As far as Mondays go, today was a great one. The weather was dry and brisk so, no need for heavy coats just short Sherpas.

We were out for just one item, our kitty kat needed a new bag of Wood Pine Scented Pellets (aka Cat Litter) our local B&M carries a 30L bag for £6.99. This lasts 6 months.

He's crazy about it. He has so much fun reducing the pellets to powder. He's already christened his newly cleaned out litter box 😆😆😆.

Then, we had to replace one of our shopping trolleys. They were way too pricey online. Bargain time at our local mercantile shop, had a January sale still. So now, 6 wheels pram-like shopping trolley to replace the one that broke Friday.

This one will take up to 25kg. Finally the soda bottles won't be a pain anymore. Woohoo!

BONUS: Got our Noxzema delivery from Amazon Today! Instead of Wednesday...
Please tell me more about those pellets. How is it they last so long? How often do you have to change them? I'm thinking our cat might think they're something she can chase around the house. 😺 I take it you don't have to maneuver steps with your new trolley, especially at it's weight capacity (?) I used to use Noxema when I was young.

Around 8:30 I exercised to Leslie Sansone while talking to my BFF on the phone as she took her walk. I only walked for about 16 minutes because I knew the next part of my day would involve more exercise. Today was laundry day, I didn't take my clothes down to the laundry room though. Instead I set up my mini washer and spinner. I did what would amount to a double load in the industrial washers. It's not auto fill, so this method involves bending and lifting the bucket with water to fill the machine (it takes two, plus a basin full for each wash & rinse). I added about 5 or 6 more minutes to the walk just going back and forth to get the clothes done.

I intend to do the same amount tomorrow so I left the machines set up, pushed them to the back of the tub and covered them with garbage bags so we can actually still take our showers. We've had so much precipitation over the past week, so I didn't go to our community laundry room thus got behind again.

I took both dogs to the vet today. Max was scheduled for bloodwork before his dental next week and Amy has an ear infection. She has been coughing a lot so they did chest X-rays to see if she now needs a diuretic in addition to her heart medication. They found that her heart and liver are both enlarged. The total bill was 1k . I have dog insurance so should get 400 back.

It was 67 and the dogs and I took a long walk. It’s 20 degrees above normal. Yesterday was just as warm.

Welp, guess I overdid things the way my back feels now...very
painful on low left side...just put one of those stick on pain
patches so hope that will work some magic overnite....
Nite all.......;)
Oh I am no stranger to back pain. First thing I do is put an ice pack on it. I have a huge one that covers a lot of area. I keep it in the bottom of the freezer because of hurting my back so many times.

Any ways I hope your back gets better soon!

I hope your doggies get better soon. I realize how sky high Vet bills have gotten. I have dog insurance too. After a yearly 500.00 deductible they give you 90 percent back. It's Pets Best insurance. I am going to send in my first claim soon. I hope you can relax some. I know how hard it is when our pets are I'll or have issues. I'm going through that now, too. It doesn't seem to get any easier.

I was over at a neighbor's house yesterday for what turned out to be about 3 hours. 😵‍💫

Today I noticed that the cloth jacket I'd been wearing was a little rank. They have 3 smelly dogs, of course.

I didn't want to wash it right away, so I grabbed a spray bottle of "fabric refresher" deodorizer. Spray, spray, spray, spray, OMG! 🤮

Well I had grabbed the wrong bottle and got the one I had previously taken once empty and filled with white vinegar for doing windows. Dog sebum and saliva plus vinegar is nasty. 🤮

So I had to hang it outside to let as much evaporate as possible and then did that laundry anyway.

I won't let myself get trapped in the Bumpus house again for a long, long time.

Oil delivery man arrived at 8 am to tank up the heating oil. Just over 800 litres. A bit more than usual, but we're having a proper winter this year instead of the relatively mild one of the previous few years. It's -2C. with bright sunshine here at present and we're just getting ready to go shopping.
I've put out wild bird food and said hello to the regular visitors - Mr. Blackbird, Wren and a variety of tits and finches. They would eat us out of house and home, but they need fed in this weather.

Good morning. I'm up, coffeed, dressed, etc. Now it's time to make 🥐 🥐.

I'm still steaming over the income tax return yesterday and need to get over it. The union contract is up in July, so there will be a raise in the pay scale. Guess I'll just work fewer hours in 2024 so I don't make "so much" money.

I use a big ice block too. For my back, back of neck. It numbs, feels good. I'm a mess. Going today for nerve block, back of neck. If my sugars too high I won't be able to take it, but feels very low so far.

Morning all.....it is 34F outside, so still winter haha.....that patch
did the trick, at least for now the back feels good....COPD seems
bad tho, haveing a tough time in the mornings....ah well....think
I will take it easy today, no specific chores to do anyway...
Make it a great day okay !!!!!! ;):coffee:

Today..I'm feeling better than I was yesterday, altho' still very obviously loaded up with Cold.

Last night was very warm. When I went to bed it was 20 deg C.. couldn't believe it. trouble was I nearly died of heat during the night with all the blankets on, and I had very vivid nightmares about the estranged O/H...

Today is cloudy but mild currently 47 deg f...no wind...

32F here, overcast. Got an inch of new heavy wet snow, probably rain on top of it later.

Almost got it shoveled before the first clomper came through to pack snow footprints into the pavement. Almost hit him with the shovel as I whipped around. Fast-walker muttering something in Hindi, may have been on his phone but the hoodie made it hard to tell in the morning gloom.

It was nice though when someone expressed concern that I might be too fragile to be shoveling heavy snow by hand considering my CHF diagnosis. I'd grumble "Of course, I'm fine" and then be careful to watch for any signs of overexertion. Maybe someday again.

People are weird, aren't we?

Oh well, back to the grind.

My last dream, this morning, just before getting up...
Rode easily on horseback through gentle hills in a wide valley, into a pasture. There I spotted a round rustic house, built atop log pillars taller than me. Climbed the ladder, met a man at table having a meal on the small deck. After apologies for appearing there, I was invited in to meet the woman of the place. (Horse presumed picketed in the broad pasture, and somewhere close by.) Looked out through a window to view a beautiful vista.

My night's sleep had followed a good day. Yesterday I spent half the day helping my friend with his new shop. At present, the building (part of a existing shed) is an unheated space. No electricity yet available in there, and we're now wiring it for power. But temps have been a few degrees above freezing, and it was comfortable work as we both were dressed in layers. I came home in a great mood, as I enjoy working with Steve on his project.

After lunch I brought the evening/overnight firewood over to our house.

Then I went out to one of our outbuildings where I've got a project. I'm converting a used small, low hand truck with a 3-foot deck so it can be pushed or pulled over short-cropped grassy rural ground (our north yard). DW bought the useful thing for $10, I think, when a local business had been sold to buyers who were moving the operation to Monteal. Now I'm putting larger wheels on it.

After that, had a nice meal of heated leftovers. Did some reading, got to sleep around 10:30.

I am able to read some of your posts, this morning, so I'm catching up on how you're each presently doing, and thinking of each one of you.

I've been personally overloaded lately so I haven't been here often. 😕

I spend a lot of my time just struggling to cope, with dh's difficulties and with mine.
And trying to lower my stress level. That's my full time job, it seems.

Now that i say that, i realize that:
Someone really aught to fire me, I'm so lousy at my job!😲🙄😄☺️😆😊

Good morning! Supposed to be another lovely day today with a high between 78°-82° depending on the weather report.

There are a few things on my to-do list, but nothing urgent. Hoping to get started on decluttering the wall unit in the living room. It's 16'L X 6'H X 2.5' deep, so there's a lot to go through.

I'll only give the glasses and crystal that's behind glass doors a cursory going over today. Same with the liquor. (Despite us barely drinking alcohol anymore - and when we do it's usually beer or wine - I don't want to ditch something a regular guest enjoys. DH is better versed in what should stay and what should go so that chore is best saved for another day.

My focus will be the paper goods, plastic cups and other odds & ends stashed in the drawers and bottom cabinets.

Hang in there, Kaila. Hoping things will soon be better for you and your husband.

Fired? Pretty sure you're in line for a promotion...
