Very odd weather today...Sun/cloud/torrential rain/sun..etc....

First I drove into town and collected my new Cordless drill from the store.. then drove in the opposite direction to the village where there's a new Hospice charity shop, and donated them 17 pairs of my shoes/trainers and boots...they were delighted to get them..

I'm trying to really slim down a lot of my things in case I get to move soon...

From there drove to Costco.. filled up the tank with petrol... and spent £140 in total there... then from there drove back to the next town, and stopped off at M&S and got groceries... I was surprised how busy it was given that so many people are away this holiday week...

Just got back with the shopping and got it out of the car when the heavens opened.. absolutely torrential within a minute or so.. the paper goods that I'd left on the garden table while I got everything else in the back door got soaked.. but fortunately the packing is strong from Costco, and it didn't soak through to the kitchen paper etc..


Now at 4.50pm... the sun is out, the sky is blue it's like there was never a drop of rain...
 

A day full of short showers, but managed to get some work done outside. Looking forward to getting away, but the flight timetables seem a bit messed up. Customer services assured me that the flight is planned after an Easter break. Fingers crossed.

I must also get the campervan washed and polished and start to get away in it. There are still places in Scotland to visit, but I also want to go
Northumberland to visit Alnwick castle - 'Hogwarts' of the Harry Potter stories. and 'Cragside', home of the industrialist, Lord Armstrong.

It makes me happy to hear someone speak thankfully to have the best things in life. Thanks for reminding me @CinnamonSugar . I needed that.
 
Got done with a major portion of a really stressful financial task. Sent the email off. Still got a ways to go, but it's break time. Got a lot of the task done today.

It's been raining today which was nice. The quiet from the neighbors allowed me to get more done.

I was hoping to place a Walmart order soon, but I'm going to wait until the rain subsides more.

The plan for Friday is rest and relaxation.

Bad day from the getgo. I went to town to get groceries and was held up quite a while by road construction. Then when I reached in my pocket to get my shopping list, I couldn't find it. I tried to remember what was on it an only ended up only getting a few items.

As long as I was in town, I went to Dollar General and pick out a few things. When I went up to the checkout, the clerk said she would take me because they discontinued the self-checkout. She rang me up and when I got out my wallet and handed her money, she said, "We are card-only now." No self-checkout and they don't accept money? What's going on?

I also decided to check out the library food pantry and all they had was a few sorry looking potatoes, carrots and onions.

A wasted morning.

That does sound like a bad morning. Hope today is better.
