How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

Sun is out. I think it will stay sunny all day today. I'm waiting on one conference call this afternoon, which I dread, and I have to make one call this morning to see if I can get some action on an outstanding issue. Both of these calls are annoying as heck to me.

Tomorrow I am very busy and going to a play in the evening and walking through the town beforehand as there are things going on according to my friend. I volunteer early and the evening activity will get me home late, so I will be exhausted by Sunday. At least my friend is driving, so that helps. I hope I can stay awake. The play is "Mean Girls" put on by a high school drama club. Some of these kids are incredibly talented.

I was a bad girl. 😔 Grocery shopping this morning... and at this time of year, there are two treats I fully enjoy. The store's bakery is usually out of stock of one or the other if not both. Today they had both in stock so... uh... yeah, alright, I bought a container of each. Am I sorry for that? No way! I said I was naughty, not regretful. 🤪 Hot Cross Buns and Irish Soda Bread Scones. Oh yeah!:love:

Yesterday did some more wall painting in my office. Latex paint needs renewing after a while... as it ages it thins out in places. Now the room looks brighter. Also helped my sculptor wife with a technical problem for a while. And did some contribution to my local eco group, using internet communication. We heated & ate frozen lasagne for supper, as neither of us had time/energy for cooking from scratch.

Sunny sky is out there this morning here.

Today going into town to run errands. Along with that, our plan is to get together with a woman who is an old friend of ours. She's battled serious depression for many years since the break-up of her marriage. Legal psilocybin therapy for people with treatment-resistant depression is getting started in Canada (following same in Britain, Australia & Oregon). I've obtained info about accessing it and will help our friend apply, if she wishes to.

Well been up about 5hrs now, and don't feel the better for it....
Feeling like cr#p actually....now both shoulder joints are in pain
mode, so will spend a lot of time on heat pad today....I know I'm just feeling lousy cause cannot do much any more,,,,,old body and old mind....want something to eat, but cannot make up my mind if I want to cook it....just a blah day.....later.....😺

was going to cut back and divide some ornamental grasses today but it is raining.bought me a battery operated saws all to cut back and divide.no hurry I have plenty of time.will be be alot easier with saw as I have a lot.i keep dividing every year and don't have to buy any more.some are over 6 ft tall or more.

Rained all through the night and this morning, supposed to clear out soon, it will be an inside chores for me today. The cute little doggy is gone, I think I was out of my mind to think I could take care of a dog again, another slap in the face with reality...oh well, I do get to sit in my recliner and look out at everything turning green all around me, that makes me smile also there are no more puddles on the patio floor after the rain.

Made kale soup. Basic ingredients are fresh kale, cubed smoked turkey sausage and canned cannellini beans. For seasonings - white pepper, thyme, fresh chopped garlic, onion powder, packet of chicken bullion.

Cut sausage into 1/2 inch cubes, add chopped garlic and other seasonings and brown over medium heat.
Add 2 cups water and bullion.
Add chopped kale.
Cook over medium heat until kale is wilted.
Add drained beans and heat until all warmed through.

Looks good, Deb... and very healthy, so another plus. This would be perfect for St. Patrick's Day lunch... I'll have to buy some kale and sausage! (y)

It's my version of Portuguese kale soup. I substituted turkey sausage for chourico sausage (not easy to find in markets around here) and white beans for the traditional red kidney beans (which I don't really like).
I don't like red, either... but keep Cannellini in the pantry. To make it even healthier for us, I have been using the Herb Ox Zero sodium broth/bouillon powder for a few years now, both chicken and beef. Never once could tell a difference in any recipe. One packet of that to one cup water... zero sodium.

I seemed to have a relapse last night. My temp went up to 99°. That's not all so bad, but it felt much worse. Once again, this morning, I think my fever is gone. I still have a persistent, dry cough, though. It tends to keep me up at night. And that is why I have been laying around all day!

Today's mystery: what did I do with my friggin' stylus?!!! I had it yesterday and now I don't. Did it grow wings and fly off, looking for a mate?!

I have at least 2 dozen spare stylus' in the closet, so that's not a problem. I only recently started to use one, and I put a pentagram charm on it. What did I do with it??!!!!

It's going to bug me, until it turns up! 😆

🍀 I hope everyone has a great weekend! I'll be back...whenever!

I like kale and found that it's better for me to eat it cooked rather than raw.

Ooh, I need to look for that!
I wonder if salt free affects the shelf life. Boullion lasts forever.

Sorry you're not better!
Something about stylus. They do disappear.

I wish I was a drinker...I'd go out and get drunk....horrible discoveries from the divorce lawyer today... , not going to go into it here.. but it took my feet from under me to realise what a horrible nasty, devious piece of work I'm married to.. 🥺

anyway, had to go and do some shopping , haven't done any for best part of 3 weeks.. and the fridge was almost entirely bare. So I drove into north London.. and got M&S, and Tesco..for groceries

M&S has a sale on so I bought myself a couple of nice things, a beige turtle neck Cotton and Merino wool sleeveless jumper... .. to put away for next winter... a second jumper in cream with pale green stripes.. an emerald green wool scarf.. and a long sleeve white t-shirt.....total just £33.00

I've kept stocked up with the 50-packet boxes for long periods of time (I'll go check for a date in a sec) and there's not been a problem I get the big packs at Amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0077DMWO...d=ICX19X99UGPQ&amp=&sprefix=herb+ox+salt+free ) But Walmart has much smaller boxes at more than double the price they were like two years ago.

Anyhow, the tradeoff for no sodium is 1 gram of sugar but that's fine for us... chicken broth is sooo high in sodium. Okay, I checked, and they do have "best buy" dates but I've had my current box for about a year and flavor hasn't been compromised at all. @hearlady

I’m so sorry you keep getting emotionally bombarded by the divorce proceedings…. It’s like being dragged through a knot hole by one leg 😞. I’m glad you are taking care of yourself. With the spring weather on the horizon, you can keep the windows open to your hear’s content and get out in the garden, hear the bird song and keep your spirits up When I was going through my divorce, weeding and pruning in the garden were very therapeutic 🪴👩‍🌾🏡

Nice outfit! Retail therapy, yes... drinking no. You'd feel the pain of what you discovered triple strong when it starts wearing off.
So sorry you're going through this crap. 😞

It's a jolly lucky thing I hate the taste of alcohol anyway..much less the smell...but sometimes I wish there was Something to help me through. I mean most people can have a glass or 2 of wine or whisky to dull things.. or to calm the waters.. .. but not me.. perhaps I should take up drugs..
