Today I want to finished off the new lined cushion covers that I cut out and prepared yesterday. It's silly, I know but, I like lined cushion covers even though no one else will ever see the lining. I also like to pick out a colour or tone from the fabric and either match it or contrast it with a zip which, again, no else is ever likely to see. :)

There are two cupboards I want to sort through and tidy up which I may or may not do today because, to be honest, the idea of going for a walk and then watching a film seems much more tempting ;)

Morning all....26deg F out there now, but no more snow fell...
Dunno what I'm doing yet today, better do disshes tho cause
dwarves have left the city I think....usual aches and pains of course, had some wierd dreams last nite, final dream woke me
right up!!! But of course i can't remember it now...have a great
day everyone....!!!! :cool::love::giggle:

GOOD morning, World, and all who inhabit it! [Spongebob quote :giggle: ]
I am soooo very tired of this cold... "bone chilling" is not just an empty phrase! The wind chill is below zero this morning and the actual temp is 16F. The furnace runs and runs but I still shiver. 🥶 Someone remind me of this when I'm whining about the 98 degree heat.

At least today I won't have to work alone. Yay.

It's going to be cold again, but we've been promised sunshine. Okay, then!
I was in Food Lion yesterday (southern US grocery chain).
There was a lady working in the bakery about my age. She was friendly, but no nonsense, and you could tell she knew what she was doing. I thought "That must be NorthCarolinagranny." 😊

70 year old pipe rotted under my kitchen sink. I ignored it for two days, too much in pain to deal with anything.

Remembered I like my super, Frank, and trust him so was finally able to call it in. Due to holiday, President's Day for those outside U.S., can't be fixed till Tuesday. Was planning on going to Emergency Room at "my" hospital Tuesday.

Now I don't know about myself.......son asked to take me today, I said "NO" as he, wife, son have tickets to see Harlem Globetrotters with grandson's schoolmates and I want them to go and enjoy themselves.

I'm a mess. The most important thing I can do for myself is remain calm so I can think straight. I am planning on going out later to a store. I need bananas and a few other little, happy staples. I must go.

@hearlady If that lady had blue hair and tattoos, she's probably a long-lost sister;)

I got all behind like the cow's tail yesterday, which put me behind today. Today was all behind a whole herd of cows. Tomorrow will be a real treat. Not! Because Sir is gone until Tuesday, NL wasn't scheduled until 11 this morning. That didn't help at all. She isn't scheduled until 11 tomorrow, either. That won't help, either. >insert heavy sigh here<

It's still colder than a banker's heart here, but the sun is out so that's a good thing. It's supposed to get warmer this week. Yanno, warmer until it turns colder again:rolleyes:

I should probably spend some time this afternoon working on the budget for March💸💸💸.

No blue hair, no tattoos. Jeans and hair net. 😊 Still.....

@hollydolly Some kind of head covering will help to keep you warm(er). It keeps body heat from escaping through the top of your head. Not kidding. It really helps. Might look silly wearing indoors, but nobody's gonna know except you, right?
I recently started wearing a beanie hat indoors when it's really freezing. I feel like an idiot every time I catch sight of myself...:ROFLMAO:

However it reminds me of my granny who always wore a hat indoors when it was cold.. she only had a coal fire no heating throughout the rest of the house, as we did at our house (we had one gas fire)... so she'd be sitting there in her regular clothes, with her Pinny ( Apron) on top.. and the hat on her head, even when she came to visit us every Wednesday.. she'd take her coat off, and sit there with her hat on...and I always wondered why she did that.. now I think I know

Blimey Holly, if it's that cold inside, you really should turn the heating on especially as you have arthritis. Your body temperature should be about 37C, I think.

A hat makes a big difference, outside and inside.

Thank you StarSong-it was good turn out for the viewing and luckily it didn't snow that day.

I autotuned two WW 2 documentaries to watch this afternoon- Sun is out but very cold, and am making ziti's in tomato sauce and sausage, and a raw spinach salad, and Texas Toast.

I might eat it in my bedroom on a TV dinner tray an watch TV there- it is a day to relax for me.....well there is the kitchen floor to wash, but that can sure wait. ;)

Many of you are suffering from snow and ice. To cheer you up, here are some flowers for you from my morning walk. And remember, soon Spring will come to your place as well.

Our Eucalyptus trees are in full bloom. Other pictures are from our neighbors.

What’s cooking? When my wife is AWOL, then my favorite concoction is Quinoa with Salsa. It's super-duper healthy.
My Kaiser-Permanente orthopedic surgeon assured me that healthwise I am in the top 10% of seniors my age.

And for snacks: sourdough bread dipped in olive oil, nuts, or some fruits. I am drinking mostly green tea from China.

@packleader, as a fellow member of the "Be Prepared for the San Andreas" club, and one whose anxiety was exacerbated by 2020 pandemic shortages and global sourcing interruptions, I fully relate to your wife.

Buying more food calmed my pandemic and EQ fears, but I was going overboard. One day I stood in the garage to assess my considerable backup pantry and realized I had enough food to last DH & me a minimum of 4-5 months. Yes, the meals would become routine and eventually, um, interesting, but from a calorie and nutrition perspective, we could last a long time.

I've cut back, but my shelves are still way overstocked. The only thing that will help me bring them into line is a thorough inventory that I put on Google Keep or other app to see on my phone when I'm in the grocery store. (If I know there are 8 cans of garbanzo beans in the pantry, I won't buy 4 more).

Maybe your wife could use the same kind of reminder of how much is in the pantry already. First step to solving any problem is to identify it - in this case, it's to organize and count what you've got on hand.

(Physician, heal thyself, right? My pantry is pretty well organized, but not counted. And it likely won't be be until the weather warms up enough for me to work out there for a few hours. Like you, my husband is truly a helpmate - I can count on him to give me a hand with the project.)

Wishing you and your wife the best with this.
