping delivery arrive at lunchtime, have tea in Wetherspoons( the all day brunch perhaps) and from there take the two minute walk to the theatre to see Ad Hoc Theatre Companies production of ‘Now in a Minute’,a comedy set in the Welsh Valleys.
if it is as funny as ‘Whose Coat is this Jacket ?’ was last year I’m in for a treat.

I visited Catalina Island once, many years ago with friends. So pretty. I remember a fancy old theater, There was a shell gift shop where they ground off the nasty grey outer part to reveal beautiful mother of pearl layers and bands of multi colors.

Someone caught a huge Marlin and they hung it on the scale and rang bells.

I regret not going out there when I lived & worked in SoCal many, many years ago. I bet it's beautiful and probably would have been much less developed/commercialized back then in the 70's

Morning folks....been up since 4am here, toooo early...on my
3rd cuppa and wondering what I am up to ....got a couple bills
to pay, maybe a load of laundry//////....I feel chilly today, but
71f in here, 30deg outside....ah well....I'll get up to some sort
of trouble in a bit.....have a great day all.....;)

Omigosh! Wudju believe that Maggiecat let me sleep until 6:30? Had my coffee on the patio because it isn't raining. Only 38 but not raining.

Laundry today. And other stuff, like sorting through years and years of paperwork saved from SSA, AT&T, Kaiser. What made me think I needed to keep all that stuff? And why is all that Medicare stuff from Kaiser doing in a folder for SS and AT&T pension? (I never did like details...)

My bright idea was to file income tax, but AT&T changed providers for pension funds, and only the old one has sent what I need to file. Guess it's easy enough to figure out. Maybe if DSIL doesn't go to work until this afternoon. I should have asked yesterday when he was off.

What it all comes down to is that I think I'm supposed to get a boatload of money back from the Feds, and I want it. Might have to pay state and I don't wanna:mad:

DGD was back in ER last night because her temp dropped suddenly to 95.5...that's hypothermia territory! I haven't heard this morning what caused it but thinking probably either the meds she got for the kidney infection Saturday night or a reaction to them caused by the various and assorted other meds she has to take.

Anyway, this time when they saw her coming, they snatched her right up and did blood work and other stuff. Saturday visit was nine hours. Last night was "only" four.

I guess she's okay now. Nobody's up yet to ask.

I am working with very deep cleaning, starting with my room. Did a small corner yesterday, will expand today. I remembered to wear a mask for the old dust, and this made the whole job much easier and better. A lot to do around here. Next are going through boxes that are in this corner, some of which I haven't looked at in over 20 years. Some were never unpacked since I moved here from Massachusetts in the early 2000's. Have no idea what is in these boxes. It will be a (dusty) adventure.

DGD's ER doc was a b*tch and gave her no info at all. An MRI was done, and she didn't even bother to give her the results. I guess she'll go on the patient portal today to see. Her nurse was embarrassed by the doc's nasty attitude.

Anyway, DSIL is off again today, and I've located everything I need to file taxes. Yippee. I'm either gonna be rich as Croesus or flat broke. Or maybe somewhere in between.

Going over more materials I got emailed for a job I'm doing. I should get back to it since another piece of that puzzle just arrived.

Just picked up one prescription refill the other day, now a new re-order by the Doc finally came in so one more run this afternoon. Maybe "purple hair" will be working the counter again. :ROFLMAO:

Later on I'll go shop for slacks and belts. Losing weight is nice but cinching up the belt makes me feel like a Clampett using a rope through the loops. It's that or pull out my old polyester from the 1980s out of the back closet.

I plan on getting my garbage into the bin , and doing some cleaning.
The tacos I planned for last week are finally being lunch for today - and half of an avocado will be enough for a small
guacamole sauce with some jalapeños.

I might make some cupcakes, and although we had very little snow last night, there is still some fog and my satellite dish has snow in it, slowing down my reception for internet.

As far as Mondays go, today was a great one. The weather was dry and brisk so, no need for heavy coats just short Sherpas.

We were out for just one item, our kitty kat needed a new bag of Wood Pine Scented Pellets (aka Cat Litter) our local B&M carries a 30L bag for £6.99. This lasts 6 months.

He's crazy about it. He has so much fun reducing the pellets to powder. He's already christened his newly cleaned out litter box 😆😆😆.

Then, we had to replace one of our shopping trolleys. They were way too pricey online. Bargain time at our local mercantile shop, had a January sale still. So now, 6 wheels pram-like shopping trolley to replace the one that broke Friday.

This one will take up to 25kg. Finally the soda bottles won't be a pain anymore. Woohoo!
